DIGITAL RELEASE: FEB 14Good to know; I was wondering why this hadn't been released to Itunes already. I guess it makes sense considering they just shot the video, and it should be out around the same time this is released. I have a feeling they'll be doing the "Itunes Countdown" thing, and I can't shake the feeling that "Changed" will be one of the tracks we'll hear before the full album release.

^Holding back on the lead single a bit makes sense to me. I know most other artists in other genres send it out right away, but with Big Machine doing it like this, they can get a bigger Hot 100 debut.
I don't really care for that chart, because sales and airplay combined seems like a silly way to rank things, but I could see them wanting a higher Hot 100 debut. Rascal Flatts has a big enough fan base that, top 20 airplay on country radio, combined with first week sales, could give this one a decent debut on the Hot 100. Several of their past lead singles have done well, including "What Hurts The Most" getting up to #6, "Take Me There" at #19, and "Here Comes Goodbye" getting to #11. "Why Wait" didn't debut too high, and only managed a #48 peak, despite 2 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, but the strong airplay and sales for "I Won't Let Go" got that one up to #31.
And while I still hate how Big Machine pushed their last single, "Easy", I fully believe that the label has also done plenty of good for the trio, keeping them at or near the top when it comes to groups. All 3 singles from their last album did well--"Easy" would've made #3 on Billboard even without that big push. And now "Banjo" is climbing quickly, and they're still holding their own with Lady A, ZBB, and some friendly competition from within the Big Machine umbrella, courtesy of The Band Perry, and to a lesser extent, the Eli Young Band.
I'm not really a fan, but I would buy their material if they seek out some good stuff. It's been a long time since my favorite single from them (Fast Cars And Freedom), but I'll still be interested to see what they churn out on their upcoming album.

It's been a long time since my favorite single from them (Fast Cars And Freedom), but I'll still be interested to see what they churn out on their upcoming album. Good point; I never thought about that. If they wait to release the single the video will probably have to follow soon; releasing both around the same time could give them a decent sales bump, and it'll keep the interest around them for awhile. I agree that Big Machine has been great to them so far; I wasn't a huge fan of the idea at first, but RF really needed a change of pace, and going with BM was a smart move, from every angle. Lyric Street severely mishandled the "Unstoppable" era, and a lot of people thought it was the last nail in the coffin after the emergence of Lady A. Needless to say I'm happy they're getting the chance to experiment and explore different opportunities, because it seems they all have an interest in dabbling in all kinds of ventures. Funny you mentioned "Fast Cars And Freedom;" I know quite a few people who can't stand it because they don't understand the analogy of comparing a woman's youth to fast cars and freedom... . It is one of my favorite uptempo singles from them, but I also have liked most of their recent material (with the exception of "Unstoppable," which I find almost unbearable, with the exception of "Why"). I'm just glad to see they've stepped away from the overcooked production and Gary has toned down the dramatic vocals. I'm really interested to see what they came up with when producing a few songs together, and it seems they have lots of great plans in store. :)

I'd like to see them get a big hit on the Hot 100. They had really nice digital success with their last two singles, so they definitely still have the power there; its just a matter of capitalizing on it.

"Banjo" is the Greatest Gainer for the 2nd straight week, landing at #19 on Billboard (full chart will come tonight, of course). I had thought they'd land at #20, so they either a) just barely passed Scotty or b) got some help from Justin Moore going recurrent.
Normally I'd be tempted to say Justin went recurrent but I'm not sure. There were only 2 debuts--Eric Church's "Springsteen" at #52, and Thomas Rhett's "Something To Do With My Hands" at #58. And I know there were at least 2 other songs (other than Justin) that definitely went recurrent--ZBB's "Keep Me In Mind" and Faith Hill's "Come Home". Kevin Fowler's "That Girl" had been bullet-less for 2 straight weeks, so I predicted he'd likely leave...but maybe he didn't.
Perhaps Justin did go recurrent, but that still doesn't explain which 2 previously charted songs would be below Thomas Rhett. I suppose Steve Holy's not-in-a-hurry-to-go-anywhere single "Until The Rain Stops" could be one of them. But there's no way that last week's #60 song, Thompson Square's "Glass", could be that low...more than likely it's close to the top 50. And Josh Abbott Band's "Touch" was only at #58, getting airplay on just a couple stations, but I see it got some big spins in Houston this past week, so more than likely it gained a few positions. Clay Walker, Katie Armiger, and Neal McCoy aren't going to go up fast but I don't see how either of them could've fallen below Thomas Rhett at #58.
So maybe Justin got a grace week, and instead, the Flatts' extra position came from squeaking past Scotty (the pass would've happened next week anyway). And I suppose there could've been a song re-enter the chart with a very low audience total. I guess I should quit trying to figure it out...the chart will be out soon enough. Until then, I can't guess with any certainty as to whether Justin Moore went recurrent (but please, I hope he did).

'Wake Me Up' could also qualify. I noticed that about 'Church' too; I've heard that the tracklists/art for albums can be changed up until the last minute, so I'm thinking they cut it, and then decided 'Next To You, Next To Me' was a better choice. It sounds like they cut a few Shanendoah songs. I love both, and I'm excited to hear this. A lot of these titles sound interesting; Hurry Baby, Let It Hurt, Sunrise, A Little Home, Come Wake Me Up, Fall Here...I also love that there are lots of longer songs tittles; some of their short ones tend to be predictable.

Meh, the titles don't interest me too much. Then again, they aren't typical of doing that, so I didn't expect it. Hopefully the music is good though. I also love that there are lots of longer songs tittles; some of their short ones tend to be predictable. Depends on what you consider long, I guess. But to me, the only two that qualify would be two of the bonus tracks.

And "Sunrise" is often an euphemism for..........(shakes head frantically).........I'm stopping there! The Flatts have sure changed alright. Gone are the days of maudlin lovelorn expressions and schmaltzy power ballads. Now.........they are bringing sexy back! ;) * I disagree about the length of the song titles. This is actually among their most apt set of song titles to date. Half of the standard edition's listing consists of two words or less. Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

What the price will be for a deluxe version of Change.... Wow, I've never had to pay that much for an album. If you buy them on or before the release date sometimes you get better deals. iTunes usually sells Deluxe Edition albums for around 13.99, but you can usually find the same album for a decent price from Amazon or another big retailer. Also, Rascal Flatts always have 11 tracks on their standard albums; anything more is classified as a 'bonus track.' I'm glad to see they're doing the deluxe edition album again, because they had extra content on their first 4 albums and then got away from it for a bit; although I like the Behind The Scenes type stuff, I always want more music. :) I uncovered a few of the songwriters for tracks on 'Changed,' although I noticed many of the songs aren't listed. Here are the ones I've uncovered so far 'Great Big Love' MARTI FREDERIKSEN, GARY LEVOX and KARA DIAGUARDI 'Let It Hurt' JAY DEMARCUS, GORDIE SAMPSON, CAITLYN SMITH 'Sunrise' JOE DON ROONEY, NATHAN CHAPMAN Taylor Swift also had 3 bonus tracks on Speak Now, but Big Machine released acoustic versions of some songs later on; I'll be curious to see what their marketing strategy will be with RF, since they've had a chance to get this one together and they probably have a more secure plan in place now that they're on to the second BM album.

They've cut a ton of songs by Mobely over the years and they've frequented Seller's cuts over the past few years, so now I'm thinking this listing is the accurate one, but I suppose we'll see come April. SUNRISE JENKINS PAUL JARRET MOBLEY WENDELL LEE SELLERS JASON D LOVIN' ME SHAPIRO TOM THRASHER JOE NEIL
Shaprio confirmed awhile ago he has cut on the album, too.

I actually have Caitlyn Smith's demo of Let It Hurt and it's a great song. It could make a good single at some point.

Here are the lyrics to "Let It Hurt," fantastic song. Thanks Mairy! ;) 7: 42 in the morning, 8 seconds before it all sinks in Put your best face on for the world Fake another smile and just pretend That you’re just puttin’ off the pain, nothin’s ever really gonna change
Chorus:
Let it hurt, let it bleed Let it take you right down to your knees Let it burst ‘till it hurts to breathe May not be what you want but it’s what you need Sometimes the only way around it is to let God do His work And let it hurt
3:28 in the mornin' countin’ up the spaces between the rain (?) You’re getting used to the rocks at the bottom Your heart goes numb but the lonely stays the same That’s the price you vow to pay And there’s really nothing anyone can say Oh, there's only just one way Let it hurt, let it bleed, let it take you right down to your knees Let it burst ‘till it hurts to breathe It may not be what you want but it’s what you need Sometimes the only way around it is to let God do his work So go on and let it hurt
Might just find you’re better for it When you let go and you know To let it hurt, let it bleed Let it burst ‘till it hurts to breathe May not be what you want but it’s what you need Sometimes the only way around it is to let God do his work So go on and let it hurt

Haha, the music video is great. The ending was gold, but I pretty much loved everything about it. It embodies the energy of the song really well. I love cranking this up on the radio, and I hope this eventually sails to the penthouse. Wouldn't object to it spending a few weeks there, either. ;)

Just cannot get into this song. Gary LeVox's voice has just never be a favorite of mine. Too nasally.
