Finally! I hope this gets here to the top 20 at least! Any more would be icing on the cake! I've said before "100 Proof" has the quality of music and lyrics that it coulda been recorded by Sara, Reba, Martina, Faith...I mean Kellie was lucky to get it! Radio better reward her cause this song is deserving of #1

I'm continually being mystified as to why Kellie isn't a much bigger star at country radio; most of her singles are definitely women-friendly, and especially the 18-49 femmes as well as the format's key demo---women 35-44.
Nevertheless, she still makes great music, whether punchy numbers such as 'Red High Heels' to wistful tunes such as 'I Wonder'.
I love this tune as well, and the CD is terrific, and the title song in particular.

Glad to hear this finally has an official adds date! I have a good feeling about this one, especially with the way rsmatto suggested it will do based on the Music Row performance. Plus, this just sounds like the kind of song that will really get a lot of attention the way THTBM did. I'm excited not only to see this climbing up the charts, but also for the video, which I am highly anticipating.

This deserves to be Kellie's first #1 hit. Yes, it's that good.

I hope they already recorded the video. They should've done it during all this months they were promoting the song on the small markets. Now it's gonna take forever.

Great performance tool for her to be debuting this on Idol! That is, if she sings this. I'm not quick to jump to that assumption though since she may end up doing Tough, as silly as that may seem to us.

I swear, if she sings "Tough", she can just throw away her career. If she or her label don't use a huge format like American Idol to debut "100 Proof", they are just flat out idiots. Why they would choose any song other than the one Kellie is promoting at radio right now. I seriously don't see why 100 Proof wouldn't be what she sings. There really wouldn't be any point to have her perform if she were to sing anything else.
But assuming Kellie does sing 100 Proof, I am really looking forward to it. I'm sure she will be amazing live and hopefully it can have a nice debut on Billboard next week with the single after it as well as increases in sales for the song and album.

I don't know if an Idol performance will be enough to get her to debut on next Monday's chart. The song was sent to radio a week ago, and hasn't yet gotten any adds. Now, I know adds date isn't until the 16th, but I don't think an Idol performance will affect radio airplay enough to cause this one to chart on Monday. Maybe it will, but I'm not betting on it. There won't be too many songs going recurrent, and the debuts will likely go to Kenny/Tim (of course), and maybe someone like Eric Paslay or a Lionel Richie duet. And I also think that Scotty McCreery, Eden's Edge, and Keith Urban will get on the chart with their new singles before Kellie does.
I'm thinking it'll be another 2-3 charts from now before "100 Proof" makes its debut, though I suppose it's possible that it sneaks in at a very low position before then. The Idol performance will be good for sales--and the label is probably hoping it does well enough that more radio PD's are convinced to add this song come April 16th.

Yes I'm happy she's getting an idol slot! She's been one of the most visible artists to come from the show! Please sing this and please let America fall in love! Weird Simon and Paula won't be there to see her. I loved Simon's reaction to Kellie and their interaction together :)

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with all of this. I doubt she would make it on the chart for the end of this week because it will be performed on a Thursday, so only a few days of airplay will go towards the chart for this week if her performance does indeed spark interest by radio. What I meant was that hopefully following week 100 Proof would chart, although I didn't make that very clear... my apologies. I think it would have a chance after a full week of airplay after Idol, but you're right about 100's adds date not being until the 16th. I'm just hoping that radio will pick up on this song fairly quickly. This just needs to be a smash hit.

The important thing at this point is that by performing 100 Proof on Idol, Kellie would be promoting her new album that a lot of people probably don't know about yet, as well as letting people get a taste for her new single before it hits radio. I agree w/ the concensus that says the performance will not lead to much or any early radio airplay. It probably won't even sparks much sales interest yet. But it'll be good for her nonetheless.
At any rate, I can't wait to see her perform! :)

It will increase album sales for a week or two.. thats about it but thats what kellie really needs.. i actually dont think idols gonna help with radio all that much.. but just give it time 100 proof should gain ground and do well it think.. Idol is more to boost sales then anything else! At any rate, I can't wait to see her perform! :)

I think, perhaps, they think an upbeat song will resound better with the audience than a ballad... I don't think that the performance will have much, if any, effect on the airplay of the single. The exposure and sales increase, however, may have that effect. Kellie's strength is her personality, and she will really get a chance to flaunt that in "Where's Tammy..."
"100 Proof" is not going to be particularly exciting to perform as a ballad. Maybe a emphasis ballad like "Stop Cheating On Me" which is more impressive live would have shown KEllie's strength and her bold country sound. I think the thought is, perhaps, that the performance needs to stand out.

Ugh! I'm completely baffled by this decision. Such an amazing venue for this song (and single).

A stupid move and wasted opportunity for 100 Proof, which had the chance to be her top charting single IMO. I take back my post I made a few pages back, about thinking the label knows what they are doing. :(

She's performing "Where's Tammy Wynette"? I second 14887fan's notion.
In the meantime, I'll answer back...where's "100 Proof"? I'm sure it's just me, but it seems like BNA is trying to sabotage her career by making dumb moves like this. I know it's not right to blame the label for this, but this doesn't make sense. I really think "100 Proof" would be more receptive at AI (not that I watch it anymore) than "Where's Tammy Wynette?".
Please excuse me while I shake my head until my neck hurts. :'(

Did I miss the statement where BNA decided that Kellie was gonna perform "Where's Tammy Wynette"? Maybe they did decide it but how do we know it wasn't Kellie's choice, or Idol's choice?

A friend of mine speculated that she could be doing WTW because of time constraints on the one-hour show. It's what, 2:45 long? I know they blow a lot of time on the show but I do think they at least go into it with a pretty set idea how much time each segment can take, and I think there's another band performing. I'm disappointed, too, but this actually could be a fun song that will appeal to the Idol audience and, hopefully, lead some people to her album. It's by far the best she has done IMO.

It may have been Kellie's choice or even Idol's choice, but I still believe that Kellie might lose her contract the rate everything's going for her (or against her in this case). I know Kenny's her labelmate, but it seems like BNA is doing what they can (even if it means sitting on their tails, twiddling their thumbs, and watching time go by) to try to get rid of her.
I apologize for these redundant and useless posts. I tend to play the blame game whenever I get angry about something. Here, I'm pretty darn furious, to be honest with everyone. I'm not necessarily cursing at the top of my lungs or beating up my mattress, but instead, I'm massively disappointed and am using alternate ways to release my (mental) anger.
I may need to take a break from here for a while and reorganize my priorities (besides lurking in here every now and again).

I wonder if Idol may have wanted her to edit 100 Proof since it does mention alcohol. I know that may sound ridiculous but it wouldn't surprise me.

I believe if "100 Proof" dies, then so will her contract. Idol is the biggest audience she can possibly have to debut her new single and then Ryan say "call your stations to request it."
I don't think alcohol is any problem with her singing it on Idol. Afterall Skyler sang "Gunpowder and Lead" last week and that involves drinking, beating, and shooting, lol!
If its a time restraint, then "100 Proof" is an easy song to edit.
I see no excuse why this won't be performed, no matter who made this idiotic choice.
And no offense to Tammy, but most of Idol's audience doesn't even know who she is, as her music hasn't been played by radio on a regular basis in well over 25 years. I don't see how Kellie performing this song will excite fans to run out and buy her album the next day.
Scotty's CD tripled its sales from the week before from his Idol appearance. Idol is a great platform if used properly. But I can't see any reason why this was the proper decision.
