This song did so well, i am glad. Hoping that "Bad Habits" will keep the album selling.

I really like this song a lot. I wish they'd give him a pop release for this song. I mean why not expose him to as many audiences as possible?

^ True. But now it's late, I suppose.
Does anybody know how many weeks has this song been #1 on UAC? 5 or 6?
At the moment he is #2 on both URB and UAC; he won't release the #1 spot on R&B for a while!

With Mario's spins falling, and unless Drake's bullet increases dramatically, "Pretty Wings" should be #1 Urban by Sunday's final update. SMASH!

I am so surprised that this song has held on so well. I do not know what is happening to Bad Habits, though.

^Even with PW dominating, BH got as high as #4 on Mediabase so far.

Nice to meet you.
By the way, the song returns to #1 on UAC for today's final update. Monster.

That person must be 14 and probably thinks that Soulja Boy is the king of R&B. Pathetic.
Anyway, back to Maxwell. This song has legs for sure.
I am waiting on the announcement of the 3rd single and Urban AC still can't get enough of this. lol.

This song is PURE GENIUS still. I just can't get enough of this song. When he drops that 1st verse I just lose my mind each time. I've had a couple of those shut the f@ck up moments with my friends in the car cause they try to sing that part. He has the R&B categories on LOCK during the Grammy's.

This song definitely deserves a *hallowed* Gramophone, and I think it will get one.

Imo "Love You" or "Fistful of Tears" should be the third single, both amazing songs and i think they would do well. I agree with all the Grammy coments, after the success of "Pretty Wings" i will be very surprised if he gets snubbed.

#1 R&B for 14 weeks. Here's the list Street Date Violation posted a while ago, updated with "PW":
15 weeks at No. 1, "Be Without You," Mary J. Blige, 2006
14 weeks at No. 1, "Pretty Wings," Maxwell, 2009 14 weeks at No. 1, "Blame It," Jamie Foxx featuring T-Pain, 2009 14 weeks at No. 1, "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here," Deborah Cox, 1998-99 14 weeks at No. 1, "We Belong Together," Mariah Carey, 2005
12 weeks at No. 1, "Bump N' Grind," R. Kelly, 1994 12 weeks at No. 1, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," Beyoncé, 2008-09
11 weeks at No. 1, "I Will Always Love You," Whitney Houston, 1992 11 weeks at No. 1, "You Make Me Wanna...," Usher, 1997 11 weeks at No. 1, "Let Me Love You," Mario, 2005 11 weeks at No. 1, "Lost Without U," Robin Thicke, 2007
10 weeks at No. 1, "Baby (You've Got What It Takes)," Dinah Washington & Brook Benton, 1960 10 weeks at No. 1, "Tossin & Turnin'," Bobby Lewis, 1961 10 weeks at No. 1, "I Can't Stop Loving You," Ray Charles, 1962 10 weeks at No. 1, "Sexual Healing, " Marvin Gaye, 1982 10 weeks at No. 1, "Any Time, Any Place/And On And On," Janet Jackson, 1994 10 weeks at No. 1, "Foolish," Ashanti, 2002 10 weeks at No. 1, "No One," Alicia Keys, 2007
I wonder how much longer it can hold, as the Jay-Z/Alicia and Drake & Co. competition is strong.

Wow, I would've never thought this song would spent 14 weeks at #1 and two from this year alone is quite amazing. I want this song to pass Mary's record.

Well Young Money, believe it, it is rare for a neo-soul artist to spend this much time at the top so this is well-deserved stay and any extra will be as well. This is such a great song.

If Maxwell gets only one Grammy, I think it would be for this song. I think he has Best Male R&B Vocal Performance locked up. "Pretty Wings" stay @ #1 is deserving.

Homeboy should be walking away with 5 (R&B Vocal, R&B Song, R&B Album, SOTY, & AOTY), imho. I think "Bad Habit" (if it was submit) should receive ROTY.

I think his best chances are in the R&B field, and even there he may have stiff competition (Whitney in Best R&B Album and Beyonce in Best R&B Song). I doubt he wins SOTY and AOTY if nominated. How often does an R&B/Neo-Soul artist win in those categories? Best Male R&B Vocal Performance seems to be his strongest chance at a win, and that would be an honor.

That's the thing, it is rare for R&B/Neo-Soul to win those categories and it is past due for one to do it. Maxwell will best one at this moment. He has the sales, the critics are behind, and he has quietly made himself back into this business. That says a lot about an artist that does not do huge promo oto.

And that's why he will probably get nominations in those categories, but I don't think the odds of him winning the big categories are that great, especially with Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon and other artists with more crossover and/or critical success in contention. Honestly, one Grammy win would be a great accomplishment for Maxwell because he has never won anything like that. He'll probably be up for more in the upcoming years.

Amazing and well deserved. How could the awful Jaime Foxx song be up there so long??? That's an embarassment for sure.

Amazing and well deserved. How could the awful Jaime Foxx song be up there so long??? That's an embarassment for sure. No its not. Jaime Foxx released a song that people like. They still play it on the pop & r&b radio stations here in Dallas to this day. You like what you like and aren't embarrassed about it and neither should anyone else be embarrassed about what they like.
