Her EP is expected to debut with 30-35K as stated by HITS. She did an interview with Rolling Stone discussing the recording process for the EP and revealed some details about her upcoming record: Sara Bareilles plans to spend most of 2012 writing and recording her next album, but before she goes into studio seclusion, the singer-songwriter has a treat for her fans β the Ben Folds-produced EP Once Upon Another Time, in stores Tuesday. Her friendship with Folds predates the recently cancelled NBC series The Sing-Off. "We toured a couple of college markets together and then he had a show in L.A. at the Palladium, and he asked me to come sing a song with him he had done as a duet with Regina Spektor," Bareilles tells Rolling Stone. "So I came out for the show, and we hung out. Weβre kindred spirits, I think. Heβs an easy person and a musical hero of mine, but also a really funny, intelligent, great dude." Despite the friendship, Once Upon Another Time marks the first time the pair have teamed up in any way on record. "I was visiting Nashville, and I went to his studio," says Bareilles. "As soon as I stepped in the room there, I sort of knew thatβs where I wanted to do the EP," she says. "It dawned on me, βWhy not just see if Ben would even be interested in producing?β I called him, and he was excited about it. So it worked out good." Barellies feels the EP marks a new direction for her. "I wanted it to sound a little bit different than the rest of my records," she says. "Thereβs a rawness, a sonic rawness there thatβs a new territory for me." While itβs only a small sample of songs, the EP could portend a larger shift for Bareilles: "Thatβs something Iβm interested in exploring more on my next project. For me itβs about nurturing my bravery and how far can I push myself as a writer." For her next tracks, she is writing for the first time with others (including Ryan Tedder), and sheβs talked with Sia and Greg Kurstin and has plans to write with members of the band Hyper Blend. "Iβve always been really closed off to the idea of co-writing. Now, for some reason, Iβm much more open to it," she says. Sheβs also toying with the idea of having multiple producers work on the new album. Though common in the pop world, it's not something sheβs done before. "Iβm antiquated," she says, laughing.

I hope I like this one more than Kaleidoscope Heart. It wasn't a bad album, but I thought Little Voice was better. "Gravity" remains her best.

She better serve!! Both of her albums are great, I hope collaborating with other writers will make the result good like it happened with Gavin DeGraw.

OMG, I would just faint if Sara worked with Sia. Eek. Even if that doesn't happen, a new Sara album is something I'm really looking forward to. I love Kaleidoscope Heart so damn much.

Multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles has announced plans to release her highly anticipated third studio album this summer through Epic Records. Recorded in Los Angeles and New York with producers including John OβMahony (Coldplay, Metric) and Mark Endert (Fiona Apple, The Fray, Train), this album will continue to display Saraβs signature voice and stellar songwriting. The albumβs first single, βBrave,β will be released on iTunes on April 23rd. βI have never felt more open and more raw in my entire life. 2012 was a year of deconstruction for me personally,β said Bareilles. βI have been confronting some of my greatest fears in the last handful of months and have been amazed at how empowered I can feel when I muster up the courage to turn and growl back at those monsters under the bed. The songs on this album are a true reflection of everything Iβve come to experience in recent months and I'm going to celebrate that with the next most terrifying thing I can doβ¦go back on the roadβ¦totally alone. Just me. And my piano. And maybe a guitar. And some whiskey. And some jokes. And my songs. Iβm excited to share this next stage of my career with each and every one of my fans.β Bareilles will embark be on an 18-city solo acoustic trek titled the βBrave Enoughβ tour starting on April 25th at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. and will go through May 23rd at the Highline Ballroom in New York. The tour will also hit other major US cities including Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles. Visit SaraBareilles.com for more info. I pretty much like all her singles I've heard, but slept on her albums. Time to go back into time w/her discography :)

I'm so annoyed by the lack of a Detroit show. I would love to see her on a solo acoustic tour. :(

Super excited for this album. Her EP was fantastic and I'm excited for this new era. Did anyone get tickets today for her tour? Apparently the shows were selling out extremely quickly - her NYC show sold out in 2 minutes :o

Had no luck with NYC... I sincerely hope she adds more shows. It makes sense to do so especially if she's dropping a record in the next few months.

^ Why on earth would she do the Highline in NY? That place is WAY too small for her. She should have done the Beacon or Hammerstein or something like that. Doesn't she want to make any money?

Damn, the NYC show sold out in two minutes?! Good for Sara, but not so good for me. I really hope she adds a second NYC show.

I'm surprised by the lack of support Sara has here on Pulse. While I personally like her, she's never really been exceptional for me so I feel like I'm missing out on something. I might need to relisten to her albums and her EP and do some catch up before the new album.

Trust me, I want her to get back to Love Song-style hits (as in, big hits, not an LS rehash)

Sara Bareilles Not Returning to NBC's 'Sing-Off'11:17 AM PDT 4/5/2013 by Philiana Ng The singer, who was a judge on season three, is focusing on her music career. The Sing-Off is going through a change of its own on its judges' panel on the heels of The X Factor, America's Got Talent and The Voice shakeups. Sara Bareilles, who replaced Nicole Scherzinger on NBC's a capella competition, will not be returning when The Sing-Off returns later this year, The Hollywood Reporter confirms, to focus on her musical endeavors. Bareilles joined the judges table alongside Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman and Ben Folds in season three. It is unclear whether Stockman, Folds or host Nick Lachey would be returning for the fourth season, which will premiere as a strip during the holiday season. Bareilles announced March 27 that she would be embarking on a month-long trek being called the Brave Enough Tour, starting April 25. Last month, NBC officially renewed The Sing-Off after more than a year off the air. An open search will kick off April 27.
