According to The Tennessean, she's performing a medley of the Blown Away singles at the CMAs. And, here's a nice write-up about The Sound of Music from the NY Post. Excerpt: "She's one of those people who showed up the first day and knew every line of the script and every note of every song," Zadan says. "She's an unbelievably hard worker." And, Zadan reports, the twang is gone.

So its looking like DYTAM, WAW and GIG won't ever have a chance as singles huh? :( No, Carrie confirmed a while ago that there will be no more singles from the Blown Away album. (Which I still don't understand since we're at least a year away from a new album, but oh well.)

From what I have seen of Carrie in interviews, late night shows, and even singing, it appears to me that Carrie is in control of when and where and with whom she displays her 'twang'. She seems to use it and lose it at will. So I have no doubt that with the added emphasis on word pronunciation that tiny, I itty-bitty residual 'twang' is on vacation. On another note, this article was fantastic. And it brings to light some of the changes/transformations Carrie has to make to, her vocal deliveries, and speech which, to my mind are far more difficult than having her hair cut.

If we aren't going to get a 5th single, it would be nice to at least see an album track performed at the CMAs and get some exposure that way. Oh well.

I'm completely disappointed (but not surprised), Carrie won't be doing an unexpected CMA performance.
I would love to see another epic, gorgeous performance from her, such as something along the lines of JAD from the 2008 CMA's.
She's arguably the biggest female in the format, and one of the few who truly delivers epic performances at these shows. I was really hoping she'd throw the audience for a loop, or give us something unexpected, considering this era is done and these songs have been heard before.
It doesn't help that I've found every BA-era performance underwhelming, with the exception of her Grammy performance. Sigh.
Carrie deserves her chance to shine, but she rarely gets the chance to stand out at these awards shows. I really hope she gets an additional performance slot, because she deserves better than this.

I think Carrie probably wanted to keep her CMA performance simple this year, since she hasn't had a lot of time to rehearse. We'll hopefully get something more exciting at the ACMs.

This makes it seem like the CMAs fault. Anyway, I get that she might not have time to rehearse some big new/crazy number, but she did a lot of non-singles on tour so Carrie and the band should be rehearsed enough to do one. And, really, learning a medley is tricky because there are a lot of edits. That would be more work than doing a song the same way she'd been doing it on tour.

I'm sure the medley will be ALL KINDS of epic. I would have loved something different/new... but she doesn't have anything to promote right now except TSOM, and obviously she can't promote NBC's production on ABC... I think it's a nice way to commemorate what was truly an incredible era and chapter in Carrie's career - perhaps the first one that really opened the eyes of critics, and maintained Carrie's commercial success. I'm excited for tomorrow! Regardless of the results, it surely will be an entertaining Carrie-filled night!

I'm super-pleased with the Carrie's artistic growth and commercial success of this past era: multiple platinum/multi-platinum singles, great album sales, music video EVENTS, and super-impressive touring stats. Therefore, I am quite looking forward to her era-closing medley (not to mention seeing Carrie on television as it seems to be FOREVER (not really) since she has performed on television) !

No "Music Video of the Year" for Carrie. Tim McGraw and company won both collaboration and video...

It's too bad that Arista is not releasing a fifth single from Blown Away. It could have been cross promoted on Sunday Night Football, the C.M.A.s, and the Sound Of Music. It would have guaranteed a double platinum honor.

No "Music Video of the Year" for Carrie. Tim McGraw and company won both collaboration and video... This doesn't bode well, in my opinion. That was the category I thought she had the best chance of winning :( Of course, "HDC" had the support of two labels...

Yes, it was perceived as Carrie's best shot at winning. Also, though, it may show that Miranda and Blake don't have the same votes coming in as they've had the past couple years. I don't know what it means, but this more or less shows that tonight might not be the fourth annual Blake&Miranda awards... So I still think Carrie has a shot at something, though a very slight one at best. Fingers crossed that she takes home Vocalist!!!

Ugh, did she really have to cater to the conservatives with the Obamacare jokes? I mean, I get it. It's country music. It was decent otherwise.

Conservatives are not the only folks who find the rollout of "Obamacare" to be rather embarrasing....... WOAH- Carrie's performance perfectly closed the era for me. Probably her best televised performances of all of her singles to date. Generally speaking, medleys run the risk of falling flat as they mesh from one another, but these were well done, IMO. Carrie's vocal and confidence on her tracks is just amazing as a top-notch performer and vocalist. Country music is so lucky to have her in their genre- a legend, IMO, already. The lack of a standing ovation despite multiples ones for earlier performances irked me..... A++

I loved how the lyrics about moving on - goodbye shoes, blown away, bye-bye, I will see you again - tied the whole thing together. It really was the perfect 'farewell...for now' performance. So well put together. It made me want to really stan again.

However, I can virtually guarantee that a good majority of the television audience and actual country stars in the stadium want this law to be abolished for whatever reason. They played to their audience. They (Brad & Carrie) threw themselves into this debate. Now they have to deal with the consequences. P.S. - Keith Urban and Tim McGraw looked pissed during that song.

Thanks for my correcting my typo. Unless I am completely out of touch, I HIGHLY doubt that Brad/Carrie will deal any "consequences" from the Obamacare jokes from tonight's show, lol. SNL, Comedy Central, late night comedy, and another mainstream comedy-themed shows regularly joke about the Obamacare FAIL to date.

Are there going to be any consequences? Is it really that big of a deal? At this point, I feel like pretty much every late night comedian has thrown some snark at the roll-out of Obamacare. I would prefer Brad & Carrie avoid politics altogether but this didn't bother me. I was more disappointed w/ the Hank Williams Jr. gag they pulled that one time.

I worked the red carpet tonight so I missed the opening from Carrie & Brad. Could someone post it if they find it somewhere?

I mean, really? I'm not from the US, but I find it hilariously embarrassing that the website rollout is a flop. Why does it even matter which political side you're on? It seems to me that sometimes, "controversies" are just created out of nothing.

Another year, another shout-out. Carrie's lack of EOTY nomination and being shut out of every category speaks volumes to her place among the nomination and voting committees. As much as I truly don't understand it, I am over it...
