I didn't mean that she sounded bad or anything. I just think it's a little disappointing considering her previous performances have been pretty much immaculate and this happens to be the one that's televised to the masses, y'know?
Anyway...

That was horrible. Why are you all trying to sugar coat it? It wasn't good. Not even remotely. It was awful. She sounded bad. I was embarrassed for her.

Anyway... :bows: This wasn't bad. At all. In fact, it was quite good. And I am not getting the comments about the dancing. She doesn't dance much. At all. And she has had great performances where she moved around a lot (like "Walk This Way" last year).

I am embarrassed for you. Hypocrite. You pretty much said the same thing and then tried to save face.

I'm convinced it was the nerves. Carrie even said in the video confirming her opening the show how nervous she was. This isn't her only live performance of this. There's plenty more to come before the album release, I'm sure she'll redeem herself there in terms of promo.
It just sucks that this particular show happened to be the one with the hiccups.

Movement really isn't the issue, it's the choreography that doesn't jive w/ Carrie. Like you can tell that it overwhelms her, even the simplest stuff. Hypocrite. You pretty much said the same thing and then tried to save face. No. I didn't. Try again.

So... I loved it. I don't get the hate. The ACMs are notorious for having sound issues, especially at the start of the show. Carrie stunned even if the vocal was a bit rough. Excellent launch for a mediocre sound stage.

Man, I was fearing the worst after reading some of the comments here. She didn't sound perfect, for sure, but it wasn't a bad performance. She's sang the song better live before, yes. But I still think tonight was a performance to be proud of.
(And could she look any more gorgeous tonight? WOW.)

Haven't watched, but if it's an off performance it will hardly matter. The general public judges live vocal performances by looks, staging, and reputation before the actual vocals presented, and Carrie excels in those categories.

Next year, she'll dominate with BA. I just have a feeling.

Next year, she'll dominate with BA. I just have a feeling. BA will be one of the best selling album , another achievement by Carrie AGAIN. But she will never be awarded by country awards AGAIN. because country voters will choose their favs over Carrie AGAIN.

After reading the comments here, I thought the performance was atrocious. It was nowhere near that. It wasn't perfect but not bad either - probably among the best of the night, as usual with Carrie.

well, miranda won the award by default. martina and sara had no chance, being the old women that they are because country music does not have room for old women. carrie did nothing. and lord knows the acms will not award taylor the fvoty award so they can pride themselves againts the cmas by not making that mistake. (although i do think taylor was mirandas best competition for the award). so who else was there to win?
in the next year or so, while i would love carrie to get that deservedly fourth fvoty award, it would be great to see a new face. maybe someone like kellie pickler, who released one of the best albums of the year so far.

I am usually really critical of Carrie's live performances.. probably because I love her so much.. and I didn't have an issue with tonight performance at all! I know everyone is just being critical because they are huge fans..but I've decided that we should leave all the criticism to the haters.. what kind of fans are we if we can't support Carrie no matter what... not very good ones.. Carrie deserves the best from us!

So... I loved it. I don't get the hate. The ACMs are notorious for having sound issues, especially at the start of the show. Carrie stunned even if the vocal was a bit rough. Excellent launch for a mediocre sound stage. I thought so too. It sounded like more of a sound issue than anything. There was some shortness of breath. Overall, she hit all of her notes, and she nailed all the little riffs that the song is full of. I don't get what people are talking about? No, it wasn't immaculate, but for a song THIS HARD, she did great justice. Technically, "Good Girl" is easily the hardest song in her catalog. She did just fine. If it was as bad as people are saying, it would be 'talked about' by now and I've seen nothing on Yahoo, MSN, etc, that say anything about the performance... She did fine. Considering her nerves, the choreography (moving around the stage), the technicalities of the song, and the sound system flaws, she was just fine. Carrie lost to Miranda for Vocal. Hey,all you voters, don't you guys get bored for choosing the same winner again and again? SHAME ON YOUR POLITICs! Except when it's Carrie Underwood they're voting for over and over again?

I thought the performance was really bad to start (she sounded nervous), then she NAILED the bridge IMO, and then kind of ended mediocre (for her). Just a non fanatic's point of view/opinion. Some of you are making it a lot worse than it was and some of you are making it better than it was. It's somewhere in the middle.
