A Perfect Circle have announced their new album, Eat the Elephant, will be out on April 20th. They have also premiered a new song, called "TalkTalk" (a nod at the post rock band? ;) ).

Well time for me to share my weird dreams. A few days ago, I somehow dreamt that Dinosaur Pile-Up's "11:11" re-entered the active rock chart although it got sent recurrent a long time ago. But that's not the weirdest. Last night I dreamt that I made an error on my active rock chart video because somehow Dirty Heads' "Oxygen" and Panic! at the Disco's "The Only Difference..." were on the chart.

Something happened to me kind of strangely? I dreamt that Favorite Liar by The Wrecks started picking up adds again and reentered the Alternative chart. And it actually made the billboard chart this time around.

Another random historical song. John Lennon needs no introduction. What might need an introduction is the highest charting single in the mainstream rock chart. It is the last hit he had, in 1984, from his posthumous Milk And Honey album. Nobody Told Me reached nr 2. in 1984, getting stuck behind Van Halen - Jump.

I know some of you like Killswitch Engage so this is his new band. This is actually a tad more melodic than his old band.

So I just found out Bangwave Radio shut down...in November. Goes to show how much I cared about it without Troy . Maybe you can reclaim your username?

Looks like another pulse favorite is heading our way. If this song enters Alt chart, we are all fucked. :kii:

Go listen to "Bud Like You", and your life will be changed forever. Wow! Just Wow. I purposely stayed away from that until I took my G.F. home, and I'm glad I did , because it would have ruined my night. I don't think I could express my thoughts on this song without being banned from pulse or possibly even arrested.

Buckcherry had that one stupid song that repeated the F bomb too, but that was a masterpiece compared to this. This is an actual comment on this song, I copied and pasted from Youtube. Living proof that someone out there actually liked this? *"This is one of the best rollouts for a song I have seen a band do in a long time and you guys aren't even signed to a label. Proof that you don't need one these days if you are smart businessmen. Well done! Also... RIP Steve Irwin. "

"Funhouse" wasn't bad at all. It reminded reminded me a bit of that; King No One, song, I charted last year. has a Indie Poprock vibe. I'm definitely coming back to this one.

I thought this was super cool. I think it's 100% true. I was young teenager around the late 80's.....When "Party Rock" was most popular. Glam/Hair Metal. What you guys think? Did your favorite songs come out around age 13?

This was my comment to ARTV's video that I posted.
I can semi-agree with this. I'm 34 and many of my all-time favorite bands I did get into when I was around Middle School age like Green Day, 311, The Offspring, Blink-182, Foo Fighters, etc. However, I think a good number are also from my High School and college years like Sum 41, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, MCR, Rise Against, and more. I wouldn't say any band since then in the mid 00's has overtaken my favorites and likely never will. Most of what I enjoy now would be considered pop-punk/emo which I really got into in high school, but that was when it broke into the mainstream.

Well, I'm 18, and my music taste is currently pretty mixed. During high school, I loved pop punk, emo, and post-hardcore, and I still do. I slowly started to get into more artsy stuff, like progressive rock, different types of metal, and more indie stuff. Right now, I'd say I mainly listen to indie rock and the like. But the other genres are definitely still a big part of what I listen to. So I wouldn't say what I listened to when I was younger defined my music taste, but it definitely influenced it.

I don't know, I don't know if I've ever had a genre or artist I love significantly more than others or like a singular taste. I'm very much more into liking individual songs over larger projects or discographies, and the artists and albums I like have work I like more consistently then others. But there's no artist out there I'll stan for or anything. And likewise, there's no genre or artist I'll admit to hating all of their work consistently. I approach music the same way I do every form of media, go in with no expectations and let myself be surprised if I actually like it.
Back in high school I was very focused on listening to critically acclaimed indie acts that were smart or whatever, and then I came to learn that no matter how much I try to like The National I'd still rather listen to Hawthorne Heights, so I just threw the idea of having good taste or whatever out the window, I'll listen to whatever the fuck if I like it fine.
So I guess this is to say I've come full circle on my taste. I started high school digging Three Days Grace and Skillet, spent my last couple years of school and beginning of college trying to be smart, and then went back to mid-2000s emo/edge music where I'm stuck now. I can't say I love all the music of my youth, but that very accepting, scattered, detached approach to music I had back in the day where I'd just go listen to random shit and maybe an album or two if I liked the songs from it is basically how I've come back to music at this point in my life as I'm about to graduate college.
It's just easier on my to approach this kind of thing unorganized, my taste changes with the season I guess, but moody darkwave, "emo" trash, Sprinsteeny heartland rock/punk has been where I'm at for a couple years now (right around the time I started using Spotify/discovered weekly, etc.) I've just grown really apathetic about the particulars lately for some reason, I don't know the last time I went and listened to a full album, probably like November/December.

I've gone through so many cycles of what I like it's ridiculous. I guess the biggest moments would be hearing Siamese Dream and embracing 90s music, hearing Diamond Eyes and embracing Deftones as my favorite band and hearing Pure Heroine and embracing other genres outside of hard rock.
I had my cock rock phase where I was a fan of Hinder, Nickelback, Theory, Buckcherry, all that shit. I had my goth phase where I loved MCR, Panic, Good Charlotte, all the other ones except fall out boy. Then I had my nu metal phase where I was bumping Limp Bizkit, Korn, Slipknot, Mudvayne.
Around senior year of high school my friends got me into EDM music and Kendrick Lamar and then in college I Started embracing hip hop music. I also fell in love with music festivals and that became my favorite pasttime.

'What we went after is a great blend of dance, rock and pop, and you kind of throw that in a blender, and I would say that's pretty much what Pyromantic sounds like." Doesn't sound like anything I would care for?

Can't say I'll be shedding many tears. Sixx:AM's first album was great, but they seemed to have no idea how to follow it up and just turned into a boring post grunge band.
