Oh joy, just what we need. Another week where 58 of the 60 songs on the charts have a bullet. I've actually thought it's been pretty good lately, in terms of chart movement. But this was just one of those weeks where no one really wanted to leave, and there are quite a few new songs out there from big stars and promising newcomers alike.

That was very good chart analysis, Jhomes. Accurate and complete.
Of course you were off by a few days on the date of the chart you were projecting. Nobody's perfect!

^Haha, didn't even notce that. I only changed the month from 3 to 4, and forgot to change the day from 31 (as in 3/31) to 7 for the 4/7 chart. Time to fix it, lol

Dropping Off: Dierks Bentley's "Home" and George Strait's "Love's Gonna Make It Alright"
Comments:
Jake Owen's "Alone With You" will spend a 2nd week at #1, with Lee Brice closing in--his hit single "A Woman Like You" should move up to #2, and become the highest peaking song of his career, as he steps closer toward the top spot. Blake Shelton and Lady Antebellum aren't too far behind Lee and will be vying for #1 soon as well. Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert, and Jason Aldean have all had huge weeks...Rascal Flatts will be stepping toward the top 5, with Miranda not too far back, and Jason's "Fly Over States" flying into the top 10. And it looks like Tim McGraw's "Better Than I Used To Be" will pass Carrie's "Good Girl" this week--potentially a bit of a push to get Tim into the top 10 before his duet with Kenny Chesney hits the charts. Carrie will likely be at #11 for a 3rd week, but should start picking up the pace again soon.
Kip Moore continues to move up strongly, but Eric Church is closing in as he takes "Springsteen" into the top 15. Brantley Gilbert will also move into the top 15, with Luke Bryan's "Drunk On You" catching fire and blasting into the top 20. The Eli Young Band's "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" has had a big week and will continue to move up strongly. Josh Turner's "Time Is Love" has also had a huge week and should surge into the top 20, while Casey James and Gloriana creep closer to the top 20 as well. Look for Toby Keith's "Beers Ago" and The Band Perry's "Postcard From Paris" to surge into the top 30. Newcomers The Farm and Dustin Lynch continue to show good signs as well.
The veterans Alan Jackson and Ronnie Dunn continue to struggle this week, with Ronnie potentially falling back a few spots, while Alan battles with newcomer Thomas Rhett, whose debut single "Something To Do With My Hands" is off to a good start. Josh Thompson has also had a nice week and should pick up some ground. Look for Easton Corbin and Craig Campbell to move back into the top 40, with Hunter Hayes closing in. Chris Young, Justin Moore, and Dierks Bentley should each move up several spots with their new singles, while new acts Canaan Smith and Tyler Farr continue to struggle to move up. Martina and Pat Monahan should also move up several positions.
With two top 10 songs set to go recurrent--Dierks Bentley's "Home" and George Strait's "Love's Gonna Make It Alright"--we should see at least 2 debuts, and I've got Scotty McCreery's "Water Tower Town" and Jon Pardi's "Missin' You Crazy" picked as my 2 favorites to take the open spots. However, Eric Paslay, Eden's Edge, Glen Templeton, and Kellie Pickler are also all in the hunt. Next week, we'll likely have debuts from Kenny & Tim and also Keith Urban, with others quite possible as well.

Country Songs Greatest Gainer No. 7 "Over You" Miranda Lambert I'm impressed by just how well this is doing. Miranda is definitely on her way to a third No. 1 hit on Billboard.

1) Lee Brice – “A Woman Like You” 2) Blake Shelton – “Drink On It” 3) Jake Owen – “Alone With You” 4) Lady Antebellum – “Dancin’ Away With My Heart” 5) Rascal Flatts – “Banjo” 6) Miranda Lambert – “Over You” 7) Jason Aldean – “Fly Over States” 8-9) Carrie Underwood – “Good Girl” 8-9) Taylor Swift – “Ours” (last week) 10) Tim McGraw – “Better Than I Used To Be” 11-13) Kip Moore – “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck” 11-13) Zac Brown Band – “No Hurry" 11-13) Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw – “Feel Like A Rock Star” [NEW!] 14) Eric Church – “Springsteen” 15) Brantley Gilbert – “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” 16) Luke Bryan – “Drunk On You” 17) Craig Morgan – “This Ole Boy” 18) Chris Cagle – “Got My Country On” 19) Eli Young Band – “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” 20) Josh Turner – “Time Is Love” 21) Casey James – “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night” 22) Gloriana – “(Kissed You) Good Night” 23) Toby Keith – “Beers Ago" 24-25) Rodney Atkins – “He’s Mine” 24-25) Jana Kramer – “Why Ya Wanna?” 26) The Band Perry – “Postcard From Paris” 27) The Farm – “Home Sweet Home” 28-29) Andy Gibson – “Wanna Make You Love Me” 28-29) Dustin Lynch – “Cowboys And Angels” 30) Lauren Alaina – “Georgia Peaches” 31) Love & Theft – “Angel Eyes” 32-35) Alan Jackson – “So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore” 32-35) Thompson Square – “Glass” 32-35) Josh Thompson – “Comin’ Around” 32-35) Thomas Rhett – “Something To Do With My Hands” 36) Ronnie Dunn – “Let The Cowboy Rock” 37) Easton Corbin – “Lovin’ You Is Fun” 38-40) Kix Brooks (featuring Joe Walsh) – “New To This Town” 38-40) The Lost Trailers – “Underdog” 38-40) Kelly Clarkson – “Mr. Know It All” 41-43) Phil Vassar – “Don’t Miss Your Life” 41-43) Chris Young – “Neon” 41-43) Craig Campbell – “When I Get It” 44) Hunter Hayes – “Wanted” 45) Justin Moore – “’Til My Last Day” 46-49) JT Hodges – “Goodbyes Made You Mine” 46-49) David Nail – “The Sound Of A Million Dreams” 46-49) Dierks Bentley – “5-1-5-0” 46-49) Josh Abbott Band – “Touch” 50-52) Martina McBride (featuring Pat Monahan) – “Marry Me” 50-52) Canaan Smith – “We Got Us” 50-52) Tyler Farr – “Hot Mess” 53) Jerrod Niemann – “Shinin’ On Me” 54-55) Katie Armiger – “Scream” 54-55) Aaron Lewis – “Endless Summer” 56-58) Jon Pardi – “Missin’ You Crazy” 56-58) James Wesley – “Walking Contradiction” 56-58) Darryl Worley – “You Still Got It” 59-60) Eric Paslay – “If The Fish Don’t Bite” [NEW!] 59-60) Pat Green – “All Just To Get To You”
Comments:
After 2 weeks at #1, Jake Owen's "Alone With You" has begun its descent and should drop a few spots. Lee Brice should pick up his first #1 as a singer, with "A Woman Like You" set to be #1 tomorrow. Lee of course was one of the songwriters behind Garth Brooks' #1 hit "More Than A Memory" and the Eli Young Band's recent #1 hit, "Crazy Girl". Blake Shelton should slide up to #2, on the verge of picking up his 6th straight #1 hit. Look for Rascal Flatts to take "Banjo" into the top 5, still a bit behind Lady Antebellum, with Miranda Lambert's "Over You" coming up fast.
Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" should move up a bit more, but the competition is brewing below. Montgomery Gentry is one of few who has bowed out of the race, as "Where I Come From" should go recurrent. Tim McGraw's Curb-promoted single "Better Than I Used To Be" also appears to be running low on gas, but it looks like it could sneak into the top 10 this week. Kip Moore continues to cruise along and may be able to squeak past the Zac Brown Band. Finally, we'll more than likely have the 2nd highest debut in the history of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart tomorrow, as superstars Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw should pop in just outside the top 10 with "Feel Like A Rock Star". How fitting that I mentioned Garth earlier, as his "More Than A Memory" of course holds the record with its #1 debut a few years back. Aside from that, the next highest debut is a pair of #16 bows, one by Keith Urban's "Once In A Lifetime" and the other by Kenny Chesney himself, with "Don't Blink". "Feel Like A Rock Star" looks likely to enter with more than 22 million audience impressions, which should put it no lower than #13, but it could wind up as high as #11.
Meanwhile, Casey James and Gloriana continue to inch closer toward the top 20, but Toby Keith and also The Band Perry are coming up fast (just not "rock star" fast). We've got a group of several artists all battling for airplay and scraping and clawing their way up the chart, including Lauren Alaina, Love & Theft, Thompson Square, Josh Thompson, Thomas Rhett, and a couple veterans--Alan Jackson and Ronnie Dunn--who aren't used to working so hard just to crack the top 30. The other half of Brooks & Dunn, Kix Brooks, is also finding the going to be slow with his first post-B&D single "New To This Town". With several distinguished country stars struggling a bit, it's only fitting that pop superstar and the very first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, is off to a decent start with her first solo crack at the country chart. Look for her smash hit "Mr. Know It All" to climb into the top 40 on the country chart as it begins to cross-over into another format. Chris Young, Justin Moore, JT Hodges, and David Nail are all off to a slow start as they wait for the chart to clear up a bit.
Dierks Bentley's "5-1-5-0" should begin its take-off this week, but the big jumps will likely occur in the next 1-2 weeks as the song is just now going for adds and already showing good signs. Canaan Smith and Tyler Farr are still finding it tough to move up, and the same could be said for Katie Armiger, Aaron Lewis, Darryl Worley, and James Wesley. Anyway, with only Montgomery Gentry's tune set to go recurrent this week, and the Kenny/Tim duet to be the only obvious debut, we may have very few (if any) new entries near the bottom of the chart. I'm not convinced that Matt Stillwell and Pat Green will hang on, however, so I do think that maybe Eric Paslay's "If The Fish Don't Bite" could sneak on the chart. Other possibilities include Taylor Swift's "Eyes Open", Keith Urban's "For You", Scotty McCreery's "Water Tower Town", Edens Edge's "Too Good To Be True", Kellie Pickler's "100 Proof", and maybe even a few Lionel Richie duets.

Here are my predictions for tomorrow's 4/28 Billboard chart! :)
1) Blake Shelton – “Drink On It” 2) Lee Brice – “A Woman Like You” 3) Lady Antebellum – “Dancin’ Away With My Heart” 4) Miranda Lambert – “Over You” 5) Rascal Flatts – “Banjo” 6-7) Jason Aldean – “Fly Over States” 6-7) Jake Owen – “Alone With You” (last week) 8) Carrie Underwood – “Good Girl” 9-10) Zac Brown Band – “No Hurry” 9-10) Tim McGraw – “Better Than I Used To Be” 11) Kip Moore – “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck” 12) Eric Church – “Springsteen” 13) Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw – “Feel Like A Rock Star” 14-15) Brantley Gilbert – “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” 14-15) Luke Bryan – “Drunk On You” 16-17) Craig Morgan – “This Ole Boy” 16-17) Eli Young Band – “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” 18) Chris Cagle – “Got My Country On” 19) Josh Turner – “Time Is Love” 20-22) Casey James – “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night” 20-22) Gloriana – “(Kissed You) Good Night” 20-22) Toby Keith – “Beers Ago” 23) The Band Perry – “Postcard From Paris” 24) Jana Kramer – “Why Ya Wanna?” 25-26) Dustin Lynch – “Cowboys And Angels” 25-26) The Farm – “Home Sweet Home” 27) Andy Gibson – “Wanna Make You Love Me” 28) Love & Theft – “Angel Eyes” 29-32) Thompson Square – “Glass” 29-32) Ronnie Dunn – “Let The Cowboy Rock” 29-32) Alan Jackson – “So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore” 29-32) Thomas Rhett – “Something To Do With My Hands” 33) Josh Thompson – “Comin’ Around” 34-35) Easton Corbin – “Lovin’ You Is Fun” 34-35) Kix Brooks (featuring Joe Walsh) – “New To This Town” 36-37) Kelly Clarkson – “Mr. Know It All” 36-37) Dierks Bentley – “5-1-5-0” 38-39) Hunter Hayes – “Wanted” 38-39) Chris Young – “Neon” 40-41) Phil Vassar – “Don’t Miss Your Life” 40-41) Craig Campbell – “When I Get It” 42) Justin Moore – “’Til My Last Day” 43) Jerrod Niemann – “Shinin’ On Me” 44-45) Martina McBride (featuring Pat Monahan) – “Marry Me” 44-45) JT Hodges – “Goodbyes Made You Mine” 46) David Nail – “The Sound Of A Million Dreams” 47) Josh Abbott Band – “Touch” 48-50) Keith Urban – “For You” [NEW!] 48-50) Edens Edge – “Too Good To Be True” 48-50) Tyler Farr – “Hot Mess” 51-53) Jon Pardi – “Missin’ You Crazy” 51-53) Darryl Worley – “You Still Got It” 51-53) James Wesley – “Walking Contradiction” 54-55) Katie Armiger – “Scream” 54-55) Aaron Lewis – “Endless Summer” 56-57) Scotty McCreery – “Water Tower Town” [NEW!] 56-57) Pat Green – “All Just To Get To You” 58-60) Eric Paslay – “If the Fish Don’t Bite” 58-60) Matt Stillwell – “Ignition” 58-60) Marlee Scott (featuring Vince Gill) – “Train Wreck” [NEW!]
Going Recurrent: Taylor Swift's "Ours", Rodney Atkins' "He's Mine", and The Lost Trailers' "Underdog"
Comments:
Blake Shelton will pick up his 6th straight #1 hit tomorrow, as "Drink On It" will ascend 2-1, knocking Lee Brice's "A Woman Like You" from the throne. Meanwhile, Lady A, Miranda, and Rascal Flatts will round out the top 5 as they have begun to line up for #1 after Blake. Look for the Zac Brown Band to enter the top 10 this week, as they close in on Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood. Kip Moore, Eric Church, and Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw's duet will move closer to the top 10. Luke Bryan continues his tear up the chart and will surge into the top 15, closing in on Brantley Gilbert.
The Eli Young Band and Josh Turner continue to move up nicely, while Craig Morgan and Chris Cagle both continue to inch toward the top 15. Look for Casey James, Gloriana, and Toby Keith to battle it out for the last top 20 spot. Casey might not have too many chances, as his song is really slowing down, while Gloriana looks likely to be in it for the long haul and Toby is only getting started, as his "Beers Ago" is off a strong start. Meanwhile, Thompson Square, Ronnie Dunn, Alan Jackson, and Thomas Rhett will likely be battling for the last 2 top 30 spots, as I'm leaning towards Rodney Atkins going recurrent, opening up a 2nd top 30 spot (the first to be ceded by Taylor Swift).
Kelly Clarkson's first solo attempt at a country hit, "Mr. Know It All", should pick up some more ground as we get closer to its adds date. Dierks Bentley's "5-1-5-0" will blast into the top 40, followed by Hunter Hayes' "Wanted" and Chris Young's "Neon". Jerrod Niemann should close in on the top 40, while Phil Vassar, Craig Campbell, JT Hodges, and David Nail continue to struggle. Edens Edge's new single "Too Good To Be True" should also pick up several spots and has a good chance to crack the top 50.
The Lost Trailers' "Underdog" will likely be the 3rd recurrent this week (unless Rodney gets a grace week), which will allow for a few debuts. I'm expecting Keith Urban's new single "For You" to be the highest debut, potentially entering in the top 50. Scotty McCreery's "Water Tower Town" should also debut, with maybe the last spot on the chart up for grabs among artists like Marlee Scott, Greg Bates, Kellie Pickler, Rachel Holder, The Dirt Drifters, Alison Krauss & Union Station, and perhaps even the previously charted "Star Spangled Banner" from The Band Perry.

I'm really hoping that in the next 2 weeks or so some of the older songs are going to disappear. I'm talking about "This Ole Boy", "Got My Country On", "Wanna Make You Love Me" and "Let's Don't Call It A Night" as they're all basically as high as they can get.
Casey James and Craig Morgan would do well to get another single out there from their projects to maybe give people another incentive to buy their albums, while Andy's recent partnership with Curb means they'll probably push the current single for another month or so, but I think it's time to move on, it made it higher than I thought it ever would and I believe it's the biggest hit for his label (R&J).
Chris is releasing his new album soon so I'm sure "Got My Country On" will stick around until that comes out...I'm just tired of hearing them. "Home Sweet Home" by The FARM is next on my list to purge but it's still sounds realativley new.

^ I love This Ole Boy, so I wouldn't mind that sticking around. The rest of those can GTFO though. We need to make room for songs like 100 Proof. <3

^^^ I agree with this. The other songs can go asap- stale and tired and in some cases pushed to the max, but I would like to see This Ole Boy stick around- I haven't liked any of his other singles, but this is a big grower for me.

I do think a lot of the older songs are going to disappear soon. On the last Billboard chart, the top 13 songs were all over 20 million, and songs 14-18 were all over 15 million. That's a lot of songs to be that high. So, something's gotta give...and I think some of the older songs will now get purged out.
The only song of that group of older songs that Jordan Stacey mentioned that's doing pretty good yet is Chris Cagle's "Got My Country On", which is up over 1.2 million on Mediabase this week. Tim McGraw is almost flat for the week, Craig Morgan's bullet is only +11 (and he's lost audience for the last 2 or 3 days), while Casey James, Rodney Atkins, and Andy Gibson all appear to be on life support. Even Josh Turner had a rough week, but I think it was just a 1-week deal...it just goes to show that when so many songs have such high audience levels, it makes it really tough on those songs trying to get going.
I, for one, hope The Farm's song continues going for a while, and I think it will yet, kinda like Gloriana. The Farm's song never really took off until a few weeks back--it charted last year already but looked like the holidays nearly killed it off, and now it's only finally begun to gain some traction.
Lower down on the chart, Ronnie Dunn and Josh Thompson have really slowed up, while Alan Jackson and Thompson Square have finally had pretty good weeks (both up over 1 million this week!). Craig Campbell has peaked and will go recurrent a week from Monday. Chris Young and Justin Moore are really struggling--again, lot of new "A-list" songs out plus so many songs not backing down, and it makes it tough for some of the other newer songs to get going.

Going Recurrent: Jake Owen's "Alone With You" and the Josh Abbott Band's "Touch"
Comments:
It's looking like a stagnant week on the chart, with everyone still wanting to go up. Something's gotta give (soon), but for this week, it's tough to find many recurrent candidates. Jake Owen's "Alone With You" is the only obvious dropper, as the recent 2-week #1 hit will fall out of the top 10 and go recurrent. The Josh Abbott Band's "Touch" has been bullet-less for 2 straight weeks and I think it may go recurrent, but it's impossible to know for sure, as the song hasn't been in the Mediabase top 50 and really is only getting spotty national airplay, with mostly regional play in Texas. A couple other songs seem to be on life support--Craig Morgan's "This Ole Boy", Casey James' "Let's Don't Call It A Night", Rodney Atkins' "He's Mine", Andy Gibson's "Wanna Make You Love Me", and Ronnie Dunn's "Let The Cowboy Rock". Tim McGraw's "Better Than I Used To Be" also appears to be near the end of the road, and we've also got slow-climbers with Chris Cagle's "Got My Country On", The Farm's "Home Sweet Home", and Josh Thompson's "Comin' Around". You could even throw veteran Alan Jackson in there, although his "So You Don't Have To Love Me Anymore" has had a pretty strong week. Some of these older songs will have to get purged in the next 1-2 weeks, it seems, or the chart will come to a standstill. Even red hot songs like Eric Church's "Springsteen", Luke Bryan's "Drunk On You", and The Band Perry's "Postcard From Paris" feel the toll from a slow-moving chart. If everyone keeps gaining (or trying to gain), things get tough for those artists not named Chesney, Shelton, Urban, or Aldean (you get the picture). Basically, there's a slight chance that Craig Morgan, Casey James, Rodney Atkins, and/or Andy Gibson could go recurrent this week, but I'm not confident enough to predict any of them will leave, and so we'll see if they begin to fall in the next couple of weeks.
Anyway, enough of the slow-moving chart rant. Look for Blake Shelton to spend his 2nd and final week at #1 with "Drink On It"...the song will lose its bullet, but should hold off Lady A for #1. Perhaps Lady A can do their part to speed up the chart by settling for a #2 peak, but they could hang around and battle for #1 next week. Rascal Flatts and Miranda Lambert should also be in the hunt, with both songs heading for more than 34 million, while Jason Aldean may not even crack the top 5 despite a likely audience total of more than 32 million.
Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" continues to move unusually slow, with the Zac Brown Band and newcomer Kip Moore starting to apply pressure from below. Kip's "Somethin' 'Bout A Truck" should become his first top 10 hit on tomorrow's chart. Eric Church's "Springsteen" and Kenny & Tim's "Feel Like A Rock Star" would normally be in the top 10 with audience totals greater than 22.5 million, but as it stands, they'll probably be sitting just outside the top 10 with the current logjam. Meanwhile, Luke Bryan continues to close in on Brantley Gilbert, while Chris Cagle and the Eli Young Band are neck and neck for the last top 15 spot. Gloriana's "(Kissed You) Good Night" continues to pick up steam and should move into the top 20, becoming just their 2nd top 20 hit (along with "Wild At Heart").
Alan Jackson may finally crack the top 30 this week, though it's not a guarantee, as Thompson Square has also had a pretty strong week. Dierks Bentley continues to move up nicely, and Keith Urban's "For You" should blast up 10 spots, give or take a couple, and into the top 40. Kelly Clarkson is off to a solid start with "Mr. Know It All", and Hunter Hayes' "Wanted" and Easton Corbin's "Lovin' You Is Fun" have also gained quite well this week. Meanwhile, Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks are struggling on the solo scene, Josh Thompson is still struggling to gain traction, and Chris Young's "Neon" is off to a shockingly slower-than-slow start, given the fact that he's coming off 5 straight #1 hits.
Craig Campbell should spend his last week on the chart--his "When I Get It" eeked out a #38 peak a few weeks back. David Nail has seen a much-needed boost this week, but Justin Moore, JT Hodges, and Martina McBride continue to move slowly. Look for Edens Edge, Scotty McCreery, and Greg Bates to each climb a few spots, and with only a couple of spots opening up for debuts, I'll guess that George Strait's "Drinkin' Man" and Little Big Town's "Pontoon" sneak on the chart as our only debuts this week, though Kellie Pickler or Randy Houser could challenge for one of the last spots on the chart, with Darryl Worley and Matt Stillwell, among others, unlikely to climb too much higher.

Would've had these up earlier but my internet decided to not work a few hours ago, on the eve of final exams Anyway... Top 60 Predictions for 5/12 Billboard Chart:1) Rascal Flatts – “Banjo” 2) Lady Antebellum – “Dancin’ Away With My Heart” 3) Miranda Lambert – “Over You” 4) Jason Aldean – “Fly Over States” 5) Blake Shelton – “Drink On It” 6) Zac Brown Band – “No Hurry” 7) Lee Brice – “A Woman Like You” (last week)8) Carrie Underwood – “Good Girl” 9) Kip Moore – “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck” 10) Eric Church – “Springsteen” 11) Tim McGraw – “Better Than I Used To Be” 12) Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw – “Feel Like A Rock Star” 13) Luke Bryan – “Drunk On You” 14) Brantley Gilbert – “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” 15) Eli Young Band – “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” 16) Chris Cagle – “Got My Country On” 17) Craig Morgan – “This Ole Boy” (last week)18) Toby Keith – “Beers Ago” 19) Josh Turner – “Time Is Love” 20) Gloriana – “(Kissed You) Good Night” 21) The Band Perry – “Postcard From Paris” 22) Jana Kramer – “Why Ya Wanna?” 23-25) The Farm – “Home Sweet Home” 23-25) Dustin Lynch – “Cowboys And Angels” 23-25) Dierks Bentley – “5-1-5-0” 26) Love & Theft – “Angel Eyes” 27) Andy Gibson – “Wanna Make You Love Me” 28) Thompson Square – “Glass” 29-32) Kelly Clarkson – “Mr. Know It All” 29-32) Keith Urban – “For You” 29-32) Ronnie Dunn – “Let The Cowboy Rock” 29-32) Alan Jackson – “So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore” 33) Thomas Rhett – “Something To Do With My Hands” 34) Easton Corbin – “Lovin’ You Is Fun” 35-36) Kix Brooks (featuring Joe Walsh) – “New To This Town” 35-36) Josh Thompson – “Comin’ Around” 37) Hunter Hayes – “Wanted” 38) Chris Young – “Neon” 39) Phil Vassar – “Don’t Miss Your Life” 40) David Nail – “The Sound Of A Million Dreams” 41-42) Jerrod Niemann – “Shinin’ On Me” 41-42) Justin Moore – “’Til My Last Day” 43) JT Hodges – “Goodbyes Made You Mine” 44-47) George Strait – “Drinkin’ Man” 44-47) Martina McBride (featuring Pat Monahan) – “Marry Me” 44-47) Edens Edge – “Too Good To Be True” 44-47) Greg Bates – “Did It For The Girl” 48) Josh Abbott Band – “Touch” 49-50) Jon Pardi – “Missin’ You Crazy” 49-50) Scotty McCreery – “Water Tower Town” 51-52) Tyler Farr – “Hot Mess” 51-52) Taylor Swift – “Eyes Open” 53-56) James Wesley – “Walking Contradiction” 53-56) Kellie Pickler – “100 Proof” [NEW!]53-56) Darryl Worley – “You Still Got It” 53-56) Aaron Lewis – “Endless Summer” 57-59) Eric Paslay – “If The Fish Don’t Bite” 57-59) Randy Houser – “How Country Feels” [NEW!]57-59) Matt Stillwell – “Ignition” 60) Pat Green – “All Just To Get To You” Going Recurrent: Casey James' "Let's Don't Call It A Night", Craig Campbell's "When I Get It" Comments:The top 10 logjam continues, but relief may be in sight. Lee Brice will spend his last week on the chart, and Blake Shelton is also falling quickly. Several songs are building up outside the top 10, but it looks like Craig Morgan may be out the door soon--slight chance he goes recurrent this week already, as he's hanging on by a thread, but I'll say he'll get one more week on the chart. The logjam continues to be extra tough on Carrie Underwood and Tim McGraw, and also Tim's duet with Kenny, which debuted at #13 a couple weeks ago, and in its 4th week on the chart, may only be 1 spot higher. It looks like Rascal Flatts' "Banjo" will take over the #1 spot this week, leap-frogging over Lady A's "Dancin' Away With My Heart". RF won't be too far ahead, but I do think they'll be #1, and Lady A seems likely to get blocked out of the top spot, with Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean coming up quickly. Kip Moore and Eric Church continue to motor along and are closing in on Carrie, who could spend a 4th straight week at #8. Luke Bryan and the Eli Young Band are doing pretty well in the top 15, patiently waiting for the chart ahead to clear a bit. Toby Keith's "Beers Ago" is on a roll--Toby should pass Josh Turner and is closing in on the stalling Craig Morgan and slowly-moving Chris Cagle. Dierks Bentley is also on a roll and should blast up several more spots. Look for Kelly Clarkson and Keith Urban to surge into the top 30, likely sending Alan Jackson and Thomas Rhett back a couple spots. Easton Corbin and Kix Brooks have both had pretty good weeks and should move up a little bit, while Josh Thompson continues to move slowly and may take a couple steps back once again. Chris Young, Justin Moore, JT Hodges, and Martina McBride all continue to move very slowly as well. Look for David Nail to crack the top 40, with Jerrod Niemann also closing in. George Strait should jump up about 10 spots or so, while Edens Edge and Greg Bates continue to do pretty well as they make headway into the top 50. Jon Pardi and Scotty McCreery look set to join them in the top 50, while Tyler Farr and James Wesley continue to spin their wheels. I'm expecting debuts this week from Kellie Pickler's "100 Proof" and Randy Houser's "How Country Feels". Little Big Town's "Pontoon", Kristen Kelly's "Ex-Old Man", Lee Brice's "Hard To Love", Jaida Dreyer's "Guy's Girl", and Montgomery Gentry's "So Called Life" could also compete for the last couple of spots on the chart.

I'm enjoying the Kenny/Tim duet's run "up" the chart. Not that I think the quality of the song matters very often, but the accelerated fake debut position coupled with the banality of the song might be holding it up. Even if two top 10 songs go recurrent -- and I'm hoping the numbers permit BB to kick Lee Brice and Blake Shelton both off -- the duet might be passed by Luke Bryan, thus unable to finish higher than #11.
Can it still be short of the top 10 in week 6? It's too early to ask that question.

I'm having trouble figuring out Craig Morgan. He's clearly not going any higher, yet TOB refuses to leave. Down in audience all week, until a random 455k gain today. As for Blake's DOI, can it leave yet? It will only hit the 20-week mark on Monday. It would be its 3rd negative week, but the 1st bullet-less week was its 2nd week at #1. So can it go 1-1-5-recurrent, or does it need another week? I was under the impression that it'd get another week, whether it was at #11 or #10.

I know that Mediabase states that weeks at #1 don't count as negative weeks, but I'm not sure if Billboard has the same policy.

Dropping Off: Lee Brice's "A Woman Like You" and Aaron Lewis' "Endless Summer"
Comments:
Still not a lot of movement on the chart this week, but the top 10 seems to be breaking up just a bit, and I really do think we'll see some 'housecleaning' in the next couple of weeks. Anyway, look for Miranda Lambert's "Over You" to come in easily at #1, with Jason Aldean's "Fly Over States" up comfortably to #2, ready to take over the top spot after Miranda. The Zac Brown Band's "No Hurry" should move into the top 5, becoming their 10th straight top 5 hit. Kip Moore's "Somethin' 'Bout A Truck" is coming up fast from behind, and Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl" has awoken from its coma. Tim McGraw's "Better Than I Used To Be" continues to hang in there and should move back into the top 10, likely to a new peak of #9. Tim's "Feel Like A Rock Star" duet with Kenny Chesney, however, has slowed to a near standstill. The duet debuted 5 weeks ago at #13, and is looking likely to spend a 3rd straight week at #12, as this week Luke Bryan's red hot summer hit "Drunk On You" should move back ahead.
Craig Morgan's "This Ole Boy" is still hanging in there, but with Toby Keith's "Beers Ago" set to move ahead, and Josh Turner, Gloriana, and The Band Perry all coming up the chart, I've gotta believe Craig will leave after this week, as he has been flat for almost 2 full weeks now, and the songs below all have more life in them and have been closing in. Look for Jana Kramer to step closer to her 1st top 20 hit, with the white hot Dierks Bentley tune "5-1-5-0" screaming up toward the top 20 as well. The Farm, Dustin Lynch, and Love & Theft continue to move up steadily. Keith Urban's "For You" should surge into the top 30, off to a pretty good start. Veterans Alan Jackson and Ronnie Dunn continue to move very slowly, both surely hoping for the chart ahead to clear somewhat. Youngster Hunter Hayes is off to a strong start and should take "Wanted" up several more notches toward the top 30. Chris Young's "Neon" has picked up the pace a bit this week, but still hasn't shaken the funk of a slow start. The going remains tough for Josh Thompson, Kix Brooks, Justin Moore, JT Hodges, and Martina McBride. Newcomer Greg Bates, however, is having a much easier time with his debut single "Did It For The Girl" closing in on the top 40. Another newcomer off to a great start is Kristen Kelly, whose debut single "Ex-Old Man" looks poised to jump all the way into the top 50. Other top 50 possibilities include Idol alums Scotty McCreery and Kellie Pickler.
With only 1 likely recurrent (Lee Brice's "A Woman Like You") and maybe only 1 or 2 more droppers (Aaron Lewis' "Endless Summer" seems likely to leave), we'll have just a couple of debuts. First in line should be Little Big Town's summer-flavored "Pontoon" and Montgomery Gentry's latest rocker "So Called Life". New singles from Blake Shelton (Over), Lee Brice (Hard To Love), and Jake Owen (The One That Got Away) are also possibilites to scrape the bottom of the chart.

It looks like Billboard does count bulletless weeks at #1 as bulletless weeks, while Mediasbase doesn't. Blake Shelton's "Drink On It" did end up going recurrent this week, after just 19 weeks on.

^Yep, at least now we know. Where was Zazie to confirm?! All that's different is that Lee and Blake switch places. Blake leaves this week, and Lee will leave next week, instead of Lee dropping off tonight and Blake getting the extra week. I'm hopeful that Lady A will continue to plunge this week and join Lee in going recurrent next Monday. Craig Morgan hasn't gone anywhere in weeks now--he needs to go, too. There are just so many strong songs coming up and the chart continues to get slower and slower...something's gotta give!

With Miranda Lambert's "Over You" going #1 on Billboard for week ending May 19, 2012, that would make 15 country singles by 15 different recording artists to reach #1 so far in 2012. The last time that happened before the end of May was in 1989.
