Just one day at number one, and it counts as an official number one. What luck. I love it. When was the last time that's happened? Happens all the time at country but that genre takes chart manipulation to a whole different level, it's kind of jaw-dropping to behold. So that is my first thought when it happens anywhere, but if it were possible to game CHR/Pop that way to a large extent it would probably happen much more often.

It's a lot easier to manipulate the country airplay chart, especially since it's ordered by points. Just make the right stations play it more, and then voila. You got #1. It's not that easy on pop. This was definitely just a fluke. "Daylight" was getting wishy-washy updates all week. Kept flipping between +20s to +90s and what have you. So for it to get a +119 the final day wasn't too crazy.

I don't think it's unfair or lucky for them to have the #1 pop song of the week. Also, I don't get how they were #1 'for a day'. It was the most-played song the whole week, not just on Sunday. It's also possible that it never really was the most-played song on any day of the week. It could have been #2 for all the days of the week but its sum was enough to take it to #1.

A few weeks back, bought the song, was feeling it, and then very shortly after all of a sudden hit a brick wall.
This is a good song, but played over and over and over and over again -- it's just fucking annoying as all hell. It just gets on my nerves if I'm in a mood for anything interesting and I scroll through the stations and hear Daylight Daylight Daylight.

I feel like this is going to plummet and be out of the top 10 really quick. Bring on Love Somebody!

Glad this was an official No. 1! I'm ready for the next single now, even though they picked one that I wasn't crazy about.
