The latest from Travis. These guys are the guys that Coldplay was originally considered clones of. Givern Coldplay's success now, on both sides of the Atlantic, I'm sure a lot of people will turn that round and call Travis the Coldplay clones. Anyway.. I see how the groups are similar but definitely see many differences in styles between the bands.
Ok, that first paragraph was besdies the point. Sorry for rambling LOL.
I couldn't wait for new Travis stuff. Both of their two pervious albums were favorites of mine. But this song was SO disappointing on first listen. It's just missing something...
Now that I've given it another try, it's still a pretty decent song.
I think this can go Top 10 at AAA (is it already on the chart?).

I still say that Coldplay are the clones because Travis is usually good.
It's probably my second favorite Travis song (after "Side"). It's so straightforward. The first time I heard it I didn't think much of it, but it's been growing on me and now I really like this song.

Not much of a fan of them but I loved "Side". I'd also have to say this is my second favorite.

Thing is, I think that if they put out a lead single with a little more oomph, radio and especially MTV2/VH1 would really jump on this and put it in Buzzworthy/whatever the VH1 equilvalent is (the name escapes me but Maroon 5, Jason Mraz, and Liz Phair were all part of it this year).
I'll list my Top 5 Travis singles (although most of them are Europe only)
1. WRITING TO REACH YOU (one of my favorite songs by anyone EVER) 2. Side 3. Sing 4. Coming Around 5. Driftwood
I don't think "Re-offender" hols a candle to any of them, although I do like it more on every listen. It's just too simple though...

That would be Inside Track. :) I haven't heard the song yet (anyone know where I can hear it? Is there an mp3 online anywhere?) so I couldn't really say if the song is good or not. I prefer Travis over Coldplay. I think Coldplay is a bit overrated, honestly. Travis' second single - Side - from their last album - The Invisible Band - should have been a huge hit for them but it wasn't. I was disappointed radio didn't pick up on it. That was definitely radio material.

Just saw the video on MTV2. Did I call that one or what? LOL I hope MTV2 can break them... even though I don't think this is their strongest single, I still think its a hell of a lot better than most of what's out there. I want this to be a hit!
