That's awesome news for Brandy and her fans, but I have my doubts that mainstream "country" radio will play her music anytime soon. The good news is that her partnership with a major label will only give her and her future albums more recognition, but as we've seen with Ashley Monroe, that doesn't mean radio will play the music. Warner Music Nashville released Ashley Monroe's album last year but they never really tried to push a single to radio because they knew radio wouldn't play it. I love all of the opportunities Brandy has had, though. Here is someone who has never charted (as a recording artist) on any of the country airplay charts, and yet she opened for Jennifer Nettles earlier this year, and is now opening for Eric Church. I am a huge fan of Eric and I'm so glad that he picked 'unconventional' artists like Dwight Yoakam and Brandy Clark to be his tour openers. And next year Brandy (along with Jon Pardi) will open for Alan Jackson. Alan said he picked them because he feels like they're among the newer artists who are "doing country right" (or something to that extent). Ashley originally signed with WB in LA too so it's possible she also ends up with Warner Bros. Nashville in some capacity.

Not a new signing (yet), but I felt that it best belonged in this thread. This little paragraph is from the midweek BCU:

In fact, he's likely to have signed with them and given the other recent announcements, they've just not wanted to announce anything yet.

Sounds like Jason Aldean re-signed around the tenth anniversary of his first signing. Hicktown was released during the first quarter of 2005. Broken Bow made a wise decision here.

Blackberry Smoke Leave Zac Brown's Label, Ink Rounder Deal for New Album
Blackberry Smoke have packed up their Gibson guitars and left Zac Brown's Southern Ground label, joining the roster of Rounder Records just in time for the February 2015 release of the band's fourth album, Holding All the Roses. Produced by Brendan O'Brien — the studio powerhouse behind records by Neil Young, Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen — Roses takes its cues from the band's back catalog, offering up another sturdy, scuzzy blend of country crunch and rock & roll rasp.
Smoke leader Charlie Starr and the other four members of the band grew up listening to O'Brien's records, and their decision to record Holding All the Roses with a fellow Atlantan — especially after amicably leaving the label of Zac Brown, another hometown hero — smartly keeps the band's roots planted in the same soil that housed their earliest bar gigs. When it comes time to promote the new record in early 2015, though, Blackberry Smoke will go back to their tried-and-true method of touring at a rugged, relentless pace. The 2015 shows kick off in early February and currently stretch as far as May, with the band playing iconic venues like Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and New York City's Webster Hall along the way. Full Story on Rolling Stone Country

I also read a post that Zac Brown Band has been assigned to Dot Records, any truth to that? Wikipedia has the Zac Brown Band on the Big Machine page under Dot Records. Makes sense to go with Dot because B.M. has the Cadillac Three and Rascal Flatts, Valory has the Mavericks, and Republic Nashville has the Band Perry, the Eli Young Band, and A Thousand Horses.

I can confirm this is true after hearing Craig personally mention it on the red carpet at the CMAs last night. He has already signed the deal and is now just waiting on the label to do their part.

I also read a post that Zac Brown Band has been assigned to Dot Records, any truth to that? Wouldn't surprise me. Their deal is with BMLG but mostly Universal Republic, so if BMLG were sold, they, like Republic Nashville and Dot artists, would stay with Universal Republic.

I'm really excited to hear the official announcement; I really love Craig Campbell. He is the third signing in recent weeks by BBR; following Jordan Rager and Brooke Eden. No official announcement on their label designation has been made, which leads me to speculate that since Broken Bow has 5 artists; at least two of them will be assigned to Red Bow as they currently have 3 artists and the other will be assigned to Stoney Creek. In the end, no matter where he lands it will be a win for BBR. He could still be signed to a different label altogether. I mean RaeLynn was also there and she's clearly not a BBLG artist.

The boot. Is about two years late with that story... Yep. I was gonna post the same thing. They're actually more than 2 years late, I think...I'm pretty sure I've had Josh Abbott Band under the Atlantic roster since at least October of 2012, maybe before.

Ben Rue is no longer listed with Sony or Arista on their site, I think he probably got dropped.

His song "I Can't Wait" (Be My Wife)" was taken off of All Access as well under cool new music recently (which also could mean they are done promoting it but it was on there for a super long time). I'm almost positive he got dropped though which is really odd considering how quickly they rushed him out and put a song at radio with no radio tour or much promotion. Definitely an strange situation.

I heard or saw somewhere that Ben was only going to be releasing that song from Sony - like a one song deal. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me, but I believe that was the case for him.

Clare Dunn announced on Sirius/XM that she has signed a recording contract with Universal Music Group. The signing happened on November 4th. There still is no word on what label she'll be assigned to.
Clare has been a Highway Find artist on Sirius/XM with her songs "Get Out" and "Cowboy Side Of You".
Boy that UMG lineup is getting full.

I'm surprised it took this long. She has a star look and Get Out would have been a huge hit this summer if she had any backing. Look forward to see what she releases, definitely could see a Get Out re-release.

Funny, I'm hoping for "Cowboy Side Of You" to be her first single. ;) "Get Out" was alright but "Cowboy Side Of You" has a great feel sonically though the production is heavy handed.

Big Machine Records has signed singer/songwriter Seth Alley to its roster. Seth has released his self-titled debut EP on iTunes today. Seth co-wrote all four songs on the EP with Sherrie Austin and Will Rambeaux. Alley is currently introducing himself to country radio. Source

SourceAlso in the same article, it fails to mention Laura Bell Bundy as part of the Big Machine Roster. Did Big Machine part ways with her? Laura is still on BMLG's website, so for right now I'm assuming that the article just failed to mention her due to her being non-existent at radio lately.

Thank you for the update, but I wonder how much stock I would put in their website since they have long since updated it. After all they fail to mention the artists on Dot Records and Nash Icon. To be completely honest, I'm not sure Laura has much of a future with BMLG anyway. Her music has just been too different for radio to play (Mercury did a great job promoting her when "Giddy On Up" came out in late 2009 and that has been her only top 40 single thus far). I think that Big Machine always kind of knew that and maybe that won't factor in too much for whether to continue with Laura but its been a long time since she had a song out and I doubt anything comes commercially successful for her on their roster. You never know though, so we'll see. Also, labels usually update the website if they drop an artist. Newly signed one's take a while to get up and running. Again, not always the case but that's how it usually seems to work.

Sorry to double post, but like I mentioned above, Clare Dunn has signed with UMG Nashville. Here she is with the UMG staff including Chairman/CEO Mike Dungan as she signs her recording contract. Source

Yep, not surprised on Clare. Also, there's a great story on BBR and their roster, and, admitting to rumors of a 4th label. I suspect this is the future spot for Craig Campbell, an imprint where he's the first star with one of the other newbies joining him. Maybe they'll partner with someone like Old Dominion too (would seem like an ideal paring really as the band IS looking for a full-on label partner). Who knows on any of that though. www.tennessean.com/story/money/industries/music/2014/11/15/bbr-music-group-jason-aldean-justin-lynch/19062999/

BMLG updated their website with a fresh new design today as well as adding Lauren Jenkins to their growing roster of talent. They did? It looks the exact same to me.

Sorry for ever doubting you, @smoothdancer! They must have just updated the mobile page a day or so before the changes were made to the main website too.
