I wasn't exactly sure where to put this, and maybe there is a already a thread for this, but anyway this is for Artist's who managed to get past the one hit wonder make and than got stuck as two hit wonders.
I open this because, I've been looking up one hit wonders of the past 10 years or so to find songs I missed, but rather like. Unfortunately finding two hit wonders isn't as easy. To count both songs have to have gone top 40 on the hot 100, and their cant be a third song by the artist to go top 40. I would appreciate if you guys could post some (especially for my target which is perhaps the last 10 years, but not rappers).
Some I thought of: Hinder: Lips of An Angel - 3 Better Than Me - 31
Finger Eleven: One Thing - 16 Paralyzer - 6
Vertical Horizon: Everything You Want - 1 You're A God - 23
Lfo: Summer Girls - 3 Girl on Tv - 10
O-Town: Liquid Dreams - 10 All or Nothing - 3
Katharine Mcphee: Over It - 29 Somewhere Over The Rainbow - 12
David Archuleta: Crush - 2 Imagine - 36
Dido: Thank You - 3 White Flag - 18
Ruben Studdard: Flying Without Wings - 2 Sorry 2004 - 9
Cobra Starship: Good Girls Go Bad - 7 You Make Me Feel So - 7
Danity Kane: Showstopper - 8 Damaged - 10
Jazmine Sullivan: Bust Your Windows - 31 Need U Bad - 37
Jeremih: Down On Me - 4 Birthday Sex - 4
Kevin Rudolf: Let It Rock - 5 I Made It - 21
My Chemical Romance: Helena - 33 Welcome to the Black Parade - 9
Neon Trees: Animal - 13 Everybody Talks - 6
Owl City: Fireflies - 1 Good Time - 8
Sara Bareilles: Love Song - 4 King of Anything - 32
Shontelle: T-Shirt - 36 Impossible - 13
Simple Plan: Perfect - 24 Welcome to My life - 40
Staind: It's Been a While - 5 So Far Away - 24
Switchfoot: Meant to Live - 18 Dare You to Move - 17
Vanessa Carlton: A Thousand Miles - 5 Ordinary Day - 30
This is all I have. If this thread doesn't belong hear I apologize.

Whether this thread belongs here or not is left to the powers in charge.
One comment on the question:
'Two-hit wonders' appears just as subjective as 'one-hit wonder' based on prior discussions when this has come up.
Questions that should be answered:
-what is a hit? If it is top 40, then why isn't #41 a hit? What chart position should be the cutoff?
-How much time should pass before labeling an artist or band as a 1 or 2 hit wonder? 1 year? 5 years? Perception based on one's own take of the quality of the current hit? (There has been many a thread that has labeled an artist as a 1-hit wonder while they were at #1) -What if an artist has 1 or 2 hits in the US and 20 hits in Britain? -What if an artist has 1 or 2 hits on the Hot 100 and 20 hits on the country chart? Should we even use the Hot 100?
Are artists such as Garth Brooks considered 1-hit wonders because he techincally had only one single?

going by pnobelysk's original criteria of only two Top 40 hits on the Hot 100, I'll add the following:
Cascada: Everytime We Touch - 10 Evacuate the Dancefloor - 25
Daniel Bedingfield: Gotta Get Thru This - 10 If You're Not The One - 15
Dream: He Loves U Not - 2 This Is Me - 39
Edwin McCain: I'll Be - 5 I Could Not Ask For More - 37
Jack Johnson Upside Down - 38 You And Your Heart - 20
John Legend: Ordinary People - 24 Green Light - 24
KT Tunstall: Black Horse And The Cherry Tree - 20 Suddenly I See - 21
Robyn: Do You Know (What It Takes) - 7 Show Me Love - 7
Ryan Cabrera: On The Way Down - 15 True - 18

Dido's more like a three hit wonder: "Here With Me" was the definition of a sleeper hit that never took off other than Hot AC and VH1.

you being serious or just looking to get a reaction from her fans? ;) honestly, I think it's a bit soon to add her to the list since she's still in the process of promoting her first album in the US (which was released less than a year ago). I was thinking of adding Jessie J to my list, but I left her off for the same reason - too soon to tell. granted, this is pnobelysk's thread, so I guess it's up to him who should or shouldn't count.

Too answer some questions
1. Top 40 on the hot 100 is what I'm looking for. I know that doesn't fully make a song a hit or not but its a good start . Also Wikipedia has its own section for one hit wonders in the US where each song made the top 40 but the artist never had another top 40 appearance 2. I would say its quite logical to say Carly and Jessie j are way too early in their careers to be classified as two hit wonders . While there's an outside chance some of te previous artists I and others listed get another hit , it isn't likely. Sure owl city and cobra starship have a chance . But it isn't something people would likely place money on. I would just say use logic . Carly had a top 40 not even over a year ago so she's was too fresh to assume she won't ever get a hit again

I think Carly Rae Jepsen and Jessie J are along the lines of Neon Trees and Owl City, which are in the OP.

Completely forgot about features, though imo one small #33 peaking feature wouldn't take away their 2 hit wonder status.

Top 40 only is way too harsh, Hot 100 would be much better.
Also, in my books, having a successful album career (John Legend, Jack Johnson etc) indicates that an artist is not a one or two hit wonder by any means.
Interesting topic, anyway.
(Dido was also featured on Eminem's Stan, btw)

To follow your criteria of two top 40 hits on the Hot 100, here are some more, mostly from the 90's. (Chart peaks from Wikipedia since I don't have a better source, so it's possible that I'm wrong.)

Oh, I forgot to check features. So that one's off. I think the rest of my list should be okay though. Edit: How about....they are on the list until proven otherwise. Lisa Loeb Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam That would mean including many artists that are obviously going to get more hits, such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Also; Lisa Loeb: "Stay (I Missed You)" (#1), "Do You Sleep" (#18), "I Do" (#17) Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam: "I Wonder If I Take You Home" (#34), "All Cried Out" (#8), "Head To Toe" (#1), "Lost In Emotion" (#1), "Little Jackie Wants To Be A Star" (#29), "Let The Beat Hit 'Em" (#37) Was that meant to be sarcasm? ???

I heard the first 4 of them. Don't recognize the last two by name. It must be remembered the Fergie interpolated the first of those. I'm familiar with the crappy and now-dated Allure cover of "ACO" which was a hit when I was first listening to radio.
At the risk of sounding old, was the "Tom's Diner" that made the top 10 the DNA remix? that would make more sense.

Allure: "Head Over Heels" (#35), "All Cried Out" (#4) Az Yet: "Last Night" (#9), "Hard To Say I'm Sorry" (#8) Blaque: "808" (#8), "Bring It All To Me" (#5) Shout out to these six flawless hits. Odd seeing certain acts like Counting Crows and John Legend on this list. Just another example of how inaccurate the charts can be at times.
