Stronger sold 17,000.
Looks like Home would approach Stronger's sales in 4 weeks. Right around Grammy time, so Stronger might re-pass it temporarily, depending on what kind of a boost it receives.
Home would most likely pass it again after, unless it really plummets on iTunes. Stronger has had great longevity in sales so far itself.

How much do Grammys usually boost songs by though? I mean it's unlikely that Stronger will be performed and unlikely it will win ROTY. I really can't see a massive digital boost as a result of a nomination?
Home looks like it could cross 5 million to be honest. Crazy.

Phillip is just now starting to explode on AC radio, so his airplay and sales will remain high from the adult contemporary fans.

Sales (from Billboard)
"Phillip Phillips' "Home" slides 8-10 (104,000; down 20%)."
Home's total now is 3,832,000. This looks to be Home's last week in the top 10. It'll get to 4xplat but no more weeks of selling 100K plus.

^^^^ i think that feat is amazing. i know it will overtake Stronger in a few weeks but it will be interesting to see what happens in the long run. If kelly performs stronger at the grammys it will have another big week (even if she doesnt perform at all, she will still have some kind of a bump bc of the big nominations). So i will be interested to see where the totals stand in like 6 months

Amazing really. Sad that Kelly won't be the Top Idol seller for singles, as she's my favorite artist of all time, but I'm proud of Phillip!

Phillip Phillips, Home (74,000, -23%, 3.889 million)
Does anyone have the radio updates for this song?
It's currently #22 on itunes and Stronger could still become the highest selling song after Home overtakes it, if Home falls off airplay rather quickly. Stronger has great recurrent play and is still selling 14K + each week.

Stronger and Home are def. gonna be engaged in a sword fight for best selling Idol song in the months (or longer) to come as Home is starting to slowly but surely fall (though not fast enough) so it'll prob will pass Stronger BUT Stronger is still selling decently. I think both of them will be neck and neck when all is said and done. Its just Stronger to me has the potential (ultimately) to have more longevity due to the multiple format appeal and its message. Its become an anthem and will clearly be played waaay more in years to come. Kelly will ultimately surpass it once Home starts to simmer down for good which I think will happen in enough time where it wont be WAY ahead of Kelly.

Congrats to Phillip and Idol for picking a good song period for the winner's victory lap. Shame it took them until freaking Season 11 but better late than never.

Yeah, I can't believe it took Idol so long to realize that for their winners' first songs, they should do something current and relevant to the actual winner, not some generic, cheesy, coronation song. Ding ding! I'm sure the results here will be what sparks the change, rather than hoping for the same response A Moment Like This got with the same kind of song.
Congrats to him on the sales--it's a great song.

For a long time Idol really didn't have an incentive to do that. The very first winner had a real-world hit with her slice of coronation cheese and it made for good TV (and the show has always been more important to the Idol franchise than what happens to former contestants later on). Then the next season, Clay and Ruben had even bigger sales (at first) without their coronation songs being musically relevant or getting much airplay. They figured the winner would always sell a certain amount no matter what. It simply never occurred to Idol to use the coronation song as a launching pad to show millions of viewers (and radio) exactly the kind of music that would be on their albums. The POV seemed to be that the winner was fulfilling their "duty" with the cheesy AC ballad and their "real" music career didn't begin for several months, so why "waste" a "good" song when a bad one would do? As long as the winner's album went platinum at least, if not sold a million copies, it was all good... ...Until it wasn't, aka the epic fail that was No Boundaries. It was not only a pile of crap, but it didn't suit either finalist, Simon mocked it on air and the songwriter advised the audience not to judge the singers based on the song. Being melody and lyrically challenged, it had no chance of actually being a hit like AMLT and TOML, which would have done a lot to give the winner momentum post-show, and if ever an Idol winner needed that it was him. Live Like We're Dying as a coronation song promoted to radio right after that season's finale totally shifts Kris Allen's entire career trajectory. A prevailing attitude when it was clear Phillip would win S11 was, "Ugh, another WGWG!" Then Home was actually good, it had a huge debut sales week, then it went gold, then there was the Olympic boost and it became bigger and bigger and bigger. So while the whole WGWG issue didn't instantly go away, with Home being the success it was, it was positive PR for Phillip. The more time the media (and fans) had to acknowledge Phillip's success, the less time they had to drag him and coat him with the stench of being a "loser" whose Idol title wasn't deserved.
