I certainly don't mind this April Fool joke at all. Sales as good as Adele's?

^ So she does open the show with GG. For a while there, when Chris Young said he would be in the opening with Carrie and a few other artists, I thought it would be a group performance of a different song.. then GG would come later in the show. GG would be a great opening number!
As for the international tour, I hope there are Asian dates. But realistically, she'll probably visit Australia again and have a few European stops doing small concerts like what Brad and Martina did. It would be great timing for her to do that before her US tour. She and Mike can go and do a vacation/work thing.

4 hours until The acm preshow on GAC, and 5 hours until the actual awards show. Can't wait for Carrie singing Good Girl.

She said she's gonna try to dance for the performance tonight.... oh goodness. lol Carrie Underwood might make her performance of new single “Good Girl” on the Academy of Country Music Awards tonight look effortless, but she promises it’s harder than it looks. “This is my first TV performance of anything from my new album,” she said before the show. “The song whips my butt. I’ve been working on breath control. We wrote a really hard song that day, and I tend to pick hard songs to sing because I like a challenge. I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed. Our first rehearsal was a little rough. You just have to figure out where to breathe. We think when we’re on stage. I’m like a duck paddling under the surface, but hopefully I look cool.” Underwood’s new album Blown Away will be in stores May 1. blogs.tennessean.com/tunein/2012/04/01/carrie-underwood-keeping-fingers-crossed-about-tonights-acm-performance/

Just in case anyone didn't know, BBC's Radio 2 in the UK has added "Good Girl" to their play list and the song has been taken off iTunes. I guess they're finally going for an International push!

Some pitch/breath control issues, but there's a lot of movement.
The bridge should be interesting. Hope she nails it.

Good performance, but I could hardly hear her over the music sometimes. They need to work on that.

Yikes... That paled in comparison to those first performances we got of the song.

Good performance, but I could hardly hear her over the music sometimes. They need to work on that. I feel like this is always a problem for Carrie on these shows, it's so annoying.

This stupid show always seems to have sound problems... I always feel like she is singing loud to keep up with the loud band. :(

Yeah, it was OK. I guess its a good thing she still gets nervous for these things, but you could tell it affected her performance.

Oh, and the last notes were especially rough.
I enjoyed it, but it goes to show that if she's going to nail that song, she has to stand there and sing... all the moving doesn't bode well for her.

I get the feeling that there were too many issues during rehearsal w/ all of the movement and stuff so they kinda threw together whatever they could in order to manage.
She sounded good and looked fantastic, though.

Now to watch it's iTunes performance...
I'm hoping it can at least climb back into the Top 20/15. We'll see.

Not one of her best. No dancing and she was still out of breath.

It just sucks b/c she has been nailing "Good Girl" vocally EVERYWHERE. I wish they had just planted her atop a platform, surrounded by cool lighting or something, and let her belt it out.

Good performance, but I could hardly hear her over the music sometimes. They need to work on that. We say that every year. It's clearly not going to change. To me that's why Carrie should go for a more scaled back (even unplugged) performance at these things.

Yeah, there was definitely breath/pitch issues. I love Carrie, and still loved the performance, but they have to figure out something. I don't need her to be dancing around for these kinds of songs. I'd rather her just stand there and nail it vocally. I think she was nervous too though.

I havent seen a single bad thing on twitter about it. So, that's good. In all honesty, at Carrie's worst she's still better than most.

^^ that is so true I think a lot of the breath problems were nerves. Still loved it! She'll nail it in concert just like she did at the Opry the other night.

MJs posted the video. Whew! That was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting based on the initial comments. She lost her breath, but nothing about the performance to be embarrassed about.
