I can't confirm it for sure but on the Mediabase Adds board Sarah Darling's new single "Little Umbrellas" is listed as 764/Arista for it's label....did Sarah sign there?! It's supposed to say Aristo, as in AristoMedia. and Jhomes goes and steals my happy lol :(

Yes, Aristo is promoting Sarah Darling right now. That'll help on Music Row and some Indicators but we'll see about everywhere else.

Looks like promotion of future Uncle Kracker singles will fall to RPM Entertainment. From Country Aircheck Today (6/19): » Kracker Barrels: Sugar Hill Records and RPM Entertainment have formed a "strategic alliance," with Sugar Hill artist Uncle Kracker the first to benefit from the partnership. Sugar Hill's roster includes Kracker, Don Williams, Pat Green, Kathy Mattea and others, while RPME manages Maggie Rose, Yarn, Humming House, Carolina Story and songwriter Matt Ramsey. "[RPME] has one of the best and most experienced country music executive and promotion staffs in town," says Sugar Hill GM/SVP Cliff O'Sullivan. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, it appears that Jamey Johnson and Julianne Hough are no longer with UMG. It doesn't surprise me to hear that Julianne is gone, and I know Jamey isn't exactly a radio guy, but I would be a bit surprised if it's true. Anyway, the reason I say this is because I saw a couple of photos on Facebook the other day, and they appear to show all of the UMG artists, except for Jamey and Julianne. The first is from Kelleigh Bannen's page--she posted the photo and since it's kinda big, I'm just gonna link to it rather than shrink it down. CLICK HERE. The 2nd is the cover photo for UMG Nashville's Facebook page: It's a little hard to view everything, but here's what I got: Top row: Brothers Osborne, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Canaan Smith, Keith Urban, Kacey Musgraves, Sugarland, Kelleigh Bannen. Row #2: Eric Paslay, George Strait, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, Alan Jackson, Josh Turner, Chris Stapleton. Row #3: Randy Montana, Vince Gill, Billy Currington, Randy Rogers Band, Drake White, David Nail, Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan. Row #4: Kip Moore, Lauren Alaina, Josh Kelley, Easton Corbin, Mickey Guyton, Shania Twain, Little Big Town, Scotty McCreery. The picture that Kelleigh Bannen posted seems to match, although it appears that there is one other new group on EMI that is not in the UMG page photo. No Jamey Johnson or Julianne Hough in either photo, but everyone else is accounted for. This also confirms that Mallary Hope is no longer with UMG. Julianne Hough being let go makes sense. She was never gonna get another hit on radio even if the label were to release a song. And I'd guess that Jamey's contract just ran out or something like that.

Ella Mae Bowen is no longer listed at Big Machine Records, I think she got dropped... Since they didn't ever really do anything with her and now have Danielle Bradbery, it makes a ton of sense.

I read somewhere that Gwen Sebastian's debut album is being distributed by Warner Music Nashville. Has she signed with them? There's always a possibility that Gwen could sign with a bigger label, but I don't think that's the case here. Many indie labels have distribution deals with major record companies, so I'm thinking that's what this situation is. Most of the small indie labels (including Gwen's label Flying Island) haven't been around for that long and they don't have the money or resources to actually manufacture and distribute thousands of albums, so they make deals with the "big 3" (Sony, UMG, Warner) for distribution. This is correct. Sony Music Nashville promotes RPM (Maggie Rose) Warner distributes quite a few these days including Bigger Picture, Hit Stop, Blaster and now Flying Island (who also has Ray Scott).

Ella Mae Bowen is no longer listed at Big Machine Records, I think she got dropped... I posted something in another thread. Ella posted on FB that they parted ways. Ella was really only signed because one of her songs was gonna be on the Hunger Games Soundtrack. She is still young and in interviews it seemed like she wanted to go at her pace and go with the flow in a way and take time to make music. I didn't see this going far. There will be an EP out this fall released independently. Hopefully she's learned from this experience because she has talent it just needs to be refined in a way and I think when she's older she could go places, just not her time right now.

Excited to see what Big Machine is able to do with Laura Bell Bundy! I loved Achin' and Shakin' and I'm looking forward to new music from her.

I'll go ahead and add LBB to the Big Machine roster in the first post, although I still think that her signing with Big Machine could mostly be because of Dance Y'all, and therefore I'm not necessarily convinced that they'll treat her or this 'deal' like they treat their other artists. In other words, she may not get a bunch of stuff pushed to radio. Time will tell, though.
I over-hauled the first post a few days ago but will edit now to add LBB, Danielle Bradbery, and the new HitShop artist as well.

I think they're going to push her as much as they've done with The Mavericks, more of a stunt signing. They both have fan bases that'll buy their albums enough to be profitable but I doubt they expect much interms of chart action. I'm wondering what happened to Savannah Keyes? Didn't she sign with Republic not long ago? Now they have both Cassadee and Danielle Bradberry to launch, 3 females sounds like one of them'll get dropped which will mean Savannah. Or they could move her to Valory cause they don't have much going on atm.

HitShop Records has partnered with Ronnie Dunn.
Little Will-E Records is Ronnie's label and HitShop will be promoting the single/album and of course that means Warner Music Nashville's the distribution for the album.

Is Pearl Recods (Garth Brooks Label) a sister company to one of the big labels, or is it a new label that Garth started up?

Is Pearl Recods (Garth Brooks Label) a sister company to one of the big labels, or is it a new label that Garth started up? Pearl Records is the label home to Garth Brooks and Garth Brooks alone. It's managed by his management team and has partnered with Capitol, Lyric Street and Big Machine for promotional purposes only. He owns all his recordings and masters (which is why they're not in Digital stores). Look for his next record -- whenever that is -- to be released by Pearl with the distribution/promotion partnership announced at that time.

New signing according to the Boot:
It’s been a big year for sibling trio Taylor Made. The threesome, who were named Independent Artist of the Year by Music Row Magazine, have just signed with Tenacity Records, using the established record company in conjunction with their home label, Little General Records, for radio promotions.
“We are proud to be associated with Music Row’s new artist of the year and look forward to contributing to their future successes,” Tenacity Records President Mike Kraski says in a press release.
“We’ve had a wonderful ride so far,” Little General Records owner Greg Darby adds. “We’re looking forward to taking Taylor Made’s success to the next level with the help of Tenacity.”
Taylor Made’s previous singles include ‘Good Love’ and ‘Things You Don’t Grow Out Of,’ which landed in the Top 20 on Music Row’s chart. Their current single is ‘That’s How I Roll,’ from the album ‘Taylor County Line.’ Based in West Virginia, they will play several shows in their home state this summer. Keep track of all of their concerts here.

Two new additions the the Big Machine Label Group Web Site; Laura Bell Bundy listed under the Big Machine Records; and, Danielle Bradberry was added to Republic Nashville. Danielle Bradbery is now listed under Big Machine Records, according to their website. A couple of days after being listed under Republic Nashville, she was transferred and is included there now since.

Steve Holy is STILL with CURB!!! Found this on his Facebook, new single "Radio Up" COMING SOON!!! Posted on July 8th!!! www.facebook.com/steveholyYou've got to be kidding! Steve Holy, run like holy hell from Curb! Love Steve Holy don't run. But, in all seriousness, Steve Holy isn't an artist who needs to get away from Curb. He got lucky on two occasions over the years, but all his other singles have yielded lukewarm results and I just can't imagine that he'd be better off anywhere else at this point. At least Curb allows him to continue releasing singles (even if an album doesn't always materialize with them)... otherwise, I think he would've completely fallen off the radar a long time ago because any other label would've cut their losses and dropped him. Not that it matters to me, because I'm not a fan of Steve Holy's voice (I think it's quite terrible actually).

I just don't think they've really decided which Sony label to put Angie on.

I just don't think they've really decided which Sony label to put Angie on. This is absolutely correct. Angie wouldn't have released an EP at all had it not been a Kickstarter funded recording. On a side note. Steve Holy's new single "Radio Up" was released by Curb this week. So he's STILL with the label.

It looks like there are a couple more artists on the Warner Music Nashville label. The winner of CW's The Next, Michael Ray, won a contract with Atlantic Records and he is indeed part of WMN now it would seem, as he was mentioned in the BCU the other day as one of their new artists that would be playing the Pickin' On The Patio series in Nashville later this summer/fall. I'll bet that Michael Ray will be listed as Atlantic/WMN just like Hunter Hayes and Brett Eldredge are. The same BCU article (it's the headline story in the BCU from Monday) mentions a new duo, Dan & Shay, that have signed with the label. Here's the snippet from the BCU: In the meantime, WMN is turning the volume up even higher on new acts. Michael Ray, who picked up a recording deal after being mentored by John Rich on the 2012 CW competition “The Next,” played the company’s monthly Pickin’ On the Patio showcase on July 25. Dean Alexander, who’s been on the roster at least two years, is expected to hit the marketplace by 2014. And Hendricks was doing production work last week on a new duo, Dan & Shay. I've had Dean Alexander listed as Elektra/WMN already for a while now, but I'll be updating the first post again soon to reflect the new signings, as well as new signings to other labels. The first post hasn't been updated in a couple of weeks but I'll get to it here shortly.
