Can anyone tell me where Reba's new single stands this week? I know she fell one slot to 23 on Billboard. How about R & R?

Way to go te Reba - this past week she cracked the top 20 at Billboard, moving 23-20* and leaping back over Montgomery Gentry. BTW, if anyone's intersted, you can hear "Sky Full Of Angels", a track from the upcoming Room To Breathe, at this site: extremereba.com/

I am pleased, but the current slow down is worrying me. If this song stalls in the teens like "Lovin' All Night", "What The World Needs", "Backseat Of A Greyhound Bus", "There's More To Me Than You", etc. heads should roll at radio. >:(

I agree completely - those are some really good songs that radio just pulled the plug on ("Lovin' All Night" could still rebound, but I doubt it). I really thought Reba would buck the trend, and I have faith that she will, but this past week hasn't exactly been the most encouraging.

It's up one spot to #19 on BB this week. Gains are still below 100 though. >:(

TCorey do you get Monitor, I do, but haven't gotten mine yet. This is the week Billboard envoked the new rules on the panel with explains the Lonestar drop to #20 and the surpringly recurrent status of Beer For my Horses.

No I don't get Airplay Monitor, I was referring to it's current gains on Mediabase.
What were the new rules for Billboard's panel?

For a station to be able to report on billboard country's chart, 60% of that station's top 30 playlist must be currents. This change in rule ended up knocking out 18 stations including KKBQ in Houston and KSD in St Louis.

I'm suprised she moved up this week - happy, but surprised. She picked up a bunch of spins on this morning's update - hopefully that's a sign that she's picking back up again.

Today gains are back to +143, so hopefully it's picking up steam as it heads for the Top 10.
BTW, I changed the topic title to reflect the discussion.

Reba made some more nice jumps this week - up 16-13* at R&R; 19-16* on the Billboard chart. I think the panel change is helping her out a bit, but at this point it's looking like she's going to get the big hit that she deserves.

I'm quite disappointed to see this. It's a very minor spin loss, though (gotta look on the bright side ;)), but this is not a good sign. Plus, the songs been losing 5-10 spins a day for the past 3-4 days on Mediabase. I can't believe country radio is denying IGTTM to become the hit it deserves to be.

Despite losing spins for the last couple days, Reba jumps to #14 on Billboard this week.

I've noticed that that part of the chart seems to have stalled with Lonestar's bullet also vanishing. Her loss of spins has decreased the last two days, so hopefully she'll regain the bullet by the weekend. With several weeks till the album's release I would hope that MCA will do all they can to not let this song die now.

Article from this week's Billboard:
REBA GIVES HERSELF SOME ‘ROOM’ ON NEW CD
Energived by a long break form recording and touring, Reba McEntire returns to the country market Nov. 18 with the much-anticipated album “Room To Breathe.”
Other than a greatest-hits project in 2001, the longtime MCA-Nashville artist hasn’t released an album in four years. But McEntire has hardly been taking it easy.
She followed a critically acclaimed run on Broadway starring in “Annie Get Your Gun” with her own sitcom, “Reba.” Now in it’s third season, “Reba” is the WB network’s highest-rated comedy. McEntire is the show’s executive producer as well as its star.
Aptly Named Album
McEntire says her long hiatus between albums was partly by design.
“The reason I named the album “Room To Breathe” is because I needed a little room to breathe” after 25 years of nearly nonstop touring and recording, she says.
But McEntire admits that another part of the delay between albums was because of the regime change at MCA earlier this year. Chairman Bruce Hinton retired and was replaced by Luke Lewis, who installed an almost entirely new staff.
“We wanted to make sure everyone was in place and had their stuff together before we came [out] with an album,” she says.
“Room To Breathe,” produced by Buddy Cannon and Norro Wilson, contains a diverse mix of songs and styles that McEntire calls “very eclectic” and “almost autobiographical.”
The album’s first single, “I’m Gonna Take That Mountain,” is the kind of strong-woman songs McEntire is known for. It got off to a quick start at radio and this issue climbs from No. 16 to No 14 after just 10 weeks on Hot Country Singles & Tracks.
It is McEntire’s 67th charting single, which includes 19 No. 1 hits.
McEntire’s resume also includes 13 platinum or multi-platinum albums and eight gold-certified titles. It’s no surprise that radio programmers say they are glad to have one of the format’s best-known female stars back with a new hit.
“Reba transcends the format,” country WWYS Hartford, Conn., PD Justin Case says. “Her success on Broadway, on TV and in the movies makes her a recognizable name and face. Her voice is immediately recognizable to the core audience. She is a great ambassador for country music.”
Brad Hansen, PD of country KTTS Springfield, Mo., agrees.
“She’s still one of the best performers on any format,” Hansen says. “Reba has star power and class; she stays true to country but has mass appeal.”
Among the standout tracks on “Room To Breathe” are the touching “Moving Oleta,” the gospel rave-up “Love Revival” and the duet with her longtime friend Vince Gill, “It Just Has To Be This Way.” In addition to Gill, guest performers on the album include Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Linda Davis and Sonya Isaacs.
When it came time to record again, McEntire, who is not a songwriter herself, had plenty of great outside material to choose from.
“It was the greatest bunch of songs that I’d ever received,” she says, noting that she could have recorded a second album with all the material she had at her disposal. Finding songs is her favorite part of the recording process. “It’s like fishing in a diamond mine,” she says. But the album’s diversity of styles was not planned. McEntire says she simply selected songs that touched her heart the most.
Logical Cross Promotion
The Grammy Award-winning singer will be visible promoting the album this fall with appearances on “Access Hollywood,” “CNN Headline News,” “The Today Show,” and “The View.” She plans to tour to support “Room To Breathe” during her TV show’s April-through-August hiatus next year. Derek Simon, VP of marketing for MCA and Mercury, says the label executives “spent a lot of time with the folks at the WB to try to find ways to cross-promote the show to Reba’s country audience and market the record to her TV audience. “Fortunately, we have really, really cooperative partner in the WB,” adds Simon, who says the album’s marketing plan is “just a matter of building her visability.” He notes that it is a unique opportunity to put a face from TV with a fairly aggressive consumer advertising platform that targets country and mainstream media and several radio formats. “When your artist is the star of a major sitcom, there is a natural connection, and it would be negligent not to try and reach fans of her television show,” says Simon. McEntire is being marketed as “someone who has a presence well beyond music because of the mass medium of television.” Among the more creative cross-promotions is a tie-in with TV Guide. McEntire will featured on the cover a mid-November issue, and an insert in that issue will direct readers to a Web site, where they can stream the audio and video for “I’m Gonna Take That Mountain” and download the single. MCA also partnered with the WB for a sweepstakes to win dinner with the cast of “Reba.” The new CD will contain contest information, which can also be found on the WB’s Web site. All of these efforts are bolstered by McEntire’s close involvement in the efforts to promote her project. “Reba is so focused and locked in,” Simon says of her participation in the marketing plan. “It’s a pleasure to work with an artist who understands the big picture.”

The radio station in Hartford is WWYZ, not WWYS. That's the second Reba mistake Billboard has made recently. To those who didn't read it or don't remember the first was when they said her last single was in 1999 and they had to post a correction letter than Billboard missed her Greatest Hits singles.

Not to mention that the article states she has 19 #1 hits, when she really has 21. She's also got 14 platinum or multi-platinum, not 13. It's a pretty positive article on her, which is nice to see. Also nice to see is that IGTTM, while below its mid-week spin total, has picked up about 25 spins since yesterday, while it's bullet loss is getting smaller and smaller.

Well, reports indicate that the single has slipped 3 places to 17 on Billboard. Not sure about R & R though. I hope she can recover next week...if not, we're in major trouble.

She moves back to #13 this week at R&R, but it's without a bullet. This isn't good news at all. I'm hopeful that she'll recover, but this isn't good.

The loss of spins is down to -8, which is the least it's been since the song lost it's bullet. I'm hoping she regains it tomorrow, if not I think the song is finished.

Her trend is -33 this morning, but she has the same # of spins as she did on the last update, it's just that the LW total for her when up about 25 spins. So, hopefully, she'll rebullet next update.
EDIT: As of today (Nov. 3rd), Reba's got her bullet back, but it's only +1. Let's hope she can build it back up.

Well the bullet is back today at +23. Hopefully MCA is going to push hard in these last two weeks before the album's release and make this song turn around.
