Well if this is true I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on "I Got a Car." It's a surefire hit and will do great at radio. Roll up them sleeves. George's official site has changed the intro song from I Believe to I Got A Car. I'll take that as a darn good sign its the next single.

Since he's nominated for EotY, I imagine they were pushed to get a new song out since he'll probably have to perform on the show (at least I think these nominees usually perform). Having a 10 week old song that stalled in the 50s, or an even older song people were sick of probably isn't the best way to sell singles or albums for MCA.
When I first learned George received the nomination I kind of chuckled to myself because there were so many years in the late 90s where I really cared and hoped he would win EotY. The thought of him winning it now is pretty far out there, but I'm kind of talking myself into it. The traditional/frat boy coverage is probably only going to help George here, especially if voters want to throw a vote towards the traditionalist for the big award. MCA only really pushing George to receive one nomination probably helps as well since I'm sure voters may say "well I already voted Blake/Taylor/Aldean for other stuff, let's throw one to George with his last tour going on". I still don't think he'll win, but like I said, I'm talking myself into it a bit so who knows.

I like to think he's gonna win this time just because it's his last tour...they want to send him off with one more big award and rightfully so...I've seen some videos from the concerts on YouTube and the roars from the crowds are deafening

How great would it be to award such a great artist such as George.

I've been anxiously awaiting to open the Country Aircheck or Billboard Country Weekly Updates for the past two weeks thinking for sure there'd be an add date for a new George Strait single. Yet, here we are. October 1st. Nothing. This is a great album which is now becoming a waste of a release if MCA sits idly by without releasing some of its greatness to radio.
What is MCA doing?

"What is MCA doing?"
Perhaps they're taking a break?? They say absence makes the heart grow fonder; maybe they're waiting until the end of this month to release IGAC, which will also coincide with George performing the song at the CMA Awards.

Let's hope it's only a short break, I can't wait for another single. There are so many good options including IGAC.

I'll bet they're waiting til November to release "When The Credits Roll" after his performance on CMA Awards. Like I said when he got the EOTY nomination, He's a likely front runner and will very likely perform on the program so that's what they're waiting for with "Credits" the most 'logical' choice given the CMA and his end of the touring career. But he could release "I Got A Car" too from the very same performance slot. It's just not as CMA-ready as "Credits" is.

Except that it was already reported on this very thread that the George had indicated the next single would be IGAC. He and MCA can always change their minds, especially when nothing has been sent to radio yet. We just have to hang tight and wait until there's official news.

Hmm...well I am not quite sure how I feel about "When the Credits Roll" as the next single. Yes, it without a doubt would make sense as a career encompassing performing song proceeding George possibly winning Entertainer of the Year. Even as a longtime George fan I'm not going to give him the edge here. I still think Blake has it. Again, this should have nothing to do with the next single. MCA shouldn't be waiting for George's next award show performance to release a new single. As a fan, I love the song "I Believe." I bought it as soon as it was released as a b-side type song on itunes. However, it shouldn't have been a single, especially in the heat of the summer months. Nothing's official yet, even though early word is "I Got A Car" will be the next single. I thought it should have been the second, followed by "That's What Breaking Hearts Do," followed by something like "I Believe." Anyways, I'm missing new George music on the radio and would rather MCA release something now prior to the CMA's. Oh, one more observation: as was previously mentioned, George's timing of his tour dates with the CMA nominations without a doubt could not have been a coincidence. When I saw the headlines for "King George sales out the Staples Center in L.A. in 9 minutes" I saw red...Erv, MCA, and the rest of the team are doing a great job of strategically working out George's likely win as Entertainer of the Year.

I'm confused. You saw red? You were upset or happy?

I'm confused. You saw red? You were upset or happy? It was just a tongue in cheek comment. George's team has been in overdrive with the 60 for 60 campaign for "Give It All We Got Tonight" as well as the stunning behind the scenes work to get an Entertainer of the Year nod at the CMA's. Not sure what they might be doing to get him a win, but all the recent tour sell-out articles can't be a coincidence. The CMA members are about to start voting soon and if I'm correct almost all of George's tour dates will have been sold out prior to the last day of voting for the members. Kudos team Strait! Now, still waiting on MCA to get us fans another single anytime...been rather quiet on that front.

"I Got A Car" could very well be the single. But I still think it'd be a lost opportunity to not drop "When The Credits Roll" as the single. So until I hear otherwise, I'll just assume my gut and marketing instincts are right here and that they're holding off on the single until announcing/playing it at the CMA Awards.

The only thing I can think of at this point is that MCA is holding off on releasing a single until after the CMA's and further into next years tour as it will provide George at least two new singles to put out there during that time. This will provide both George and MCA some momentum going into 2014 as I believe it unlikely he will release a new studio album next year. If anything I wouldn't be surprised to see a live compilation ("The Cowboys Rides Away Live Album") covering songs from the 2013 and 2014 setlist. Still, it's been a rather disappointing summer and fall considering for the most part I've heard nothing new from George on the radio ("I Believe" was nowhere to be heard) since GIAWGT was released back on (gulp) October 29...of last year!

I'm sure MCA is waiting for the CMA's to release "I Got A Car", or. " When The Credits Roll". He's nominated for entertainer, and embarking on his final tour. So I believe ( No pun intended) that MCA has told country radio when George's next single will be shipped to them, along with the label saying "Forget about I Believe ever happened, just be sure your on board with the next single come CMA time. MCA thinks waiting 2 extra months to release IGAC or WTCR to coincide with the awards show plus the nomination will greatly help the new single on the charts and in the sales, even with "I Believe" tanking so badly...but I wasn't surprised cause "I Got A Car" SHOULD have been the next single. In fact if it was up to me It would have been the lead single.

Perhaps they'll still perform "Credits" on CMA if they perform anything at all. Source: PlayMPe.
