Perfect choice! Been hoping for this to get released eventually. Here's to hoping radio lets his top 20 streak to keep going.

Very pleased this is the new single. It was far and away my favorite on the album, and should make for a solid third single.

I like this one too! Nice to see him with a string of hits, even if they aren't smash hits.

I'm so happy they picked this and I'm hoping he can continue his little comeback. I don't know if they're going to plan on a 4th single but "Thank God She Left The Whiskey" would be an awesome single too.

Great song. Chris Cagle is awesome. I think this one has a lot of potential.

Great choice, should pick up a lot of steam as wedding season picks up in the spring/summer. Also, I agree with the poster above that Thank God She Left the Whiskey would be a solid 4th single. That has hit written all over it.

Oh my goodness!! Ahh Brett and Brad Warren co-wrote this!? That makes me so happy. This song is beautiful and it makes it even more appealing that it was written by both Chris (he's absolutely amazing) and the incredibly underrated Warren Brothers. Hoping for this to be a success

I think this is pretty much the strongest song on there and I like Chris Cagle, but I really think this album suffers from being underproduced a bit...
...it just seems a little sparse to me - like it needs a couple more layers of overdubs or something. Keith Stegall produced it kind if made it sparse like an Alan Jackson album but Cagle is an altogether different artist who really needs a few more chops in the production...
Anyone else hear the album and think this?

^ I thought the production was just fine. I think both GMCO and LTBC were strengthened by not being too aggressive. This from someone who likes some rock in his country.
And really, nearly anything's a step up from Scott Hendricks doing the last album. I also find it odd that his previous producer, Jon Robbin, seems to have NO other credits. Just like Ted Hewitt for Rodney Atkins.

That's an interesting point about Cagle's previous (and longtime) producer...though I think he was called Robert Wright?
He didn't have a single credit elsewhere as far as I know, as with Ted Hewitt who you mention....also while we're on the subject, who produced Thompson Square's album?

^ You're right, it was Robert Wright. Jon Robbin wrote some of the songs, and I don't think he has any other credits outside Chris Cagle albums. However, Chris Lindsey produced "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out", and Lindsey has a few other production credits, even though he's mainly a songwriter.
Both of T2's albums are produced by Jason Aldean's road band under the name "New Voice Entertainment". None of them have any outside production credits.

Robert Wright was Cagle's manager. He broke that contract, signed with another manager, who then got sued by Wright and later Cagle changed mgr's again.
NV produced James Wesley's last single and is producing other BBR artists, including Parmalee.

Do you know if this is the same guy who co-produced the acoustic version of "Everything's Changed" on Lonestar's Lonely Grill album? I noticed Sam Ramage and Bob Wright produced that particular song.

This is very nice, just heard it now on a radio poll. Not a big Cagle fan, but this is probably my favorite out of his recent singles.

I really think this could be an underdog hit and surprise people. I know the album hasn't sold much, and usually I use that to support an argument that the single won't do much. But with Chris on Bigger Picture, the label is really gonna focus on this. And if it catches on...I think it can REALLY catch on. I've always been just a casual fan so I never heard the album, other than the first 2 singles when they came out, and I'm just stunned that they didn't go with this as the 2nd single.
This song is a masterpiece. We need more modern country music like this on the radio. I'm hoping that this catches on and becomes a big seller and a top 10 hit. I realize that Cagle hasn't been to the top 10 in many, many years...and maybe he never will get there again. I just can't help but feel like if this had come first or second, it would've been a top 10 smash.

"Dance Baby Dance" is a really beautiful song. I do have the album, "Back In The Saddle" and am well pleased with most of the music on there. I would love to see "Thank God She Left the Whiskey" released as a single.

I noticed that this has dropped out of the Mediabase top 50 after struggling at the bottom for a few weeks. My local station has been playing it often, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere on the chart. Any chance that this climbs much higher? It's sad that they didn't release "Dance" as the first or second single, because it's simply a gem. Wish there were more songs like this getting airplay.

It just got pushed out because of the new quick-risers: Kenny, Jason, Toby, plus Dierks and Cassadee are in the top 50 and naturally they're gonna go up faster than this as well. I would love to see a slow, steady rise into the top 20 like his last 2 singles had but realistically, I think it'll be tough just to get to the top 40. I'm hopeful that it can do that and much more, though.

This song had a bullet 2 weeks ago, but lost that bullet on last week's chart, and now it's gone from the top 60, so it must've fallen all the way off from #46 after 14 weeks and a peak of #44. Such a shame. This song is a great traditional country song, but Cagle is not a big enough star and Bigger Picture isn't a big enough label to get this type of song up the chart.
I'm looking forward to the day when an A-list country artist (as in, someone who currently gets a LOT of airplay) decides to get "risky" and actually releases a really traditionally-sounding song again, or even a full album. I can't see Aldean, Shelton, or Bryan doing it...Eric Church has been making some great music but I think he'll keep a rock edge to his country. I'd love for a really traditional album from Carrie, though, but I don't know if any of the top males would make an album like that. Kenny maybe? Keith has never had much of a traditional sound (but I love him), and Tim's music sounds pretty modern too.

Should be a #1, but it couldn't even make the top 40. Very sad.

It's a shame this one failed, but I'm not too surprised. Even if this wasn't more "traditional" sonically, he still had two Top 20 hits, which was much more than I expected out of someone like Chris Cagle, so it makes sense that this peaked much lower.
As for traditional-leaning country music from A-listers, I'm all for it as well. Sadly, the only ones who seem the most intent on doing that are the ladies of country, and we all know they receive far less attention as a whole. Still, Carrie and Miranda have recorded and released plenty of traditional fare, though their most recent eras obviously have had a little more experimental sounds to them (Carrie's leaning rock/pop, Miranda's leaning more rock/alternative country). I've got much less hope for traditional country fare to come out of the A-list males (Aldean, Bryan, and Shelton), especially seeing how adamant they are about settling into the grooves of their last albums and just churning out the same ol', same ol'.

It's pretty disheartening to say that I never heard even a few seconds of this on the radio; what a huge bummer. I guess two top 20 frat-boy lite singles didn't do much of anything for him. It's sad because I definitely prefer this to his previous two singles. Maybe the lyrics were too complicated to PDs to understand? Today's top artists releasing traditional country fare that recalls the 90s and maybe mid to late 80s would be a dream come true, but I'm not expecting it to happen any time soon given that radio is oh-so-willing to play party country from y'all know whom ;) I'll continue this post in the Non-Singles thread here.

I don't understand why this wasn't at least the 2nd single...
