Tried to compare my formula with the Billboard Songs Of The Summer and with the exception of "Radioactive" - "Get Lucky" the numbers I got seem right. It seems like I either weight #2 too much (170 points) or underweight #3 (150 points). Songs of the Summer Rank | Title | Artist | Points | Difference | #1 | Blurred Lines | Robin Thicke feat. Blurred lines is a way bigger hit than radioactive This is a rolling chart that still doesn't weight the huge #1s like BL enough. Plus "Radioactive" will be charting for the whole 53 weeks of the chart year, meanwhile "Blurred Lines" is at 29 weeks, will be at 31. Of course "Blurred Lines" will be the #1 song of the year, because the Hot 100 Y.E. is made by adding up every song's total airplay + sales + ?streaming? it got during its chart run. The weak point here is the streaming: we don't know how will Billboard deal with the mid-year rule change. 1. Get the Youtube streaming numbers before March 1 and include the streaming component. 2. Include on-demand streams only, the component they left out from last year's Y.E. Hot 100 chart. 3. Use airplay + sales only. Highly unlikely.

There's no way songs like Lights, Some Nights, The Motto, etc. would've been so high if they did. Last year, it looks like in the weeks pre-streaming, they only counted their airplay+sales points, and in the week after streaming was added they counted the streaming points too. So they'll probably do the same this year with Youtube (i.e. the year-end chart will include Youtube points from the week where Harlem Shake debuted at #1-onawards, but not from before).

"Harlem Shake" won't finish that high. It'll finish somewhere from 11-20. if any song has a chance of sneaking into the year end Top 10, it'd be "Royals", since it's been #1 for 6 weeks, and doesn't look like it's going to let up, plus is been selling, and playing on the radio like crazy, but we'll see.

HS's biggest weeks > Royals' biggest weeks. :) "Royals" won't be top ten on the year-end chart anyway, "One More Night" was a 9-week-#1 but ended up at #18.

When I didn't understand the charts very well I was so confused as to why Boom Boom Pow was #1 over I Gotta Feeling #4, then I realized that weeks on the chart counted and it started to make sense. Royals will probably finish around #20-25 and will be in the high 40s/low 50s for next year I'd think, just as Dynamite, Just a Dream, I Gotta Feeling, Party Rock Anthem, etc, did because it's chart run will be split between both chart years, although PRA is a special exception as it started to chart in....March? and lasted til the next summer.

Royals won't finish any lower than the top 20, especially if its #1 for the 2 remaining weeks in the chart year. It might even sneak into the top 15.

"Harlem Shake" still won't make the top 10. I would be very surprised if it did. Since 1992, no song that has charted for just 20 weeks has ever made the top 10 in the year end charts.

Look at my last chart update and you'll see "Royals" at #20. Go back to bottom of the last page and you'll see that I predicted it to finish at around #14. It just won't got top ten on the BB Y.E. Hot 100 and I gave a pretty good example from last year. I give up. :)

"Harlem Shake" still won't make the top 10. I would be very surprised if it did. Since 1992, no song that has charted for just 20 weeks has ever made the top 10 in the year end charts. "Candle In The Wind/Something About The Way You Look Tonight" was the #1 song of 1997 after just 10 weeks of charting and was #8 on the next year's Y.E. Hot 100. 1997 is after 1992 and "Harlem Shake" also had two enormous weeks so a top 10 is more than possible. #1 is really out of question since both TS and BL were monstrous hits and had longevity as well.

Top 100, which songs could get in from what you're seeing below the top 100?

Top 100, which songs could get in from what you're seeing below the top 100? "The Fox" and "Still Into You"will get there. They just need a couple of points they'll get next week. Then "Brave" can also do it if it doesn't fall off next week.

Did Mariah/Miguel's #Beautiful made it to the top 100 of your list? Do you think it could reach the top 100 of the real list? Thanks :)
