How is 3rd fastest record time? Especially considering she has a video that did it in half the time...

The World Cup opening yesterday with Pitbull and JLo was a disaster. A big low budget mess. For sure they need some help from people from the Super Bowl. I'm assuming Shakira will perform in the closing ceremony. I hope she demands a great stage. I think something as bad as yesterday's opening can damage your brand as a singer when the whole world of soccer followers (which is millions and millions) is laughing at you the next day. That's what's happening with Pitbull right now.

She won't perform at the closing. They've already announced Wyclef, Santana, and Avicii for the closing.

Yeah, just like that designer and Sony Music Chile said she was performing at the opening...when she wasn't even in Brazil.

Yeah, just like that designer and Sony Music Chile said she was performing at the opening...when she wasn't even in Brazil. You sure love to argue over pointless things. The designer said he was designing an outfit for Shakira's worldcup performance. He didn't mention opening, closing or the WC concert. Sony Music Chile mentioned the opening night performance. Things change a lot in Shakiraville. They were talking about having her on opening night, who knows why things changed, possibly because they could give her more time on closing night, but now it seems she's doing closing night. Seeing the way they treated JLo/Pitbull, I'm glad she wasn't on opening night. That was an embarrassment. They didn't even give them a proper stage to perform on. JLo likely tried to pull out when she heard she had to perform on top of a giant LED flower. Anyways, the official announcement is when Shakira mentions it on social media. But, at the moment it seems highly likely she's going to perform.

You never know with Shakira this might not even be for her own video. This could be for another ad... Who knows what she's gonna sell in the next one... Tampons? Condoms? Baby cribs?

Madonna has condoms, why not Shakira? Anyways, its likely a Crest ad. Hopefully they use one of her songs in the commercial. In the past they've used "Devocion" and "Can't Remember To Forget You."

Its rumored to be next after "Dare." But, I think CMD makes more sense. With the recent success of Magic, it would makes sense to release CMD next.

Shakira's 'La La La' is Now the Most-Shared Ad of All Time Move over Darth. After three years as the world's most-shared ad, Volkswagen's "The Force" ad has been eclipsed by Shakira's Activia-sponsored paean to the World Cup, " La La La (Brazil 2014) ft. Carlinhos Brown." Researcher Unruly reports that Shakira's video now has 5,375,756 shares across Facebook, Twitter and the blogosphere. That's more than "The Force" with 5,372,945 shares. As Unruly notes, it doesn't hurt that Shakira recently became the first person with 100 million Facebook likes. Unruly also attributes the success to the growing trend of "trackvertising," in which a brand and a musical artist collaborate on a video that serves as both a new song release and an ad. Shakira's ascendance shouldn't be that surprising. Measured by views, her video at this writing at 264 million vs. 60 million for "The Force."

So Dare was never sent to Pop?!! Gee! Way to mismanage this era again. Most of us warned about Empire being too left field for radio but few said it had lots of potential bla bla bla Dare had great summer vibe plus World Cup promo (not as popular in the US but still every Cup is becoming more popular!). The 'trackvert' still became the most seen ad globally. But Dare, as Waka Waka four years ago, ended up ignored in the US. Argh!

Well if you can't sell it, you might as well give it away I guess I know, right? It's too bad they made such terrible mistakes with the singles for US market. I still don't know why they didn't substitute Adam Levine for Rihanna - totally logical with TV season in progress, etc. Empire over Dare? Another odd choice. My guess is that the US pop market is a lost cause for Shak after this attempt. OC, she will continue to sell decently here (and WW) because she does have a fan base, but I'd be shocked if she has another huge US hit. A real shame.

I'll be surprised if they try to service a mainstream single off of her Spanish album if and when it comes out in 2015/6. They tried their damnedest to turn her into an huge star in America this go round at the expense of ignoring market where they could have actually had hits if they had bothered to promote. The weird thing about her is that her fanbase is so broad that in agregate it looks like she sells a ton, but without actually making any kind of an impact in a particular market.

If they really were smart at all they would have made her song with Rihanna a huge club-banger. Yeah it may seem contrived and generic but the song itself could have been NOT generic and something amazing. Imagine a huge dance beat + Mediterranean influences + their accents = flawless smash. Instead they went with a cute pop-rock song but that sound is just not even in right now. It's a good track, don't get me wrong, but if you're gonna get Rihanna on your song and try to stage this huge American comeback I feel that they should have went the full on club/dance route.

I'd like to get Rihanna's side of how the song actually came about (cuz you know she doesn't hold back) It's pretty obvious it was a Shakira solo track that they just stuck Rihanna on to try to make it more palatable to radio/American buyers.

That said, WHERE is the third single?! YDCAM cannot be ignored!
