Now that it's confirmed 'You're Mine" is the song they're excited about it and it's a ballad, I really hope (1) it's not the first single, and (2) it's not the JD ballad he way hyping up. Where did they confirm? Last night at the So So Def party?

Where did they confirm? Last night at the So So Def party? Nah. Some fans at UKMix tweeted BScott who said it was a ballad and that he loved it, and JD was recently talking about a ballad they did that he loved. I am glad her stay in Atlanta was short and sweet (aka no studio time, haha). My guess is 1 or 2 of their songs will still make it because Mariah's so nice. Edit: BScott, not BCox...I always mix their names up.

Oh shit, I spoke too soon. JD flew to Vegas w/ Mariah. Don't get me wrong -- I'm sure they wrote two great songs, but I wish Mariah would do an extended session with Mark Ronson and Jeff Bhasker and be like "Oh, hey, I have these two other songs written. Can we rearrange them?" Then she could tell JD that they were the remixes but Barry Weiss insisted on them being the originals...he'd still get songwriting credits, LOL.
And yeah, my ideal collabos would be: 4 songs with Mark Ronson and Jeff Bhasker together; 3 songs with Diplo and Ariel Rechtshaid; 2 songs produced by Miguel (one featuring); 1 Salaam Remi song 1 Darkchild song 1 song with Benny Blanco, Stargate, and Bonnie McKee (becuase now I'm curious what a Mariah "pop" song would sound like with someone who has written number one pop hits) 1 song with Hit-Boi 1 song with JD or The Dream (whichever one ended up sounding better)
And for the love of god, please let there be at least 4-5 real Mariah uptempos.

6 mins and 44 seconds of pure heaven, that whole concert was a master class in singing. All of the bitches she dragged across the stage could find a home under that gown.

The best concert of all time... She sang and hit all those notes so effortlessly..... her ensembles were quite demure.. you can always tell pre-divorce mariah from post-divorce mariah in pictures and video very easily.. lol

I dont think Holidays rooting against her..hell..if anybody would be..it be me..lol...but i gave up on that a while ago....you have to understand Maonnda fans...even though madonna has sold the most albums...theres something that burns every true madonna fan out there...even though shes had 12#1's...it seem like she has been burnt the most for that dam BBHOT100#1....because of that dam media always pinning her as the bad evil one...and Mariah and Whitney as the darling sweethearts....which i think affected Madonnas chart performance in the 90's and 2000's...a lot of Madonna fans believe she should have as many #1's as the Beatles ..if not more.....Madonna has i think 7 or 8 #2s on the BB Hot 100...so you have to understand were that little bitter seed lays sometimes...Madonna had to fight against everyone like she still has to today...she was never a media darling ..like Mariah..or Whitney...Beyonce..or RiRi...so even though Madonna has sold the most albums..and is called the Queen of Pop...there will always be that bitter seed in every madonna fan..call the BB HOT 100..LOL...anyway...enough of that...i LIKE THIS NEW MARIAH SONG A LOT!!!....i love the way she sound diffrent on it...i say its as great move..and hopefully the album is the same. It all evens out. She also had #1 singles that shouldn't have been #1 or even peaked as high as #2. And 'most' of her #1 singles weren't huge as far as weeks at #1. So her fans should've been happy with the 12 that she got. Yes...and we can say for about 7 out the 18 of mariahs #1's

But there were also songs that Mariah should have had a #1 and didnt. So it all equals out in the end. Mariahs had more hits PERIOD. Besides that Madonna has another Decade in the industry then Mariah. So Madonna had 10 more years to get #1s then Mariah did, and Mariah STILL has more hits. Its ok though, it doesnt discredit Madonna. Madonna is an entertainer, she uses things like big costumes and shock and awe, stage antics, and that works for her. Mariah uses her 5 octive range, and self penned 17 of her 18 #1s and thats workd for her. They are both Legends in there own right!

Has it dawned on anybody that both Mariah and IDJ are not heavily promoting Almost Home because Mariah cannot afford to take another promoted loss at radio?
To be honest Triumphant wasn't so hot this summer. It did not go over well. It is probably in the labels best interest to not heavily try to force this at radio or send it to certain formats because it could jeopardize her own first single. She cannot afford to take the loss because then it severely hinders her and sets her project up for failure right off the bat. I may be in the minority but I feel IDJ and Mariah are playing Almost Home smart. It is getting her the praise she deserves without trying so hard. The film will be viewed and her song will be featured at the end. It is what it is.
Also in regards to this song testing in certain regions of the United States, it would be in the best interest of those randomly sending requests to actually know they have to listen to that station. Radio testing is calculated by looking at the peaks of when the song is on the radio. The average time listening to the song, checking the frequency to see when or if people turn the station when it is on. It is so much more complicated than requests. While they are good it is not what will constitute a song being added into rotation. I also think this song has that inspirational theme that does not work right now at radio. The production works but the subject matter does not. She can come harder than this with a hot record made for radio if she wants something to take off.

If this was Madonna her fanbase even after all this time would have managed to get a top 10 on itunes at least. Mariah is somewhat disconnected from her fanbase in my opinion which is what hurts her. She doesn't even get the curiosity buys that she should with American Idol. That concerns me. She needs to figure out how to comeback in 2013 and not repeat this as if this is 2005. She is still one of the best voices out there but she has to connect with todays consumer if she wishes to stay relevant. That drama, controversy, image, etc.,etc. that many downplay is what is giving many people careers in this day and age as unfortunate as it is.

I was thinking about this the other day...who is her fanbase?. Of course...she has the gays...but not the way Gaga or Madonna do. IT's quite interesting. Unfortunately, she's at that point where AGE is such a concern. It was bound to happen. As a Madonna fan...one thing I can say to Mariah fans...is to eventually just accept the fact that she is not going to be on the charts the way she was before.

Yeah, I wonder who is a fan of Mariah? It's such a big mystery.
Though I think I found a clue when Mariah started judging the biggest music competition show in history and just about 100% of the people that came to audition sang their praises about Mariah's inspiration and influence in their life to be singers.
But, I think those people were buying Give Me All Your Luvin to get it high on Itunes instead of ever having supported Mariah.

Madonna has written/produced most of her songs from the beginning of her career. I would say Mariah is better when it comes to composing music. Madonna is stronger when it comes to writing lyrics. (But, some of Madonna's lyrics lately? Uugghh.)
