She's been with Dot for a few months now. It was only made "official" now, with the official add date of "Remembering" coming on November 9th.

I went back to page 25 (late June-early July) and no one posted it. It was posted back in March already: Glen Campbells daughter Ashley Campbell signed to Dot Records. There's an interview on Saving Country Music with her where she confirms it. I've had her on the Dot roster (in the first post) since March when Jordan posted ^this :) In short, she signed with them many months ago already, but they're only now doing press about it since they're prepping to launch her debut single next month.

Wow, that's great news. High Valley has been one of the top artists in Canada the past 4-5 years and they had a small taste of the US charts back in late 2012 with "Love You For A Long Time." They've been attempting at breaking the US market for a while. I'm anxiously awaiting Autumn Hill to latch on state side. I'm not entirely sure how successful they can be but they do have a great label team behind them now. Edit: From Music Row.

Looks like the Swon Brothers got dropped from Arista Nashville as their not listed anymore. Not a surprise given lackluster sales and the amount of money that was put into Later On.

New artist dropping time Josh Dorr looks like he has been dropped from his label. Can't say I'm surprised.

It's time labels realize The Voice (and other reality show contests) are not going to produce a star. Millions of people watch these shows out of boredom, they pick their favorites, vote for them, follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and once the season is over, they turn their backs and wait until the show is back to repeat the process. Only a small part of the fanbase gained through these shows is interested in the artist's career and buy their music. The show's rates and the social network following creates an illusion of the interest being bigger than it actually is. Then when the moment of truth comes and the sales are disappointing these poor people are dropped like hot potatoes. The label blames them for not being marketable and they blame the label for lack of promotion... the real problem, in my opinion, is the fanbase and its lack of actual fans.
The label didn't promote enough? What is exactly "enough"? Of course they're not going to get the same amount of promo as brand new artists. These people were on TV for months, watched by millions every week, being voted on by hundreds of thousands, gained a significant online following... of course the label that signed them will conclude they have established a fanbase big enough to rely on, meaning more intense promotion will be given to new artists trying to build a fanbase. If you have 150k followers on Twitter, 400k likes on Facebook and 200k followers on Instagram it's fair to say that a pretty high number of people will see the updates and promotion you share on your social networks. Most of your fanbase is obviously aware that you have new music out and are releasing an album. If only 20k or less bought your album, it's not because the rest didn't know, it's because they didn't care. Hard to admit the majority of people that voted on you don't care about your career, but it's a fact.
The artist is not marketable? That's not a surprise. Most of the contestants on these shows are painfully bland and boring, not a single thing to stand out, only the fact that they can sing. They have no star quality, no charisma, nothing unique, it's no surprise there's lack of interest in them. It should be known by now that ability to sing doesn't translate into being a star, it helps, but there's much more to it than that. Pair this with equally bland and boring music, many times really bad too, and the chances at stardom are basically none. The label can do what it wants with these people because since they have no "personality" of their own they'll become and do what they're told. They try to sell an image that isn't genuine, many times not even genuine to who they presented themselves to be on the show, obviously the chances of that failing are very high.
I actually feel sorry for these artists, they've obviously been deluded by their own fanbase and believe they'll have success. It's even sadder for people that had been signed and dropped before going on the show, to build hope again only to be crushed one more time. Maybe labels will finally learn and if they still want to sign these people, have more realistic expectations and let them know what the bigger problem is... maybe they already do, but the artists are still deluded into thinking they've built a big and reliable fanbase.

A label should really sign Aaron Watson. He is such a great and talented singer and he deserves a shot.

Well maybe he would sign to Wheelhouse like Granger Smith did. Wise choice for his career.

I think Waterloo Revival got the shaft. They appear to be off Big Machine Label website not surprised though as it appeared radio just didn't want their music and it seemed like fans were arguably in the same boat.

They went too far from their roots. "Hit the Road" started them out and then "Bad For You" ruined their reputation.

Unlike Lynn's daughters, the Lynns. I'm really excited about them signing Tara. I'm sure she will have some success. They made a great decision when they signed her and Ashley Campbell. Both have traditional Country roots.

Cold River Records signs Drew Baldridge. Saw him open for Josh Turner in August - wasn't the least bit impressed. He just didn't seem to have found a musical identity. He claimed Turner was his inspiration for pursuing music, yet his band had bass players but no fiddles or steel/slide guitars. His voice wasn't half bad, but he seemed most comfortable when he did a medley of 90's pop hits.
