www.billboard.comEminem Set for Year's Second-Largest Sales Week, Seventh No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 NEWS By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | November 05, 2013 5:40 PM EST Eminem Set for Year's Second-Largest Sales Week, Seventh No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Eminem is set to rock the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart next week. The Detroit rapperβs latest album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," is on course to earn the second-largest sales week of the year and debut at No. 1. Released Tuesday (Nov. 5), industry sources forecast the new album to sell between 700,000 and 750,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Nov. 10. That should mark the second-biggest sales week of the year for an album, surpassed only by the debut of Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience," which opened with 968,000 in March, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The year's second-biggest week is currently owned by Drake's "Nothing Was the Same," which entered at No. 1 with 658,000. The expected No. 1 arrival of "The Marshall Mathers LP 2,β and official sales number, will be announced on Nov. 13. The set will mark Emimem's seventh consecutive No. 1 album. Of all his releases, only one -- his "The Slim Shady LP" debut -- missed the top slot. It debuted and peaked at No. 2 in 1999. While "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" has only been on sale less than a day, sources can project its first week based on a number of indicators. They include orders from retailers and early sales at digital retail, first-week performance of comparable albums, media exposure, radio and YouTube trends for the album's singles, and so on. Of course, a forecast is just that. So, Eminem's official sales figure, as compiled by SoundScan, could ultimately end up different from early estimates. Eminem's last album, 2010's "Recovery," blasted in at No. 1 with 741,000. And his set before that, 2009's "Relapse," entered atop the list with 608,000. Since 2008, only three hip-hop albums have sold more than 700,000 in a week: Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" in 2008 (1.01 million its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan), Eminem's "Recovery" and Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" in 2011 (964,000 in its debut). Eminem is currently tied with Kanye West and Nas for the second-most No. 1 albums among hip-hop acts (they each have six leaders). A new No. 1 would give Eminem the second-place distinction all to himself. Among all hip-hop acts, only Jay Z, with 13 No. 1s, has more. (The all-time champs, among all artists, by the way, are the Beatles, with 19 No. 1s.)

I like Asshole. I mean the song. Skylar sounds better than ever on it and hope they'll release it at least just for her.

Why do you have TES as 7.6 million? In 2011 it passed 10 Million in the US.
and Relapse had almost 2.5 million I thought?

Eminem has done something no artist has done in nearly 50 years.
He has scored four simultaneous hits in Billboard's Hot 100's Top 20 -- all as a lead artist. The last music act to have done that was the Beatles in 1964. Eminem's "Monster" is at No. 3, while "Berzerk," "Survival" and "Rap God" currently rank at 15, 16 and 17, respectively.

I keep really trying to get into the album, but I keep running into problems.
1. The production isn't that great 2. The accents are back...he acknowledged this as a huge negative of Relapse. Why did he do it again? 3. Some of the samples are just ridiculously corny and bad. 4. Whenever he blends in songs from MMLP1, I automatically want to listen to it instead. 5. I don't even know what he's rapping about anymore. It really shows his age, I guess?

After reading all the lyrics along while listening to the album, I've finally been able to come up with my thoughts on this album. a. I don't like it nearly as much as Recovery or The Eminem Show. b. I never really put much thought or consideration to how much thought and consideration Em seemingly puts into every line and detail of his lyrics. Now I wonder to what extent I've missed out on his songs that I thought I already knew. c. The production is probably the weakest aspect of the album and there are quite a few songs on it that I don't particularly care for at all but there are others that slam. It took a bit but Rap God is great. I do quite like Bad Guy. I was hoping to like the Kendrick collaboration more than I do but I think Headlights is the best track on here. d. The strongest point is Em's approach to his own perspective. This album seems like he's tying up all the loose ends so now I'm wondering where he might go from here. Either way, I gave the album 4/5 in my review: www.themaxonline.net/2013/11/09/eminem-the-marshall-mathers-lp-2/

This album is his second best, next to its father. Berzerk is his worst opening single but it works in the context of the album. Survival sounds soooo much better with the beefed-up drums and Monster is really good in full. I didn't like the clip but it's a great song. I like it more than their other collabs. Yeah, my stan for the GOAT rapper is back. Even the corny shit here works. Only Eminem could sell some of these songs. He absolutely nails the bonus tracks, as well. These bonus songs could have all made the actual album and not brought down quality. Desperation is a better country crossover than the one that made the album though. I can't believe Sia got relegated to a bonus track If anything, that is my only issue. This is what we call a comeback. Completely makes his last 2 albums look basic by comparison and the fire in his voice makes his performance in Recovery sound like her was asleep. Sometimes, I find myself just dumbfounded by how sick his flow is on this album. Stellar. No other rapper could do this.

I love this. This is best album since maybe The Eminem Show...maybe even the original Marshall Mathers LP. I did really like Recovery (and even thought that Relapse was decent), but this is so much better than both of them (and miles ahead of Encore. This is right up there with his career-defining early 2000s work. "Headlights" for the next single, or maybe "Rap God"? "Bad Guy" could also work. They have a lot of potential here.

I definitely want Headlights as a single. Though I'm not sure if it would be.

I think "Headlights" will for sure be the next single. I can't see him releasing anything else other than probably "Bad Guy" as future singles.

www.billboard.com/articles/Eminem's 'Marshall Mathers LP 2' Scores Second-Biggest Debut of Year By Keith Caulfield, L.A. | November 12, 2013 It's official: Eminem's new album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with the second-largest sales week of the year. The set, which was released on Tuesday, Nov. 5, sold a bigger-than-expected 792,000 copies in the week ending Nov. 10, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The rest of the new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Justin Timberlake continues to reign with the year's biggest week, when "The 20/20 Experience" bowed at No. 1 with 968,000 back in March. The year's second-largest week had been the arrival of Drake's "Nothing Was the Same," which it debuted with 658,000. "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" ("MMLP2") also logs the sixth-biggest sales week of the past five years. Since November of 2008, the only larger weeks were earned by Taylor Swift's "Red" (2012, 1.2 million its debut), Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" (2011, 1.1 million debut), Swift's "Speak Now" (2010, 1 million debut), Timberlake, and Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" (2011, 964,000 debut). "MMLP2" marks Eminem's seventh No. 1 album -- all consecutive, and all debuts at No. 1. His only album to miss the top slot was his first release, 1999's "The Slim Shady LP." It debuted and peaked at No. 2. Impressively, "MMLP2" posts a larger debut than Eminem's last album, 2010's "Recovery," which started with 741,000. Both albums bowed bigger than his previous set, 2009's "Relapse," which entered with 608,000
