This is their new single right? If yes, then this is the 5th single released from "Home". I saw the video for this song like three, four times this week on CMT, but somehow radio stations are not playing this song... I wonder why...

I wonder... I don't even know that Sony is pushing it to radio. After the reception to "Godspeed" it's probably not even worth it. I never saw an adds date or anything. It is getting promoted on TV though, so yes it's the 5th single. Too bad about radio's reaction because this is one of the best songs to come out in a long long time and it's the best song on the Home album hands down. Amazing song.

"Top Of The World" is definitely one of the highlights on "Home". I was hoping that "Truth #2" would have been released as the follow up to "Traveling Soldier" as originally planned before the "ashamed" comment fiasco.

The song is really good, but if it is being released to radio... don't you think their releases are a little too slow? People could get bored of them. Now, I could have sworn they only released three singles from "Home" prior to this... but I guess not. What are all four?
The video for "Top of the World" creeps me out!

It's such a shame that this whole 'incident' had to derail one of the best albums to come along in years. The "Top Of The World" video is abosolutely amazing, but that's to be expected from videos that the Chicks release. At this point, the money they'd spend by trying to promote it to radio is probably much better spent on the video. At least CMT Canada is playing it like crazy - it debuted at #16 on their chart this week after only premiering less than 2 weeks ago.

VH1 played the video this morning. I only saw about the first minute before I had to leave though.

Is there an official release date on AllAccess set for "Top Of The World"?
I have seen the video mutliple times on VH1 (quite an eerie yet beautiful video, especially when Natalie sits in the armchair with the ghost of what is supposedly the little girl's father or grandfather in the video overlapping her image) yet haven't seen any Adds reported on MediaBase.
I can see this besting the peak of "Godspeed" but the Dixie Chicks may still have difficulties breaking the Top 30 if it also becomes a radio single.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Seriously, that comment was made months ago... why can't radio get over it? This song deserves to be a hit, plain and simple.

I liked this song from first listen, but today it really hit me exactly how good it is. I think it's among their best ever... I really hope Country radio finally gives in and plays this song (not that it would matter to me anyway, since there are no country stations anywhere near me, but for the Chicks' sake)

Honestly, there's really even no chance that this song (or anything the Chicks put out right now) would get played on country radio. I actually think that radio is more hostile to them now, since Natalie's letter & Martie's German interview than they were 4-5 months ago.

Honestly this whole comment situation is really getting old. Hell I support The Dixie Chicks and what they said. Bush is an idoit and I would be embarassed if he was from Maine. It couldn't of come at a worst time too. Because "Home" is probably the best country cd to come out in a long time. And "Travelin Solider" was the most amazing song. It really should've been one of the biggest hits of the year especially with the war going on. And i want to clarify my comments about Bush. I support our troops but not GWB.

I think what's hurt them more is Natalie saying they don't consider themselves as country artists anymore. They would have been forgiven somewhat for the Bush comments over time, but taking a stab at the industry that made you stars will just kill them at country.
Good luck at Hot AC and AAA Chicks.

That didn't happen. And it wasn't Natalie that supposedly said that, it was Martie that "supposedly" said that. And it didn't happen. The German TABLOID that interviewed them got it all wrong.

I like the Chicks and their music, however, I think they have some serious PR problems in the US that may affect future sales, etc. At this point in time, it doesn't matter who is right or wrong. It's just a fact. The video for this song is amazing. With that said, I think VH1 has really reduced its rotation. I haven't seen it in a few weeks.

The single is getting nada nada zip in airplay and so there is no large promotional driving force behind this single, thus it makes sense VH1 is reducing the rotation for this video. Knowing that VH1 had the heart to rotate this in the first place, Dixie Chicks are obviously still welcome on at least one large media network. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Aout the song... My brother compared this to "Hotel California" and "Stairway to Heaven," and I couldn't disagree.

Exactly! I wish it could be the debut single off one of their albums.

Knowing that VH1 had the heart to rotate this in the first place, Dixie Chicks are obviously still welcome on at least one large media network. I definitely see what you're saying, and I agree with it to an extent... but at the same time I think VH1 should be playing this more for several reasons. VH1 added this video knowing it wasn't going to be a big radio song and knowing it wasn't going to be an official single. Hence, they should have used the fact that they were airing it to be somewhat of an "exclusive" or something other like that. Also, I feel that when a popular artist makes a more artsy, cutting edge, different, high budget video for a song that isn't even going to radio, the video outlets should pick it up. Airplay should be irrelevant in this case. VH1 overplayed Dave Matthews' "Gravedigger" despite no major airplay and a far less amazing video. Just my opinion.
