The Country version is infinitely better than the Pop version. I can see this breaking the Top 20 if all goes well.

I didn't care for this the other week when The Boot posted a story about this. But when I woke up this morning, and listened to her cover of Hell On Heels, I gave this another listen. It's been on repeat the majority of the day. The only thing that kinda irks me is that it lacks a musical intro. It just jumps into the first verse. I would love for this to be a hit.

I think this has a shot, I mean.. I may get crucified for saying this, but in my opinion a lot of today's country basically is just pop music with an accent. This sounds great, I think it'll at least chart.

Yes, this will definitely chart on Monday. I wonder what Billboard will have to say about it? Audience is up to 0.708 million on Mediabase this morning...28 spins from WUSN in Chicago. They recently got a new PD who used to program Top 40 Radio. If they didn't have him, I doubt this would be getting spun at all. But, it is, and it will chart. I like the song well enough. The production on this new version sounds pretty good, but I agree with some others that her voice doesn't really seem to fit the country genre. It sounds really "breathy"...it works great for the style of music she's made a career with, but I don't think she will do too well on country radio even if she comes out with a country album. I've been wrong before, though. As for this song, I doubt it will do much unless it gets an adds date...there's only so many spins that WUSN can give it. Maybe a few other stations will start spinning it, too, and get it into the top 40, but it probably won't do much unless it gets an adds date and her label really pushes it. By the way, the country version (intro included) was uploaded to Mediabase and you can listen to it HERE.

I love the country version of this song. Hopefully Country radio will pick up on it. I love the new vocals as well.

I like the country version a lot, but I'm not a country fan, which is why I'm interested to see how country fans react to it.

This sounds like a lot of other songs that receive a positive welcome on country radio. I wouldn't fault it for failing to be country.
On the other hand, I don't like it at all. The vocals lack restraint and subtlety, the production is overdone. I would never listen to this voluntarily, although the song itself has some promise if it were arranged and sung differently. But it fits right in. If they're going to play Martina's scream-alongs, I would say it's hypocritical for country radio to label this as "not country enough."

Kelly Clarkson is one of my favorite pop vocalists. I think this song sounds better in this "country" remix than the pop version.
However, I hope it's not a hit. I love her pop music, and while I'd love to hear country music from her, I don't want country to not play her because she came from the pop industry (remember Jessica Simpson? Though, she wasn't as prominent in the music business when she tried country music). And I don't want her to alienate pop radio, again.
She has a good momentum on pop radio right now and I don't want her to mess that up.

^^ In Jessica's case, too, her material was dreadful, and she's not on the same level as Kelly to begin with.
But I do agree that I would hate to see her mess anything up at pop - although I don't think that would really happen, either.

#59! Kelly Clarkson makes a second solo appearance on Hot Country Songs as "Mr. Know It All" (19/RCA) opens at No. 59 based on unsolicited album play at two monitored stations (WUSN Chicago and WBCT Grand Rapids). She first appeared when lead single "A Moment Like This"charted for one week (No. 58) in October 2002 after she became the first winner of American Idol.
She subsequently peaked at No. 2 as Reba McEntire's duet partner on "Because of You" in September 2007, then spent three weeks at No. 1 with "Don't You Wanna Stay" (a duet with Jason Aldean) in March 2011. Clarkson and Aldean per for med the song on the Feb. 12 Grammy Awards. Clarkson's "Mr. Know It All" appears on her current album, Stronger, which bullets at No. 13 on the Feb. 18 Billboard 200. The album debuted at No. 2 on the big chart last fall. - Billboard Country Update (P6)

What's odd is that this only got 10 spins for the Billboard week, even though it got 29 plays on WUSN last week, according to the Mediabase Add Board. That doesn't make sense at all. We saw that it had more than 700k on Mediabase, and it only has 236k on Billboard.

I came across this on another site, the station in Chicago has officially added the song: Country Show Stations Not Added CLARKSON, KELLYMr. Know It All by Station Station Spins LW Format Market Label Owner Market Rank Date/Time Added * WUSN-FM Pub 29 Country Chicago 19/RCA CBS Radio 3 2/13/2012 6:00:00 AM addboard.mediabase.com/AddDetails.asp?AddFormat=C1

^Yes, I posted that link in the post just above yours. But I'm wondering, does anyone know why it only had 10 spins on Billboard, while according to Mediabase, WUSN played it 29 times? That makes no sense to me. WUSN is on both the Billboard and Mediabase panels, right?

I disagree that she has a great voice for country. For instance, I thought her voice stuck out like a sore thumb on DYWS alongside Jason's. She's got a good voice, but I think she's best suited to a more pop-rock sound, like Behind These Hazel Eyes and Never Again, or to a lesser extent electropop. That said, this is a really good remix of a song I never imagined could be made country. Although I still feel that while this is sonically good, her voice still doesn't sound authentically country to me. Agree. Kelly has a fantastic voice. But for me, she always sounds pop/rock no matter what she sings.

^I did like Remember That, at least. And I still hear Jessica's Come On Over a lot around here — now making me wonder why I hated that song when it was a single. I mean, sure, she sounds like she's being strangled throughout the song, but it's not bad.

WUSN/Chicago, the first or second largest country station in the US (and one of two "test markets" for Kelly's country version of 'Know') is spinning the heck out of this song. On this station, 'Know' has the largest bullet out of any song and, as of February 14 am's charts, is up to #18 !
