Some album #4 news. As if I wasn't already excited.... @sterloid Recently played on some new songs for Taylor Swift and Pink penned by the great Dan Wilson. Both songs were awesome. That dude is a hitmaker (He clarified that Taylor's song was a Taylor/Dan Wilson co-write when someone asked) Aaron Sterling (@sterloid) is a drummer. Here's a LIST of people he's recorded with. And Dan Wilson, most recently, co-wrote and produced a little song called "Someone Like You". He also co-wrote half of the songs on the Dixie Chicks' "Taking The Long Way" album, including "Not Ready to Make Nice". And a bunch of other stuff... And I don't know if it's been mentioned, but it also seems like she's working with producer Butch Walker. There were pictures of them leaving his recording studio in Santa Monica a few weeks ago. Pretty sure she's still doing a majority of the album with Nathan Chapman, but it looks like she's mixing in some other producers this time as well. I'm so glad that she's branching out in so many ways. For the first 3 albums she had the same producer, wrote pretty much everything on her own or with Liz, and used most of the same musicians. She said she wanted to be a "sponge" with this album and learn as much as she could from people she's always wanted to work with.

This could be her most creative album yet.
I seem to remember that she worked with Bruno Mars as well?

This is gong to be a great album.Ed Sheeran,Mark Foster,Butch Walker Lots of involvement from other sources. Taylor has said in the past she wants to do a song with Bruno Mars.Nothing set in stone althrough. :) Song of the Week: 'Both of Us,' B.o.B featuring Taylor SwiftPublished: Friday, May 18, 2012, 8:00 AM By Tris McCall/The Star-Ledger Bobby Ray "B.o.B" Simmons was born to infuriate purists. Hip-hop’s most prominent crossover artist created the template for the modern pop-rap song in 2010 on "The Adventures of Bobby Ray." This year, he refined it on "Strange Clouds." Those who loathed him for smearing Day-Glo paint all over hip-hop’s otherwise grim facade will hate "Strange Clouds" even more than they hated "Adventures." The synthesizer sounds are glossier, the melodies cheesier, the beats splashier, the philosophical musings are spacier. And the collaborations with pop stars are showier. His is hip-hop with pastels and unicorns; hip-hop your 7-year-old cousin can love. But can a hip-hop fan of any age dismiss it outright as pablum? No way. To pop-rap haters, the maddening thing about B.o.B is that his talent is undeniable. He isn’t a vacuous pretty face matched with top-drawer production by industry star-makers. He is a verbally dextrous emcee, a witty punch line rapper and a storyteller of considerable imagination. "Beast Mode," a single released between albums as an answer to his critics, was 3½ minutes of pure microphone virtuosity, a hailstorm of verse delivered in shifting rhythmic patterns. B.o.B is also a fine musician and plays many of the instruments on his recordings himself. A fan of traditional piano pop and guitar-rock, he often structures his songs according to classic models. The tracks on "Strange Clouds" groove plenty, but they’ve got chord changes, too. As another Southern emcee once memorably put it, trill recognize trill. B.o.B likes working with songwriters and knows a good one when he hears one. On "Adventures," he brought in Hayley Williams from the rock band Paramore to sing on "Airplanes," a dramatic, angst-driven fusion of hip-hop and emo-pop. B.o.B’s verses — a complaint about the pressures and politics of the music industry — were miles removed from the swagger typical of rap music. It shouldn’t have worked, but it did: "Airplanes" was one of the most successful singles of 2010, and its production has been copied on albums by Lupe Fiasco, the Game, Tinie Tempah and others looking to score a crossover hit. "Both of Us," which is going to be a blockbuster, is the product of an even more audacious pairing. B.o.B has landed Taylor Swift as a collaborator — or perhaps it’s more accurate to say that Swift, who apparently loves hip-hop and was looking for a way to dip a toe in the waters without shattering her image, landed the good-natured Simmons. The single is not unlike "Airplanes": It gives both stars an opportunity to do what they do best in settings that won’t feel unfamiliar to fans. Swift sings one of her typically titanic hooks, complete with the romantic yearning that has made her indispensable, over acoustic guitar. Then the beat kicks in and B.o.B gets ruminative, rhyming about poverty, perseverance and the tyranny of self-consciousness. Just like "Airplanes," this is a ship that should not sail. It should fall into pieces and sink to the bottom of the ocean on the weight of its own conceit. Instead, the two halves of the song fit as snug as a firm handshake. Even if Swift and the rapper never exactly seem to be in dialogue, they’re both pushing hard toward the same goal. That’s the part that B.o.B’s many imitators haven’t been able to recapture. They’ve welded big pop hooks to earnest, soul-searching rhymes, but invariably, it feels like a marriage of convenience. Sometimes, B.o.B’s songs really are assembly-line products: "Airplanes" wasn’t even written for him. But because he understands classic pop as well as he does, his dangerous alchemy gets him gold. Amateur producers: Don’t try this experiment at home. www.nj.com/entertainment/music/index.ssf/2012/05/song_of_the_week_both_of_us_bo.html

Not really confirmed, but so far: Lori McKenna Dan Wilson Ed Sheeran Nathan Chapman Butch Walker (maybe?)
I'm holding out hope she and T-Bone worked (or will work) on a song for the album. Also, did the Greg Wells version of "Safe & Sound" ever get released?

Lori McKenna... That song must make the album. I'm hoping for a Ryan Adams collaboration to come soon too. This album seems to be one about working with the "greats" of today's songwriters.

I loved that she wrote on her own Speak Now. But I'm glad she's collaborating with some really cool names this time around. While Speak Now was a brilliant album, these collaborations could give her music some cool new topics.

I hope Taylor & B.O.B do a video for "Both of Us". I think that song has the potential to be one of the biggest hits of the summer.

Glad she's finally working with some other songwriters, I think this is the best move for her and her music. Stripped down music is what Taylor does best. ("Last Kiss", "Tim McGraw", even "Safe and Sound")

Well there is a rumor that Taylor is shooting a music video in California this weekend. Is it for Both of Us? It was sent to CHR yesterday and I believe B.o.B. has had a music video for every single. They could even film it like Airplanes where B.o.B. was filmed separately from Hayley Williams.

I can confirm that Taylor did write a song with Lori McKenna, though I'm not sure how recent the session was. It may have been a while ago when they were both on tour with the Rascal Flatts.

Are you talking about the co-write she did with Lori McKenna entitled "I Bet You Think About Me" ? I wonder if that will make the 4th album.

I think this album is going to be even more country oriented but also a lot more rock inspired, if that makes sense. It'll be like SN, except the "pop" tracks will be more rock-esque, and the country tracks will be less pop and more country. Anyways, Taylor and Rihanna had dinner together last night in Malibu.

Taylor Swift exhibit opens before CMA Music FestBy Dave Paulson, The (Nashville) Tennessean Starting next week, visitors to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will see a lot more of Taylor Swift. A new exhibition, Taylor Swift: Speak Now — Treasures From the World Tour, will open at the museum June 6 and run through Nov. 4, featuring costumes, instruments, props and set pieces from the country/pop superstar's 2011-2012 Speak Now world tour. The exhibit opens as country fans stream into downtown Nashville for the CMA Music Festival, which runs June 7-10. Museum director Kyle Young says the Swift exhibition is potentially the first in a series of short-run exhibitions that the museum would open over summer months in years to come. "Taylor is at the forefront of what's going on now in music, and we strive to be relevant," Young says. "This lends itself to a large exhibition, simply because of how elaborate the tour itself was." Swift's new exhibit comes on the heels of the museum's May 17 announcement that she has pledged $4 million — the largest monetary donation by an artist in the museum's history — to fund a new 7,500-square-foot education center at the museum. The new Taylor Swift Education Center will serve five to six times its current number of guests, offering three classrooms and a state-of-the-art children's exhibit gallery spread over two floors. Young says the exhibition isn't connected to Swift's donation; it simply grew out of their conversations. Dedicating an exhibition of this size to a contemporary subject is a new move for the museum, which reported that 38% of its visitors in 2011 were 34 and under. The exhibition was assembled by the museum's curatorial staff and will re-create 10 scenes from the Speak Now production. Among the dozens of pieces featured are nine of Swift's stage outfits; stage instruments including guitars, banjo and ukulele; and the "Juliet Balcony" that Swift used to "fly" over audiences during concerts. www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/story/2012-05-29/taylor-swift-exhibit/55252898/1

There's pictures of Taylor and Ed Sheeran leaving a recording studio in Santa Monica yesterday. If the song they recorded isn't a duet, he must at least be doing backing vocals on it. He flew all the way from London just for this recording session.
I'm thinking maybe Butch Walker is producing it? I know his studio's in Santa Monica.

Lame they didn't show the performance. Not likely, but I wonder if she performed something new. I guess someone would have tweeted/posted about it if that happened though.

She did "Love Story" and "Mean". They're way too tight with everything now, ever since Fearless, for her to perform a new song before it's been officially released. :( Speaking of, they should be wrapping up recording soon! "Story of Us" was the last song written and recorded for SN and it was recorded on June 14th.

You have to keep in mind at the CMA Festival a few years ago, "Mine" was played before it was officially released there.Taylor played it for a group of select fans.
Speaking of the performances from the Wal-Mart Event here they are-

You have to keep in mind at the CMA Festival a few years ago, "Mine" was played before it was officially released there.Taylor played it for a group of select fans. That was an entirely different situation. It was a closed set, everyone that was there wasn't allowed to say anything about the song...and they didn't, and the video didn't air until after the song had been officially released. They did the same thing with LS four years ago. So yeah, she could do something like that again. But we're still not going to hear about it until after the song's been officially released. And she's not going to perform a new song at an event like this. She had a few shows in Europe the week before Speak Now came out, and "Mine" was still the only song she performed from it.

Yeah I know about those stuff,I remember a few people who were there on a few Taylor forums who were posting they were there a few years ago. You may remember it being mentioned on various Taylor forums. These took place at the CMA Fest.Well Taylor debuted her performance of "Back In December" in Paris before Speak Now came out.She did a special show in Paris. Those fans were selected for the performance of "Mine" were a selected group of fans.
