We Belong Together was #9
Hey Jude was #8
I would find it hard to believe a revised list would have I Gotta Feeling higher than Hey Jude
so I think #9 would be the rankning

The weighting by era thing comes into play. On many lists, Hey Jude was one of the top songs of the 60s. It was 9 weeks at #1 in an era where that wasn't common. Physical and You Light Up My Life are #7 and #6, the #1 songs of the respective decades.
As I recall I Gotta Feeling didn't pass We Belong Together point-wise until 2010, late into its chart run and after the decade list had already been released.

^That is correct. It's possible "I Gotta Feeling" would rank No. 9.

It's a long wait for a Billboard Hot 100 all-time list, until 2018's 60th anniversary. :/

As far as the Hot 100 goes, until 1977, the most amount of weeks that any song stayed at #1 was nine, and only three songs had accomplished the feat in nearly 20 years; "Mack The Knife," "Theme from 'A Summer Place'," and "Hey Jude." No Hot 100 #1 song managed a more than nine week run on top until "You Light Up My Life" spent ten weeks on top in 1977. And four years later, "Physical" also logged ten weeks at the summit. The longer run at #1 for both those songs may be part of the reason they rate higher on the all time list. But what of Elvis Presley's double sided hit "Don't Be Cruel/Hound Dog?" Didn't it spend a total of eleven weeks at #1? Yes it did, but it came out in 1956, before the inception of the Hot 100 in August 1958.

Just wondering if anybody had the Rock Hall nominees from this book? Would love to see who's been denied the most.

Amazing! Thank you.
That inaugural class must have been hard to choose, but it looks like the leftovers ended up getting in the following year.

What type of "all-time" charts does the Pop Singles book contain?

Bubbling Under hits were listed with Hot 100 entries back in the 2000s- did he do something different with the last edition?
I like the addition of the No. 1s-on-other-charts notes.
The note about HRH titles and critics' lists isn't really accurate, though- music industry professionals, which is mentioned, is more so.
The ! after "No. 1 Hot 100 Artist of..." is kinda silly.
The all-time singles listing is usually No. 1 hits ranked by weeks at No. 1. The acts rankings is based on a peak positions getting an assigned number of points, extra points for weeks at Nos. 1, 2 and 3, and number of weeks on the chart. This differs from Billboard's methodology.

*sigh* I want him to bring the sales and airplay positions back. Which I know will be hard to do since there are also digital, steaming, on-demand now. But he used to put the Bestsellers, Jukebox, Jockey etc. chart positions for the pre-Hot 100 songs.

I'm with you on bringing back the sales and airplay positions.
This is how I would set it up:
Singles Sales (SS) - October 1984 - February 2005 Airplay (A) - October 1984 - Present Digital Songs (DS) - February 2005 - Present Streaming (STR) - January 2013 - Present

Yes- on-demand is part of streaming, so there'd really be no need to include those peaks.
When Whitburn included airplay and sales peaks, he included peaks on Top 40 Radio Monitor and POS Sales for the period of May 1991-November 1991, even though that info was not yet used for the Hot 100. But, Billboard didn't publish the airplay and sales charts used for the Hot 100 during that period, so he didn't have much choice.
