When 1989 Red will pass Lady Antebellum? Can Speak Now pass Recovery? Recovery and Speak Now are no longer charting, but it's likely that Recovery is selling better on a weekly basis.

They need to discount miranda and get her that gold record ASAP. The album still has plenty of potential with a third single though "Platinum" has already been certified Gold with the RIAA. They need to discount it to get it to "Platinum." It might not make it.

They need to discount it to get it to "Platinum." It might not make it. It would be her first album to miss the mark. Ironic in the most obvious way.

She'll get a boost from the CMAs next month, and it will almost certainly get some genre nods at the Grammys

Things are starting to look a little better than they did at the beginning of the year. Obviously not great, but at least we'll hit 1 platinum album this year for sure, and I still hold out hope that we could get 2 or 3 more by year end with holiday sales and some aggressive pricing. Labels are going to want to post decent Q4 numbers, and its time they realize that selling a smaller profit margin is where this needs to be headed

Go ahead and put Taylor Swift at #1 for albums released in 2014. Seriously, she only need one friggin day to outsold all but top 5 album released in 2014, I repeat, one friggin day, not week. 600k in one week is for noobs, Tay Tay say.

^I don't know and I don't think the 1k difference really matters.
I'm fine saying 2 million sold. We'll probably get the updated figure next week.

TG for Taylor, we probably would have gone all 2014 without a double-platinum release. We're probably safe until 2017 since 2015 will have Adele and 2016 will have Taylor's 6th album.

Curious thing that Coldplay dominated for months like in UK. Now is the fourth album there too (behind Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and George Ezra)

They need to discount miranda and get her that gold record ASAP. The album still has plenty of potential with a third single though "Platinum" has already been certified Gold with the RIAA. They need to discount it to get it to "Platinum." It might not make it. I think it'll get there. It will take awhile, but the material is strong enough to go 5 or 6 singles deep.

So, with the projected sales around 350k for 1989 next week, is it safe to assume that it will be #8 next week? I think when all is said and done, 1989 could pass 5 million
