UMG could also include the new label I.R.S. Nashville too. "UMG" includes all labels under their umbrella and Capitol Music Group may want him instead of UMG Nashville's branch. I.R.S. is not a part of the UMG Nashville stable but is a Nashville label that is launching Striking Matches and 4 or more other acts in 2015. ^ I think she has always been on UMG. Just been awhile since she cared about music

Just checked UMG Nashville's website. Looks they made a few updates. Clare Dunn and Julianne Hough have been added along with The Robertson's. No label designation for Clare Dunn (anyone know which label she is with) Julianne Hough has been added to Mercury and The Robertson's to EMI Nashville. Much to my surprise Julianne Hough is there anyone know why? We've known about Clare signing with UMG for over a month now (the news of her signing is a little further back in the thread), and still no word on what specific label she'll be assigned to yet. The Robertson's Christmas album was released via UMG so perhaps they have some other project in the works with them. I have no answers for Julianne. I just looked and saw her there too. She hasn't had any new music since 2010's "Is That So Wrong". I never heard about her being dropped or parting ways though beforehand.

I think "Is That So Wrong" was released at the wrong time but I think it is a great song. I sure hope Julianne Hough comes back to Country music sometime soon. I know she's been gone since 2010 but it still seems like a long time. Also I didn't see Craig Wayne Boyd listed under Dot Records on Big Machine's website.

Also I didn't see Craig Wayne Boyd listed under Dot Records on Big Machine's website. You have to give them a little more time to put the artist up there. With brand new signings, sometimes it takes at least a few days to adjust the website. Now when an artist gets dropped that's when they tend to get the artist off of the label's website quickly.

I think Hough took a break after CMT banned her video "Is That So Wrong" claiming her contract ran out with them.

I think Hough took a break after CMT banned her video "Is That So Wrong" claiming her contract ran out with them. I doubt that's why she stopped releasing music. She was getting more rewards from her acting career than in country music, so it makes sense if she 'took a break' for those reasons, imo. I'd always assumed that she'd been dropped though and I'd be kinda surprised to see her return to the country scene now. But her debut was pretty solid and I like her voice well enough.

It was announced on the today show that Martina had signed to NASHIcons music. New album due in 2015. Martina's a perfect fit for Nash Icons, and a somewhat predictible choice, given her history with Republic Nashville. I think this is a very good choice for her, and for the label as well.

It was announced on the today show that Martina had signed to NASHIcons music. New album due in 2015. The partnership may have been predictable but, to me, what was unexpected was that they have plans for new music to be released next year. She recently revealed she was extending the tour for Everlasting through next summer and perhaps even past that, but that revelation may have been premature, I suppose? I mean, she can record the new album while touring through the summer, then end the tour and put the album out next fall. Busy year for her, but I'll always welcome new Martina music.

I think that the bulk of Martina's new album may already be finished. She was initially supposed to release a new album last year, a few months after Everlasting, so I have to think that it's at least partially completed already.

Due to Reba and Martina's signing to NASHIcons along with Ronnie Dunn, I have to check in with something I'm curious of. Does anyone know if Faith Hill's contract with Warner Nashville is expiring or has been completed? I feel like there's a potential chance that Faith will join them on the roster list. What do you guys think?

I'm not so sure about that. I haven't heard about her contract expiring. It still could be possible though, I guess.

Well I'm assuming Faith has at least one album left with Warner since Illusion (I think that's what it was called?) was supposed to come out a couple years back and was pushed back indefinitely since her 2 singles didn't hit. However, her contract could end if Warner decided to drop her.
Although, I feel like starting the imprint with Ronnie, Reba, and Martina will keep NASHIcons plenty busy over the next year. I don't think the point of the label was to give a home to everyone's favorite artists that are 50+ years old (although still have potential with radio) a label to go to. I wouldn't expect to see many more signings to NASHIcons, if any, in the coming months. Having Ronnie/Reba/Martina and trying to revitalize their careers will keep the label plenty busy for now.

I can see one or two more signings happening sometime this year. Either two more male or a male and a group.
I'd like to see Clay Walker, Diamond Rio, Travis Tritt, Clint Black, Alabama, or Trace Adkins sign with them.
If they choose another female I don't think it'll be Faith, she's seemed comfortable at Warner Bros. for her entire career and they still seem pretty committed to her.
Female possibilities I see are Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, Jo Dee Messina, Terri Clark, Patty Loveless, Dolly Parton, and Tanya Tucker. They were all big in the 90's and I can see them as sought after for a label like this.
Oh and LeAnn Rimes too but she's still young enough to make it on a different label as well.

Other possibilities I would love. Billy Dean Neal McCoy Phil Vassar Mark Wills Though none were quite big enough to make me believe they will ever end up with them. Jo Dee and Patty would fit in nicely with Nash Icons.

Jo Dee Messina, Patty Loveless, and Terri Clark would all be wonderful choices for Nash Icon. OTOH, I can't see Dolly Parton going for it; she doesn't need them.

Neal and Billy however I don't see as having high shots. I like them, but they never flew as high as the others mentioned. I'd like to think Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Byrd have a shot too but I think Mark is happy where he is. Meanwhile Tracy has basically disappeared. :( Either way I'm excited to see who can be signed and I'm hoping NashIcons can be successful enough to inspire copy cat labels from the other major label groups.

Tracy is taking a long break from music to be with his kids and wife. I doubt he ever records another album again, and if he does it probably won't be for another few years from now.

I think Terri makes a lot of sense considering her radio show is on their channels right? Jo Dee I think is a good fit, I just worry that she's liking her freedom and wouldn't take the offer if it came. As for Patty, I know she's semi-retired and I think she was tired of the work involved in a career. I'd like to think Scott Borchetta can convince her though. She's dearly missed by a ton of fans!

Here's something interesting I just noticed...when you google "Show Dog Nashville" and then click on SDU's website link, it takes you to Universal Music's homepage and not the Show Dog site.
I wonder if it's just a simple mistake or if there's something going on there? All links to Show Dog Universal re-route to Universal Music's homepage.

Show Dog is now just an inprint with its own staff funded by Toby Keith. When they dropped the staff with the restructuring announcement, they dropped the "Universal" from their name.

I was waiting to change their name (remove the "Universal" part) until after their website changed, but until recently it still said Show Dog-Universal, and now the website is either offline or gone entirely. Plus, like @smoothdancer said, their Facebook page is gone as well... I wonder what's going on in Show Dog-land..?
