I definitely want "Easier to Lie" as the next single. It's kind of a risky subject matter, but if "Stay" worked on country radio, why can't this? It's one of the songs practically begging to be released.

I haven't listened to the album enough to really judge what songs I think should and shouldn't be singles, but I know that "11" is a fantastic song and one of the few that's stuck with me. I'm not sure if that'd be the best follow-up to this necessarily, but it should definitely be a single at some point.

I think this should at least go top 10, but it'll probably be too polarizing to make it all the way to #1. My estimate would be approximately #5. I'm not sure if Cassadee would ever be a big contender for any awards because her music definitely sounds really pop-ish to me. It's the same reason why I don't think Kelly Clarkson or Lauren Alaina could ever win any awards...there might be some skepticism to fully accept them as country artists. As for the next single, I definitely want "11" and I do think that such a song would at least reach the top 20, but any more than that would be icing on the cake because it's so hard for a new female artist to obtain a higher peak position for a second single than the first single.

I understand your reasoning behind Kelly Clarkson (she is a pop star) and Cassadee Pope (her vocals sound similar to pop stars like Avril Lavigne), but how does Lauren Alaina fit into that equation? Have you heard her debut album? About half of it falls into that category of "too country" for country radio, so I'm not sure why you seem to think that the country industry doesn't buy her as a country artist. I also disagree that this girl not sounding like a typical country female will inhibit her ability to get a single to the top of the charts or win any awards in this day and age. Florida Georgia Line are huge and they won multiple CMA Awards this year, and standard-bearers for country music they ain't. I agree with the last part though. I would love "11" as a single, but the dwindling momentum of new female artist's eras even after a successful first single is quite unfortunate.

I think this has a great shot at going top 10 or maybe even top 5. I personally love this song and would love to see it go all the way to #1, but that's probably unlikely just because she's a new female artist and not that this has had a slow chart run, but it hasn't been very fast either.
For second single, "11" is the best song on the album, so I am hoping for that. I also love "Champagne", "This Car", and "I Wish I Could Break Your Heart" though. So I would take any of those as well. I would actually be fine with any song on the album being a single except "Everybody Sings". "Frame By Frame" is one of my favorite albums of the year, so I would love to see Cassadee score a couple hits off of it.

I was just going by Lauren Alaina's recent single, "Barefoot and Buckwild," but, you're right, her last album was much more country than the lead single off her next album. I haven't heard the full debut CD, but I've heard the singles and the tracks "She's a Wildflower" and "Dirt Road Prayer." I just think that the reason radio didn't open up to Buckwild even enough for it to reach the top 50 is because it sounded like such a pop song.

^Oh, I'm not at all criticizng Lauren's talents. All I'm saying is that I think radio and the CMA voters may be harder on females if they don't seem to stick to country sounds. I'm still not sure whether I think that being on a reality television series helps or hinders an artist's radio success, though. Scotty and Lauren are both talented and haven't yet gotten a big hit on the charts, but, then again, they're both young. Carrie Underwood is obviously a case of a reality TV star who launched a terrific career, but she's extraordinarily talented. We'll see how radio reacts to Cassadee and Danielle in the long run.

I think if she releases the undoubtedly country "11", which is a country song with a great story she has a shot. I hope Barefoot and Buckwild doesnt kill any shot Lauren has of Same Day Different Bottle being a hit single. That song needs to be heard.

I see it going at least Top 5, but not all the way to #1 based on her current chart run. 11 and I Wish Could Break Your Heart (which she will perform on The Voice this Tuesday) are the only two songs I like other than WATT on the album so I hope they will be the singles.
I watched a video of her performing with Travis Tritt, and it seemed off. I don't think their voices fit for a good duet. I was disappointed with the performance.

I remember this young woman from her Hey Monday days; pretty sad that they never broke through because I really enjoyed their material.
On a more positive note, I've been hearing this quite a bit the past few weeks and am really digging it. I've been thinking about checking her album out since I've been reading great things about it and my curiosity about her approach to country music. I should be able to soon since this semester is finally starting to wind down (only have a concert and three major finals this upcoming week).

This blog says her next single is "I Wish I Could Break Your Heart”. Since I'm not sure that blog is reliable source I'm not going to open the topic, but I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true.

Since I'm not sure that blog is reliable source I'm not going to open the topic, but I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true. It says it's impacting radio December 10. That makes no sense, as 1) it's a Tuesday and 2) "Wasting All These Tears" isn't finished yet. I don't know if the article is now edited or something but it says the song will impact radio on January 6th, but will be performed on The Voice on December 10. Either way, I don't think she should release a new single that soon, but it is indeed reported on a lot of articles that she will be performing I Wish I Could Break Your Heart on The Voice. She already performed WATT in there last June (Season 4).

Why did Cassadee say she has her first top 10? This is #11 on both charts this week.

She was #10 on BILLBOARD Country Indicator, so she must have been proud of that.

What does Cassadee Pope have to do to get Wasting All These Tears into the top ten? She has been at #12 or #11 for months!

If she can hold of Jason Aldean this week, she should make it on both charts.

What does Cassadee Pope have to do to get Wasting All These Tears into the top ten? She has been at #12 or #11 for months! She's finally #10 on Mediabase. The top 10 has been pretty much entirely gridlocked for the past several weeks with the two-week chart shutdown and no record label willing to give in and stop promoting their single. It even looks as though "Drunk Last Night" is still being promoted this week even though there's just about no way I see it going to #1 on Mediabase. Actually, I don't even know if the top 10 is going to get any less congested in the next few weeks. "Stay" is still doing just fine after three weeks at #1 and even "Radio" has made a full recovery. Paslay, Swindell, Nail, and Bryan are in insanely close competition right now and I expect all four of those to try to reach #1. ZBB and TBP even look like they can manage at least two more bullets despite low sales. Even though Cassadee should get into the top 10 this Sunday (on Mediabase, at least, although it looks like Aldean could pass her on Billboard by Monday), I don't think she will be moving up quickly from there.

There's no such thing as a 'two-week' chart shutdown at Mediabase; PDs and MDs are always adding and deleting tunes from their respective playlists, and while songs by superstars and or very strong singles routinely move up the charts during the three week span between the final edition of the evening edition of Country Aircheck of the year and the first evening edition of the new year, keep in mind that Mediabase NEVER sleeps!!!
Tunes from the likes of Randy Houser, Jason Aldean, Gary Allan, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Kacey Musgraves, Thompson Square and others gained anywhere from 300-950+ spins (Gary Allan's 'Every Storm....) over those three weeks a year ago, and that's been the case throughout the history of Mediabase.
Not releasing a tune in late November or December and electing to hold off releasing it until January can result in disaster; Josh Turner's label cost him the #1 single of 2012 by doing just that with 'Time Is Love' by announcing in early December 2011 ads in both Country Aircheck & BCU that 'TIL' would go for adds on Jan. 9th, 2012, which as it turns out enabled 'Springsteen' to finish #1 for the year @ Mediabase by less than 600 spins, the second closest race for #1 of the past 15 years.
Congratulations to Ms. Pope for reaching the top ten at long last, although I don't know how much higher she can get with Jason Aldean & Lady Antebellum in hot pursuit.

She just needs to wait one more week for her turn to be Big Machine's #1 priority. EYB and FGL are done, and TBP's final push week is likely this week.

^Agreed. It's important to keep in mind that Republic has had all four of their artists in the top 15 for the past month or so. However, I am still doubtful this will go too much higher up the charts. Even if it does, this single hasn't grown exponentially like most new artists' songs. This is more similar to Scotty McCreery's first single (but not nearly as fast a riser). I'm not too sure Cassadee will become a consistent hitmaker. I hope her next single is "Eleven," but I'm really not even sure that song will do as much on the charts as this one has.

^ I think this is about done as well; hope it got to top 10 this week on both charts.
For next single, I think she has to go something that is more upbeat, because if she sends it now it will be top 20 once summer rolls around and that could take it to new heights. I would go either I Wish I Could Break Your Heart, Good Times or Champagne. But it is a really great album and she can't really go wrong in my eyes

Would love to see this go all the way (she'd be the first female to do it since Carrie Underwood with JTTW, I believe), even though the odds don't seem terribly likely for that to happen. Impressed with how well it has done though, and I hope she's able to survive the steep second/third single success drop-off that most new females get at country radio today, such as Jana Kramer and Kacey Musgraves.

She's got a pretty big following on social media, and her album sales and single sales have been pretty good as well. I haven't checked out the album myself, though. I don't mind this song, but it's just a bit too poppy for my tastes. She seems like a very nice girl, though, and she certainly has a good set of pipes (even if she doesn't sound very 'country'). And, of course, we need more females scoring consistent radio hits...
