Kylie factor helps win ratings war for Voice UK New judges Kylie Minogue and Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs helped the first episode of the new season of The Voice UK bounce back with an extra two million viewers to top Britain's Saturday night ratings battle. An average audience of 8.4 million people watched BBC's version of the musical chairs show and it sank ITV’s celebrity diving show Splash! which paddled along on an audience of 3.7 million, according to overnight ratings. Minogue and Wilson were drafted in after pop shouter Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue of The Script stepped down from the show. Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am continue on the panel of coaches.

Who's ready to go #IntoTheBlue? Here are the lyrics for my new single, can't wait for you to hear it on January 27!! pic.twitter.com/fVUp5BRNTN Someone from SayHey wrote out the lyrics (not sure if it's 100% correct). Verse1: I drew the smile upon my face I paved the road that would one day leave me lonely No angels too good to fall from grace If she let go of whatever keeps her holy Pre-chorus: But i'm still here holding on too tight, to everything that I left behind I don't care if this world is mine Cause this is all I know Chorus: When I got my back up against the wall Don't need no one to rescue me Cause I quit waiting up for no miracle Tonight i'm running free Into The Blue, Into The Blue With nothing to lose, Into the blue Verse2: I'm not ashamed of all my mistakes Cause through the wind I still kept the fire burning These memories that I can't erase Always remind me i'm on an endless journey Pre-chorus: But i'm still here holding on too tight To everything I left behind I don't care if this world is mine Cause this is all I know Chorus: When I got my back up against the wall Don't need no one to rescue me Cause I quit waiting up for no miracle Yeah tonight i'm running free Into the blue, into the blue With nothing to lose Into the blue I'll go where nobody knows Wherever the wind is blowing Even if i'm alone When I got my back up against the wall Don't need no one to rescue me Cause I quit waiting up for no miracle Yeah tonight i'm running free Into the blue, with nothing to lose Into the blue

So excited for this...first major release of 2014 for me. She rarely disappoints, and I hope the new label is better at marketing her in the US this time around.

This single is Kylie-only, I gather? I read she will have some featurings and such on the album.
To crack the U.S. market again would be an uphill battle. When CGYOOMH hit, it was a worldwide sensation of a single, and she was still in her 30s.
She's pretty light, but I enjoy her. The SAW era is fun stuff, and I love Fever. One of my favorite tracks? One that originated on Light Years and was a Fever hidden track- "Butterfly."

"Into the Blue" (Single Cover): Seems that there will be a radio edit version, according to Amazon Spain.

Unfortunately it's incredibly dull, makes you wonder how the rest of the album is if this is the lead-off single...

It sounds like a leftover from Aphrodite. Not impressed.

Don't love it as much I loved All The Lovers on the first listen, but it's a nice song. It's a grower, I love this now.

First listen - I like this much better than "All The Lovers". The chorus is my favorite part. Production is overall too loud for her voice, though. IMO.

Standard Kylie I guess! Wouldn't have been out of place on her last album. Good production and lovely vocals.

This is miles better than "All the Lovers," but yes it does sound like it could have come straight off Aphrodite. I'm excited for the album nonetheless. Also, I wonder if we'll get a finished/updated version of "Skirt" on the album? Hopefully "Timebomb" is on it too so I can clean up my iTunes.

I haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but if it sounds like something off of Aphrodite, I'll be happy; I love that album.

Wasn't overly keen with "All the Lovers" so I'd agree that this is much better than that for comparative purposes. The strings are great and the chorus while basic is still really catchy even if kinda channels a werewolf with the "into the bluuuuuuuuueeeeee" vocal parts. My real quip tbh is the lack of dynamics or anything special with the bridge of the song (very predictable), but other than that I quite like this.

Kylie Minogue has admitted that recording her new album was difficult. The Aussie singer, who can currently be seen on BBC One's The Voice alongside Tom Jones, Will.i.am and the Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson, has told The Sun newspaper that her new record "wasn't an easy road". She said: "I actually didn't know where I was going or what the future held at the end of 2012. There's been a lot of change, this album is about taking the plunge and embracing the future and not holding on to things from the past." Last year Kylie announced she had signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation management. By signing with Roc Nation, it's thought that Kylie is trying to finally crack the US market – where she has struggled to reach the same levels of success she's had in the UK and her native Australia. "It wasn't the easiest road but signing with Roc Nation, spending a lot of time in America and doing The Voice gave me a challenge and I needed that to feel reinvigorated", she added. The singer will release 'Into The Blue' on March 16, a track on which she has worked with Kelly Sheehan, who has in the past worked with Mary J Blige, Beyonce and Rita Ora. An album will follow later in the year. Producers on the album include Greg Kurstin, Pharrell Williams, MNEK and Ariel Rechtshaid. The latter recently co-produced Haim's debut 'Days Are Gone'. Source

Sounds too similar to her Aphrodite material. Still looking forward to the album though.

Before I read any comments on "Into the Blue," I just wanna say that it's flaw-free. I FUCKING LOVE IT.

I love the new song too! I like that it's at a slightly lower tempo and has a strong 80s vibe.

The song is perfectly fine, but I wanted a major pop moment from her this time around. It's harmless, perfectly listenable. But not particularly memorable.

It's not amazing, but I like it. It sounds a lot like everything that's been on radio for the past couple of years. In comparison to her previous lead single, I actually prefer "All the Lovers" but I'm still looking forward to her album. Hopefully there will be a more stripped version of "Into the Blue".
