I don't think she has to apologize, but I respect her decision to do that, and I see why she did it.
And Maddie is a prodigy, the age doesn't bother me at all, the way she dances is just captivating!!!

Her performances were phenomenal. My Mother's even been becoming a fan with this era, so proud. :'(
edit:
Also, I believe I was right with this tweet in March that she responded too...I feel partially responsible somehow for this SOTY nom.

LOL. Are you friends with people on the Grammy board, good bro??
Those performances on SNL were FLAWLESS...even more so with Chandelier. Wow @ her belting. I am so glad I saw her in concert before this whole face obscuring thing came about.

I am so glad I saw her in concert before this whole face obscuring thing came about. Speaking of which, I really liked that she at least faced the crowd. At least that way people can't claim she's not really singing. And for the love of God she should just do a west coast tour or SOMETHING. I need to hear this album live.

These performances were excellent. I loved the piano version of "Chandelier" it was gorgeous. I hope we get something big on Chandelier at the Grammys. And an upset win for ROTY/SOTY!

If Chandelier wins (and let's face it, even though Meghan will probably win, yanno, for the Message...), I will legit cry. I have always wanted this for Sia. She is a brave, wonderful songwriter with such a remarkable, unique voice. Those SNL performances were FLAWLESS.

THe SNL performances were a different improvement from the earlier Chandelier performances, IMO, which I found overly gimmicky with the way she chose to obscure her face, to the point that people were actually questioning if she was even singing the tracks live.

When she sings, I feel everything she is trying to convey. I just think her voice is unbelievable.

What I think makes Chandelier the obvious SOTY winner is that it holds up no matter how it's performed. It can be stripped down, dressed up, or done just like the recording, and you still get the full impact of the song as written. The others are strong in their recorded versions, but can't stand on their own if tinkered with.

"Chandelier" is, BY FAR, the deserving choice for Record of the Year and Song of the Year (at least among the given nominees). A pop song about drinking to cover deep pain with intricate melodies, a f**king huge chorus and exceptional vocal performance. It is deeply affecting and despite radio doing their best to ignore it, "Chandelier" made a great impact. Huge streaming success and great critical acclaim. I'm going no-guts-no-glory and predicting it to win both categories over presumed frontrunner, Sam Smith.

I'd love to see this win ROTY, more so than SOTY but any win I would be over the moon about. Rooting for this!!

Since it's a songwriter's award, I believe SOTY winners should always be the lyrically strongest song in the category and this year, that's Chandelier hands down. Take Me to Church would be the closest rival to me but Sia is much more deserving.

SOTY should also reflect melody since it's written music & lyrics. But still, it goes to "Chandelier"

im rooting for her to pull an upset. i hope she will win hopefully 1 of the general category, if not both. a sam smith's night would be so boring i think. seeing sia walking up to the stage to get her grammy with a plastic bag over her head would be so epic.

I think the fact that she has a performance slot is a good sign that she may have won one of her categories. Also, a bar I was at was STANNING for her last night:

Does anyone else despise this remain hidden act. It drives me absolutely crazy and makes her performances dull. Is she even actually singing during them...?

I like it. It's different and inventive. I'd like to see her come up with other ways to hide though. I also would like to see more attention being drawn to her reasons for hiding, which I assume are still linked to her actual phobia rather than it being just the thing she's doing while promoting this album. It's like her version of Daft Punk only instead of the masks, she hides.
Sia is awesome.

I thought the performance last night was kind of a let down. I enjoyed it, but her vocal seemed less empassioned than usual, and I half expected her to turn around and reveal her face which obv didn't happen.

The vocal mixing was WAY off last night for almost everyone, and made them sound like they were singing through tin cans tied by string. Hozier's was another one that stood out, but it became obvious that performance was mixed for Annie's mic.
EDIT: Even though she was robbed in the most disappointing overhype wins in years, her album is currently slaying at #7 on iTunes.

I think seeing/hearing the performances of the songs right next to each other really highlighted the differences between the nominated songs.

Album is sale-priced at $5.99 on iTunes ($7.99 on Amazon/Google Play right now). Good move.
