NEW YORK (AP) — New Kids On the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men are teaming up for a summer tour.
The groups announced "The Package Tour" on Tuesday morning on "The View" and also performed. It's the first time on tour in 12 years for 98 Degrees.
New Kids On the Block also announced a new single, "Remix (I Like The)," will be released Jan. 28 and a new album, "10," is out April 2.
The three bands sold millions of records in the 1980s and '90s and helped usher in a wave of vocal groups that continues today.
The tour starts May 31 in Uncasville, Conn., and continues into July with more than 30 dates.

Im really curious about the album as well and donnie doesnt't seem to be saying much about how the records sounds like. All he's saying is that its great pop songs showing where they are right now in their life.

New Kids On The Block "10" Album Review — 5 out of 5 stars Tue, 26 Mar 2013 09:44:20 "I like the new you," Donnie Wahlberg croons on "Remix I Like The", the first single from New Kids on the Block's, 10. He could very well be talking about his group's latest record. 10 feels unequivocally and undeniably "new". It's not the work of a pop juggernaut reaching for past glories; it's the epic vision of five musicians whose feet are firmly planted in the future and are still leading the pack. That's the most magical and marvelous thing about 10. It's New Kids On The Block's best album to date and a 21st century pop milestone. "We Own Tonight" builds elegantly from orchestral production into a swooping refrain. It's an a propos opener to the epic to follow. Then, there's "Remix I Like The", which stands proudly alongside the Boston quintet's hottest hits. Joey McIntyre exudes effusive swagger as he delivers each note with the bombast and brilliance of a legend. He and Wahlberg volley back and forth seamlessly as the beat pulsates beneath them. The harmonies on "Take My Breath Away" simply shimmer as Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, and Danny Wood all showcase their impressive pipes. These boys are the original pop super group, and they wear that badge proudly. "Fighting Gravity" floats into spacey soul territory, while "Miss You More" replaces distance with a warm hook and a slick melody. Their delicate balance of R&B, pop, and rock has never felt so tempered and tight. It's as if the New Kids machine has ultimately benefitted from over two decades, gaining steam instead of slowing down. Then, there's "Now Or Never". It's sunny propulsive pop that's got all kinds of cinematic potential. Everything culminates on the final ballad "Survive You". There's a doo-wop undercurrent that bristles just beneath the big, bombastic hook. Everything is as "new" as it as ever was with New Kids On The Block. —Rick Florino 03.26.13 Read more at www.artistdirect.com/entertainment-news/article/new-kids-on-the-block-10-album-review-5-out-of-5-stars/10446574#OLBUYw6Jwl5LsmH5.99

Jonathan Knight 'sorry' for walking off stage during NKOTB showBy Us Weekly Jonathan Knight was not quite ready to face the music at iHeartRadio's New Kids on the Block concert in New York City earlier this week. Halfway through the April 4 show, the singer -- who has admitted in the past to suffering social anxiety -- walked off stage alone, leaving his bandmates to continue without him. Afterward, he took to his Twitter account to apologize for the sudden departure, writing simply, "I'm sorry..." Footage of the incident shows that Knight, 44, was visibly uncomfortable from the very beginning of the hourlong set. While his fellow New Kids -- Jordan Knight, 42, Joey McIntyre, 40, Donnie Wahlberg, 43, and Danny Wood, 43 -- bounced around the stage energetically and engaged with the audience, Knight hung back by himself. At one point, he appeared to be looking at his cellphone in the middle of a song. Then, a little more than 25 minutes into the concert, the group introduced a ballad, "Survive You," from their new album, 10. Knight was supposed to do a solo, but when it came time for him to sing, he couldn't get the words out. "Jon, these people paid thousands of dollars for these tickets. For one reason. They heard that you're singing on this record," Wahlberg joked, putting a supportive arm around his bandmate. Knight laughed uncomfortably, then walked offstage shaking his head as the remaining four continued the song. The band told their fans (known as Blockheads, or BHs) that he would return -- but he didn't, despite repeated chants from the crowd. (Toward the end of the evening, McIntyre quipped that he was locked in the bathroom.) Fans were understandably concerned. Twelve years ago, in an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey, Knight confessed that debilitating panic attacks led him to become something of a recluse in the 1990s. "The whole New Kids thing was crazy. The more it grew, the more I just felt like I was trapped. I just always had this feeling inside me of always being nervous and afraid of situations," he explained. "From 1994 to 1997, I did nothing," he told Winfrey of how he coped. "I slept and slept and slept. If I was awake, I had to deal with things, I had to do things. In order to avoid that, I would just stay in bed. You go through the whole thing, too, like 'I'm weird or I'm strange,' and it just makes your whole self shrink down even more." In any case, Knight appeared to be feeling better on Friday, April 5, when he performed "We Own Tonight" with the group on the TODAY show. Afterward, the band went online to reassure concertgoers that he was okay. "Not 2 worry BHs, all is well w Jon!" a tweet on the NKOTB account read. "It was a crazy album release week & we are all on a plane to Napa & look fwd to a grt show this weekend!" Source

On the scene: NKOTB take it step by step at Andy Cohen's 'Watch What Happens Live'by Lanford Beard When Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen described the members of New Kids on the Block as the first boy band-turned-man band, he wasn’t kidding. Faster than you could say “Mazel!” the Beantown balladeers were talking about Joey McIntyre’s junk, and the adult conversation didn’t stop until the WWHL aftershow cameras clicked off. Fresh off the release of their album 10, McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood, and brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight were eager to take on everything Cohen had on tap. As is custom at the Bravo Clubhouse, this included cheekily named games with titles like “New Kids on the Jock” (yes, that was a bulge-identifying contest — which they nailed) and “Who Kids on the Block” — a kiss-and-tell, Newlywed Game-style lark during which we learned Danny has always done well with the ladies and that Joey is, very proudly, the quintet’s biggest Masshole. Joey and Donnie, NKOTB’s two Hollywood-approved actors, were most chatty. Jordan was surprisingly serious, Danny enthusiastically tapped his feet to a clip of their latest single “Remix (I Like The)” but also piped in just enough to prove he’s the coolest cat of the five, and Jon was as endearingly quiet as ever, barely uttering a word before admitting during the aftershow that fan tattoos weirded him out. Donnie’s response? “I like the tattoos! Why is it cool to get a Mötley Crüe tattoo and not a New Kids [one]?” That said, the fans‘ bodies weren’t what kept the WWHL crowd (read: nostalgia-tripping thirtysomethings and at least one tipsy mom) squeeing. Leave that to Donnie and Joey’s well-honed air humping and an after-aftershow dance party to Ginuwine’s “Pony,” a.k.a. the song the guys unanimously named their Magic Mike-style stripper anthem. When Joey promised he and fellow Package Tour mates Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees had made an “intergroup challenge to get in shape” so they could offer up maximum shirtlessness this summer… forget about it. It seems NKOTB has hit the sweet spot of knowing exactly what the fans want and being delighted to give it to them. As Donnie said of getting pumped for a concert, “There’s nothing like walking on stage to 20,000 screaming women — if that doesn’t get you up, nothing will.” Somewhere between genuine and calculated, this hint of innuendo mixed with a sincere graciousness is exactly what’s given the group its longevity. ”Please Don’t Go Girl”? Unlikely. At the end of the day, though, these five guys have been with each other more than anyone else for the greater part of three decades. Their brotherhood showed in their jokes about Joey’s huge… ummm… Package and their endless razzing of Danny for his choices in an after show round of Marry-Shag-Kill: Boy Band Edition. (Sorry, Lachey brothers!) They had each other’s backs and kept mum when a question about former hook-ups arose, though Joey later admitted he shared a kiss with Jon’s ex-girlfriend Tiffany many years before. Jon, who came out in 2011 and is in a committed relationship, was unfazed. As the guys prepare for The Package Tour (a name Joey devised, naturally), their unflagging playfulness comes once again in handy. Fielding questions both serious (wives, families, and Jon’s desire to have kids) and silly (fashion disasters, current underwear preferences — boxer briefs for all but Joey, who said simply, “I’m free”), they continue to revel in the strange, decades-long journey of a boys-to-men band. Then again, with thousands of stops behind them and thousands yet to go, it probably didn’t hurt that tonight’s stayover came with a shot of bourbon and a pickle juice chaser.

Look Who's Back! New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees, and Boyz II Men JULY 2, 2013 – 9:00 AM By PARADE @parademagazine Parade’s 2nd Annual Boy Band Issue Is Here! This Sunday, Parade goes gaga for boy bands, issuing three separate covers showcasing the stars of one of the summer’s hottest events: the Package Tour, with headliners New Kids on the Block and featured acts 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men! Parade reports that total earnings from The Package Tour’s ticket sales are projected to be more than $43 million, and it’s clear that fan loyalty has not diminished over the decades since the bands first hit it big. In fact, when the New Kids played the Today show after announcing their reunion in 2008, “Fans started lining up two days early,” recalls Today Executive Producer Don Nash. “Some of them even had their NKOTB sleeping bags from when they were young.” Fast forward to now, for $999, grownup Blockheads can buy the “Total Package” on this summer’s tour, including a reserved seat inside the security barricade and a meet-and-greet photo op with the New Kids in their dressing room. This type of one-on-one attention the bands are giving to fans is paying off in a big way. Check out highlights from Parade’s behind-the-scenes cover story with the bands below, and be sure to pick up this weekend’s issue of Parade for the full story. On the lucrative business of boy bands:“We’re the best-kept really big secret going right now. We are a successful small business. It’s us and our customers. The more satisfied our fans are, the more satisfied we are.” —Donnie Wahlberg (New Kids on the Block) On today’s boy bands and young stars like Justin Bieber:“Thinking back to other boy bands and Justin Bieber—people go through a natural life evolution. Everyone knows when you’re 18 you get restless and you want to move away from home and start experimenting. It’s fascinating that we don’t apply [that knowledge] to famous people.” —Donnie Wahlberg (New Kids on the Block) On their early fame:“It’s just a peculiar position to be in. A large percentage of the population treats you like you can walk on water, and others treat you like you’re not worth [anything.] The truth is somewhere in the middle, and to find that truth is the real struggle. If we believed the adoration of all the girls, we could easily have lost our way; if we believed the spite of the naysayers, we could have lost our way in the opposite direction. Fortunately, we had each other. We didn’t allow anyone to get too carried away.” —Donnie Wahlberg (New Kids on the Block) On their fans:“They range from 7 to 70. We have the parents and the kids who listened 20 years ago, and now those kids have kids they’ve passed the music down to.” —Nathan Morris (Boyz II Men) “It’s weird calling them ‘fans.’ I mean, we love to rock the house and they love to play their role in that as well. But offstage, it really is a family. There’s just a ton of love.” —Joey McIntyre (New Kids on the Block) On the excitement of touring with NKOTB:“For us, this is kind of a dream scenario. You get to tour with the group that basically invented the current boy-band genre.” —Drew Lachey (98 Degrees) On what they miss about the 1990s:“My 20s.” —Nick Lachey (98 Degrees) On how they’re different now:“We’re better dressed.” —Justin Jeffre (98 Degrees)

New Kids on the Block Reality Show Among TV Guide Network’s Development ProjectsBy Tim Kenneally on November 12, 2013 @ 10:55 am “Rock the Boat” will feature NKOTB fans cruising with their idols New Kids on the Block are hoping for some smooth sailing with the TV Guide Network. The former boy-band sensation sits at the center of one of seven projects TV Guide Network (TVGN) has put into development, the network said Tuesday. The project in question, “Rock the Boat: New Kids on the Block,” will center on NKOTB fans who take a week-long party cruise with the group. The series, which is being executive produced by New Kids member Donnie Wahlberg, is intended as the first installment of a franchise, which would presumably feature other former music icons hitting the high seas with their fans.
