BTW, I have a question.

Wonderin what your question is... Well, here I go.. Why do you think that Hot AC stations don't play "Long Day" by MB20? I know it didn't do anything on Hot AC, but there are plenty of 90s alternative hits that Hot AC plays now that were not hits on the format.

I honestly didn't even know "Long Day" was released as a single until I randomly saw the video on Yahoo one day. It's a great song... but only really hit on Rock radio. I'm sure it could be thrown in for the oh-wow factor (I've used it in the 90's @ 9 Feature we do). I guess because it wasn't even an Alternative hit, it isn't looked at.

How was that comment necessary? Because if he thinks that he has a mind of a PD, then I have a mind of a PD in the Country format.

I think it's that Hot AC only plays songs that were singles on CHR (and/or HAC)..."Long Day" never went for adds at CHR (or HAC), just Alternative and Rock - the 90s Alternative hits that "mainstream" Hot AC stations play were all CHR hits The only exceptions I can think of are on "Modern AC" stations I've heard, that play "Alive" and "Even Flow" by Pearl Jam (which were only Rock tracks), "Closer To Fine" and "Galileo" by the Indigo Girls (extremely minor CHR hits), and "Once In A Lifetime" by Talking Heads (pretty sure it charted on Rock in the 80s but was extremely minor at CHR back then) - but these are really popular songs that are really well-known...don't think "Long Day" ever rose to that level of popularity

Kid Kelly does both the 80s and 90s Backtraxx. I found Nina Blackwood's Absolutely 80s to be the better 80s show though, and went with it. How do you find a playlist for the 90's show? I tried looking on their website but it's not there.

John's sample hour for his version of a Hot AC station was fine, and he'd also make a great Hot AC or Country PD.
