Yeah, I Want It That Way not being a #1 hit is insanity. But it was a great strategy because they knew the kids would just buy the singles. Instead, they were shelling out big bucks for the CD. I remember one of the record stores in Chicago was selling it for 19.95! (Same with all the big artists - primary reason why filesharing began.)

This is a very nice laid back song with sweet lyrics. Hope it gets good airplay. And it's #84 on iTunes now.

How did "Straight Through My Heart (Soldier Down)" do on pop and Hot100?

^From just looking at the updates in the old thread, STMH peaked at #49 on CHR/Pop. I don't think it charted on the Hot 100.

This is a very nice laid back song with sweet lyrics. I like it. It sounds like something Adult Contemporary would have played the hell out of in the 90s. With some of the recent AC-ish sounding tracks like "Just Give Me A Reason" doing so well, I could see this performing okay.

Loved it. Funny, AND they sounded great, AND a wonderful way to hit home just how many hits they've had over the years. Fucking awesome.

The song sounds a bit bland on first listen, but maybe it'll grow on me. It's strange how they keep trying to put out albums in the 2000's moreso than the other former boy bands. Maybe it's because none of their solo careers took off.

The other boy bands aren't really big enough to really make stuff anymore . Like backstreet boys still have somewhat of a following . The others don't besides maybe new kids

So desperate. The lyric video is like an ode to their past....with numbers screeching 2000....2001....1999...2002...
Well hello, it's 2013. Sorry. It's over. Plus there is absolutely no hook.

With N Sync, aside from Justin, JC Chasez was the only one to really try a serious solo career which was moderately successful while the others went on to try other things like acting, being media celebrities. I don't really think they would have lasted much longer or been that successful as a group had they continued. They disbanded at the right time. Only a couple of the boybands from that era managed to kind of keep it together in some fashion like UK's Blue which recently started up again and 98 Degrees also re-formed. All those other ones like Lyte Funky Ones, 5ive, EYC, etc. have not done anything of note together since their heyday. Joey McIntyre and Jordan Knight were the only 2 New Kids members to really try a solo career and they both did fairly well for a time, unfortunately it wasn't very long lasting, though Joey managed to go into theater and do other stuff. And of course Donnie is doing TV and movies now. NKOTB managed to tour pretty successfully in recent years, along with the joint tour with BSB.
