I love that Carrie has more co-writes than she ever had before. Eight, without knowing the writers of all the songs. What an accomplishment, and it shows she truly is growing as an artist with every album.

Yes!!! Really looking forward to hearing all of these, including "Two Black Cadillacs", "Nobody Ever Told You", "Good in Goodbye" (anyone wanna bet it'll be a single? ), "Cupid's Got a Shotgun" and "Wine After Whiskey". Maybe she'll do an iTunes countdown again?

Hillary Lindsey has 8 co-writes in Blown Away. She must be smiling all the way to the bank.

Maybe she'll do an iTunes countdown again? I kind of hope not. And if she does, I hope she doesn't use all of the iTunes Countdown songs as the actual radio singles. That totally ruined the PO era for me.

The order of the tracklist seems odd to me in the first few songs... 1: Good Girl- Upbeat, fun, song about a good girl who needs to see that her boyfriend is no good. 2: Blown Away- More serious dark song? Deaths perhaps? A Storm? 3: Two Black Cadillacs- Song about death? Sad?
IDK I just feel like going from a fun catchy upbeat rockin' song to some more dark, deep songs could be a little strange for a transition. But then again we haven't heard any songs yet and we don't know what they sound like or what they are about. I just want the order to go better than Play On did.

But ''Good Girl'' is quite serious too, I think, in it's message. Not as serious as the other songs will probably be, but still. But I definitely agree, I hope this album flows better then Play On did. Especially the ''Change'' to ''Undo It'' to "SWISLY'' transition didn't work for me. I didn't mind the transition from ''Just a Dream'' to ''Get Out of This Town'' on Carnival Ride, though, so who knows.

Wow; didn't really think about "Two Black Cadillacs" possibly being about death or a funeral. I was thinking more about the cars instead of the hearses. Hopefully her dark songs won't be too dark.
As far as an iTunes countdown, I kinda hope it doesn't happen neither. This time around, I'm gonna wait until May 1 to listen to the whole album. OK, maybe I'll listen to clips if they ever come out, but I won't listen to a leak.

i didnt mind it too because while get out of this town is uptempo, its certainly not an upbeat, fun song. for me it always carried a poignant, sad feel to it....
but i agree with you that play on didnt flow that good, and probably contributed to the criticism of being carries "worst" album to date than it really is.

Thank God for Hometowns has a sentimental feel toward it. It sounded great and will definitely connect with a lot of people. I like Hillary Lindsay, but 8 co-writes.... really? There are so many amazing writers in Nashville and Carrie seems to record songs from like the same 4 or 5. That said, I hope this is a great album and I can't wait to hear what they came up with.

Everyone was talking about that Lori McKenna chick, but it seems none of her songs made it.
Also, I hate to say it, but it looks like cohesiveness is going to be lacking on this album. I'll wait til I hear it before I judge, but we have "Good Girl", and then apparently sad/dark songs about death (Two Black Cadillacs, most likely).
I love Temporary Home from Play On, but that song, along with "Change" did not fit on the album.

I think we'll have to wait to clearly judge cohesiveness. The songs can be totally different and have different overall themes and still have something that ties everything together.
Also, the track list looks great and all along with the songwriters. But I would have loved to see some different names, but I do understand and am confident that these songs are top notch. I'd love to hear Carrie do some Lori McKenna or Sarah Buxton or something, but Hillary is definitely very talented!
The clip of "Thank God For Hometowns" is the type of country song that I've always wanted to hear from Carrie and for me, brings me back to that small town girl feeling I felt from many tracks off of her first album. It's nostalgic in a very good way and will surely connect with many folks out there.

4. See You Again Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this one of the songs she wrote for the Narnia movie? If so, I'm betting the song will be a song about people going separate ways (or one person leaving for some reason), but they'll see each other again someday (like a graduation sounding song). Considering it was competing with There's a Place for Us for Narnia, I'd say they probably are similar (meaning it's not gonna be a song like Miley's "See You Again", it will be a song that could fit in a children's movie). Maybe the song could be interpreted as someone dying and they'll see them again in heaven. If so, then it would probably fit well going after Two Black Cadillacs on the album, if that song is indeed about a hearse and funeral. But I wouldn't get too concerned about the order of the tracks until we hear the record. So y'all just chill for now

After reading all of this, I'm thinking about posting a sarcastic album review for this over the weekend about how I think the songs will sound. The sad thing is that I'd feel pretty stupid once the album does come out.

Yea, I'm sure she's not going to be "off" at all. She has to prepare for the tour and other stuff she has going on which we have no clue about. I'm just being selfish in that I want to see her in concert NOW! lol

So much for her "tour her face off" this year comment, eh? Oh, Carrie.

So I guess we can't expect an EOTY win this Fall. :(

So much for her "tour her face off" this year comment, eh? Oh, Carrie. It is possible she thought at one point she would be touring more in 2012? I'm a little disappointed, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. This also allows more time for promotional appearances throughout the Summer. What I'm 'nervous' about is her chance at EOTY at the CMAs. Granted, she has never been nominated before so there's no reason to think she ever would. Still, Touring Fall/Spring when the CMAs aren't until the next Fall is tough. By the time voting comes around, voters often forget everything past the previous season. Obviously there are many other things to consider. If she has a smash hit next Summer, everything could change. Still, sometimes Carrie's timing throws me off. No big deal, I'm sure everything will fall into place, but I'm always one to worry and this is no different.

I didn't listen to that interview but did it say a specific time when the tour would be starting? A lot of people were always assuming June-ish, but even then, doesn't the CMA eligibility period end around then? I was never planning on Carrie getting an EOTY nomination at the 2012 CMA's. Probably 2013 ACM's and CMA's, though.
Besides, fall 2012 could mean as early as August, when school starts. But if it's a little later, so what? Carrie took her time to finish the album and she's going to really bring it when the tour gets underway, I'm sure. I'll bet she wanted the tour to be as big as possible and is really working on how to do things and where to perform, and it will all come into place. So I'm sure she'll be doing plenty of touring later this year.

She's touring in 2012 and the album drops in just a little over a month. Don't be complaining about awards, because between this year and next, we will be getting spoiled as hell. So I guess we can't expect an EOTY win this Fall. :( LOL I've lost all hope in an EOTY nod for Carrie from the CMAs. If it ever comes along, I'll just be purely shocked, because if she got snubbed for her mega-sized 2010 over Zac Brown Band, Miranda Lambert, and Lady Antebellum, then it's clear that the CMAs don't know shit. Oh, well. That's an entirely separate argument that's long gone and passed on.

The tracklisting looks incredible and although people are a bit disappointed with so much Lindsey, I'm actually ok with it. She's a very talented writer and maybe having all of her songs written by a select 6/7 writers will help album cohesiveness.

Hollie Cavanagh from this year's American Idol should be singing something from Carrie this week... she tweeted thanking Carrie for the necklace and letter and told her to try watch this week's Idol...
I guess if someone can sing Carrie's songs, it's her... super anxious now!!
