Any idea who are the songwriters? Ashley Gorley and Rodney Clawson, based on this BMI listing.Ishallnotprejudgeasongbyartisthistorysongwriterhistoryandtitle Ishallnotprejudgeasongbyartisthistorysongwriterhistoryandtitle Ishallnotprejudgeasongbyartisthistorysongwriterhistoryandtitle Ishallnotprejudgeasongbyartisthistorysongwriterhistoryandtitle

Judged before I even got to Dudley's post...What happened to "Dirt Road Diary"? I don't follow Luke very closely, but I thought that was surely going to lead this era off.

I think it's safe to say after all the horrendous songs we've had the past year that " There's been an awful murder, down on music row".George predicted it years ago :(

I instantly thought of Karmin when I saw the title. Interested to hear this, Luke has always been a guilty pleasure of mine and I actually enjoyed all his singles from T&T

I instantly thought of Karmin when I saw the title. Knowing Luke Bryan, it's a hot Karmin remake. :o Just kidding, but it probably would've been for the best if it was.

I love Luke, his songs, and his voice. This one sounds decent, but it doesn't stand out to me. It will probably end up growing on me. I'm pretty sure this will do very well for him though. He's really big right now and is currently a favorite at radio.

The single cover is doing absolutely nothing for Luke, who, in my opinion tends to be one of the better looking dudes in country music.
As for the song, I will reserve judgment until I hear it on the ACMs - and the subsequent studio version. Also, what Dudley said.

Quality country-pop song that's perfect as the lead-off single. Thanks for the YT clip.
With Jason and Blake venturing into this country-rap nonsense, they're leaving the door wide open for Luke to potentially snatch the title of #1 male country artist.

Quality country-pop song that's perfect as the lead-off single. Thanks for the YT clip. With Jason and Blake venturing into this country-rap nonsense, they're leaving the door wide open for Luke to potentially snatch the title of #1 male country artist. Jason and Blake's country-rap singles are one-song detours for albums full of midtempo songs aimed to please the middle-aged men who program country radio and believe that women 25-45 are most interested in sensitive adult contemporary pop love songs from the format's males. In fact, Blake led off his current album with such a single. Besides, there is absolutely no guarantee that Luke will eschew country-rap on his album. In any event, I fully expect 2013 to be the year that Luke Bryan becomes the top country male when it comes to album and single sales. With his Spring Break: Here To Party having mustered 150K in first week sales without a single to radio and only two original songs, Luke is set to join Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney and George Strait as the only country artists to score more than one Billboard 200 chart-topping album in a single year since the beginning of the Soundscan era, as long as he picks the right release week for his album (and he may not need to). Tailgates & Tanlines continues to hover around the #10 mark on the Billboard Country Albums chart and will hit the two million mark (which is probably as high as an album that has saturated the country market without crossing over can get) within three or four months. And he has managed this without much support from industry awards (note that Tailgates & Tanlines has more than doubled Red River Blue's sales despite the CMA and ACM focus on Blake Shelton). Moreover, the singles from Tailgates & Tanlines were all strong to very strong sellers in their own right -- I think Luke has two double platinum singles from the album ("Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" and "Drunk on You"), with another single closing in on that mark ("I Don't Want This Night to End"), and another single at the 800K mark ("Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye"). Luke has released nothing that I would consider better than OK from a song quality standpoint, but I don't think there can be any denying his ability to generate hits that behave and sell like hits at the moment. I also concede his ability to sell his songs live better than the other males who have taken over as the new generation of dominant forces at radio. The live performance video of "Crash My Party" makes it a little difficult to get a read on the song, but it appears to have several strong melodic hooks and the signature adult contemporary pop stylings that have served Luke well on country radio so far. As long as the production doesn't interfere with his natural charm, there is no reason to think the song won't continue Luke's string of big hits with middle-of-the-road but melodically appealing songs. Incidentally, kml567, you posted here that Luke had indicated that the single would be out on 1 April, but now claim that the song will be released to iTunes and radio directly after Luke's ACM debut of the song. Neither post of yours cites a source (apart from the Amazon release date, which doesn't tell us about the radio release date), so could you please provide one for one or both claims? Thanks.

^No need to tell us that you're going to check the song out. If you haven't listened to it, simply do so and then come back when you have something constructive to say.

The live clip didn't sound too bad. Let's see how he does performing this at the ACM's. Hopefully the studio version is good.

Yeah, I also don't think this'll be too bad at all. The YouTube clip sounds kinda promising, so I'm hoping for the best when the studio clip comes out
And...of course it'll be better than CG and BRH. I mean, why wouldn't it? ;)

The song starts off as a piano ballad, so it sounds like he's going for a "Do I" type of lead single.
