Still laughing at "drunken Taylor Hicks intro". Were you serving him at the bar??? Anyway, I thought Kris did a great job and his high notes weren't that bad. Have any of y'all seen Chris Martin from Coldplay hit falsetto notes live?! Shudder, yes that Grammy performance was downright painful. Kris did fine as far as the sound of the notes but watching him hit them is painful. Looks like he's busting a nut.

#128 on iTunes. I thought he did a really good job. His performances have improved so much since he was on the competition. I hope they send him on a radio tour so that more stations can add this song. This can be as big of a hit as "Live Like You Were Dying".

Ryan Tedder's falsetto is also terrible live, but he's also terrible live in general.
I really don't think Kris can afford another slow climb type single, unless he has a mega instant 2nd hit smash waiting in the wings.
RCA is not handling its Idols' first singles well at all. I do prefer this to Kelly's and Adam's first single, though.

I think he sounded pretty great on Idol last night. I am concerned a little about his vocals though. He could have sung it one octave/key lower so he wouldn't have had to strain so much.

# 134 now. It seems to have stabilised at this level, whick corresponds to weekly sales of 10-15k. I don't think that it will be enough to be a selling point for a radio push. Not sure what is happening with this song. :o

What bothers me most about the song is the production during the chorus. It just sounds so lame, like it's still a demo. I really like the song but I'd love it a lot more with better production.

They should really send the remix out. The song doesn't seem to picking up steam in its original form.

The Maison & Dragen Remix really does bring out the chorus more. I love every single second of that remix.

They should really send the remix out. The song doesn't seem to picking up steam in its original form. I think it depends on whether or not PDs aren't playing the song because of Kris, or because they don't think the song will work on their stations. I think the answer is the latter, even though maybe a fun song like My Weakness or Better With You would have done a little better. Because of that, the only hope for the remix to do something is if it takes off on the club circuit and dance chart first, and then crosses over to radio.

There is zero promotion for this song. There is no i-tunes banner, so even if people saw the song on Idol, they may not be able to find it on i-tunes easily. There is no links to i-tunes or Amazon with the video either.
Seems like RCA has no intentions to promote Kris. Sigh...

Exactly no tv appearances except idol which is not on them but Kris being a former winner. Not even a measly radio tour, nothing. They should have just dropped him and let him get another deal even independent then to do this.
They haven't done anything.

Kris did a concert yesterday in vegas for a radio station and there are more radio concerts coming so they are doing something but the promo is moving very slowly and i am very surpised that the song is getting lukeworm response ,i think it is very radio freindly song but apperantly PDs don't agree ,may be they should release the dance mix instead ,it could do better than the oringial version but i am very worried for the album numbers and i am afraid he won't be able to sell even 20 k ,this will be very horrible .

It is often the case that the radio tour starts a few weeks after the adds date. It looks like it is beginning now.

Ugh that generic drum beat under the falsetto parts made me so mad when I first heard the original lol. Like why would they do that? But I figured it was because I had heard the epic remix chorus first. I thought he did a good job on his idol performance of the song and I loved that piano.

I actually prefer the original. The remix sounds, I don't know, too remix-y. It doesn't fit for me.

I get what you're saying, I like parts of the remix. But it's clearly a dance beat that's not Kris and yeah it's clearly remixy lol. But they would surely shorten it for radio and take out some extraneous parts. At this rate, they ought to try anything and not let this single die.

I just prefer singers not to look like they are about to stroke out or body parts explode in order to hit notes. It's painful for me to watch. Like I said he sounded fine I just didn't enjoy the visual.

The remix sounds so trite. besides, I just don't think his voice fit in that kind of energetic sound. Shouldn't this be moved to HAC? I really don't see this getting pushed to pop any time soon seeing how slow it's on HAC now.

I just watched the AI clip. Kris is a really cute guy. He just isn't a star. There was no power in his vocals.

According to Brian Mansfield from USA Today TVOL apparently didn't have enough sales to get it on the Top 200 chart. If the Idol appearance couldn't give TVOL enough boost to make the BB chart I'm not sure if there's another platform out there that can.

I know an ITunes banner would be better exposure but wouldn't the people watching AI just type in his name and look for the song? I'm not being a jerk either. Does a banner make that big of a difference when someone already wants something?

The label should make it easier for people to buy the song , the problem is that RCA is working very slowly and very poorly on the song , if kris's album flopped and they dropped him ,i won't be sad for him ,they are incomptent and they focus only on their big stars .

The issue with some of these labels are that they don't promote these artists properly, so alot of the subpar numbers are mainly due to the label not during their part.

There are preview snippets for the whole album up on iTunes now. Each snippet is about 90 seconds long.
One vote for Rooftops for single #2, please
(PS - TVOL had a solid update on HAC this week and will be getting auto adds from stations in NYC, Boston and from Sirius Radio's channel The Pulse tomorrow)

Honestly, I think this was just a bad single choice. It didn't get me excited about Kris' album at all, and I didn't go out and buy the song either. But I like Kris, and after listening to clips of the rest of the album, now I am interested in it.
"My Weakness" or "Rooftops" as a single please.

I think they should go for Better with You or My Weakness next. They're not pushing this at all, which is beyond me.
