LUPE FIASCO WARNS LISTENERS ABOUT NEW SINGLE ‘LAMBORGHINI ANGELS’Lupe Fiasco is bound to stir up more controversy with his next single. The Chicago MC has unveiled the black-and-white artwork for “Lamborghini Angels.” The follow-up to the Pete Rock and CL Smooth-sampled “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” and “Bitch Bad” will be available August 14 on iTunes. It contains brash lyrics that may offend some people. “Warning: if you are easily offended or religiously sensitive DO NOT listen to Lamborghini Angels. Contains very disturbing content,” tweeted Lupe. “Listener discretion is thoroughly advised.” The song will appear on his fourth album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, due September 25. www.rap-up.com/2012/08/07/lupe-fiasco-warns-listeners-about-new-single-lamborghini-angels/

Gotta say, not looking forward to this as much as I want to be. I LOVE Food & Liquor and The Cool but Lasers was a huge disappointment (even with the strange circumstances) and these singles aren't really doing it for me (I do like B*tch Bad). I'm all for politically/religiously/socially conscious records (American Terrorist is brilliant) but he seems like he's pushing really hard. I hope it's a good album because he's an extraordinary talent.
Also, he looked much better without hair.

It seems like he's fighting against the critics who accused him of selling out by following the 1-2-3s on how to NOT be commercial. And yet, the all black album cover has already been done a million and one times. I prefer his first couple of albums, but I'll take commercial Lupe over pretentious try hard Lupe any day.

Man, those first two records were incredible. I actually think I might like The Cool best. I'm still holding out hope. Is there a backstory to the cover (or lack thereof)?

Here's the album cover. Dude is being pretentious as fukk lately. Is this for real??? Aint no way i'm putting that among my cd collecting. And why cant he just release ONE great HipHop track for radio? I understand he's against the whole commercial angle, but dude seriously! Pul the mic out yo *ss and run a classic by us. It would make me feel better.

LUPE FIASCO CONTEMPLATES RETIREMENTIs Lupe Fiasco hanging up the mic? The controversial rapper is thinking about throwing in the towel once he releases his next album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. He took to Twitter to make the announcement. “This album will probably be my last,” tweeted Lupe. “Its been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love an inspiration for me and my family.” While it’s unclear exactly what triggered his decision, he feels burned by the music industry. “But my heart is broken and i see no comfort further along this path only more pain. I cannot participate any longer in this,” he said. “i have spoken peace only 2 receive vitriol and malice in return. My brother seeks destruction my sister seeks attention paths to nothingness.” He plans to step away from the spotlight and focus on his other passion. “My first true love was literature so i will return to that…lupe fiasco ends here…” While he may see retirement in his future, he still owes Atlantic Records one more album. He was planning a sequel to his Great American Rap Album following the release of Food & Liquor II on September 25. www.rap-up.com/2012/09/06/lupe-fiasco-contemplates-retirement/

This guy's such an attention whore. He shouldn't have even accepted the invitation. I loved him when he first came out, but now I can't stand him. He turns me off more and more with time. LUPE FIASCO KICKED OFF STAGE AFTER ANTI-OBAMA RANTLupe Fiasco continues to stir up controversy. During his performance at an inaugural concert on Sunday, the outspoken rapper was kicked off stage after performing anti-Obama lyrics. Lupe was the headliner at the StartUp RockOn concert in celebration of Obama’s second term in Washington, D.C. But instead of celebrating the president’s re-election, he took the opportunity to bash him. After performing his anti-war single “Words I Never Said” for over 30 minutes, he was asked to move on to the next song. When he didn’t comply, security told him to leave the stage. “Things going terribly wrong at @lupefiasco performance during #SURO. Kicked off stage, bashing obama,” tweeted CNN’s Matt Dornic. “#SURO slammed by @lupefiasco’s nonstop, anti-obama rap. Corporate sponsors scurrying.” Hypervocal, which co-founded StartUp RockOn, denied that Lupe was asked to leave for his anti-Obama rant. “This was not about his opinions,” said the organization in a statement. “Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act.” This is not the first time Lupe has spoken out against the president. In an interview from 2011, he called Obama a terrorist. “In my fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama in the United States of America,” he said. www.rap-up.com/2013/01/21/lupe-fiasco-kicked-off-stage-after-anti-obama-rant

I hope people don't just read the title and assume he's pro-Republican. There is a large movement, mostly Democrat supporters, who are upset with Obama because he isn't governing as far "left" as many of these supporters wish he would. Kind of like the Democrat version of the "Tea Party".

LUPE FIASCO ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM TITLE, THEN DELETES ITHas Lupe Fiasco decided on a title for his new album? The controversial rapper tweeted a title before mysteriously deleting it. In a tweet from earlier this morning, someone with access to his Twitter account announced that Tetsuo & Youth would be the title for his fifth album. Tetsuo refers to the 1989 Japanese cult film Tetsuo: The Iron Man. “Hello. #LF is happy to announce his album title for 2013. ‘TETSUO & YOUTH’ We Wish You Good Luck @ #TheGrammies Today. Thank You,” read the tweet before it was removed minutes later. Lupe had previously announced that Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 2, the follow-up to his 2012 Grammy-nominated album, would be “summarily canceled for public release in 2013.” www.rap-up.com/2013/02/10/lupe-fiasco-announces-new-album-title-then-deletes-it

This dude has been battling, feuding, and talking mad sh*t about them for years, and he might resign? Alright then... I thought he stated on Twitter that he was retiring after this album and was going to be out of the public eye for awhile (or forever).

I was confused on why he'd retire from music when he has the ability to do whatever he wants if he leaves Atlantic. I'm going to guess that he moves on and another major label will pick him up.
