AD in the Billboard update indicates Cole has signed to a record label and "Chillin' It" is set to start hitting the radio in time for a later summer top ten.
I'll add that I think Cole is going to win either an ACM or CMA in 2014 for New Artist of the Year. This is going to be a hit, then the songs he's likely to put on his debut album are likely hits as well. Radio is eating guys like Luke and FGL up right now and Cole is the next one to come through.
For those unfamiliar with Cole, he's been cranking out cuts as a song writer the last few years. Most notably on Craig Campbell's "Outta My Head" and Luke Bryan's "Just a Sip." He also reportedly has a few cuts on Luke's new album and one on Chris Young's as well.
Last note, Cole's last named is pronounced (let me see if I can explain this right) SWIN-dell, not like Swindull where it's all kind of strung together. I'm bad at explaining pronunciation.

Work at a radio station so some of both. Enough rumors usually equal some kind of truth

I would have bet on my sources but I have been wrong before. I just read the tweet you were talking about.
If so Warner took out three full page ads in this weeks edition (Blake Shelton, Cole and ? A comeback of some sort) #expensive

This song has actually been #1 the past couple weeks on The Highway's (Sirius/XM) top 30 countdown.

My favorite song on radio right now! Haven been listening to this on The Highway for quite a while now, have it on my iPod and as my ringtone. Really hope he has a super high hit with this one!

You knew it was just a matter of time before this happened. Love this song! Could it be 2013's "Cruise" (in a good way)? :)

So I figure Chase Rice will break through next and then we'll have met our quota for the FGL/Luke/Jake frat-boy sound, right?
I like Cole's voice (infinitely more listenable than the "vocals" the FGL boys put out), and I enjoy this song well enough, but there's really only so much more of this sound I can take on the radio. And right now it feels like this is pretty much the only sound out there doing anything, save the female output because, well, they can't sound like frat boys. ;) I am definitely ready for a new trend...

I've really enjoyed this song on The Highway over the last few months and I'm glad this is going to find its way to mainstream radio. I actually disagree with this song being part of the 'frat-boy sound'. The song could be tons louder but this has always been more of a chill/catchy song to me, one you can relax and just enjoy. I can appreciate those who don't like this sound, but i would take this over any Colt Ford song or the latest from Blake or 1994. This should be an autumn hit.
I guess slightly off topic, but The Highway really has carved a place in the industry. Their Facebook wall has polls on all the new songs played (many of which are without record labels or are signed to small ones) and they really listen to the fans. There were a few songs I heard a time or two to negative reactions and they were dropped almost immediately. Given the listeners of an XM station are probably a little more tech-savvy than the average country listener (a generalization but probably true), it's a great avenue for new artists to really sell digital singles and propel them to mainstream radio. 125,000 copies sold for Chillin' It already thanks mostly to The Highway, and they get credit for introducing the world to Florida Georgia Line (good or bad depending on your tastes). I understand many don't want to pay for music that is essentially free on a FM dial, but they are doing great stuff for new artists.
Not to mention their 1990-2001 country channel is fantastic :)

Yep, Chase is the next. Cole wrote a song called "Dozen Roses and a Six Pack" or some variation of that, and one of the two is going to record it and it will be a hit. I saw them both during CMA Fest at the Highway stage and I don't remember who sung it, so Cole might have given it to Chase. Anyway, yeah I hope Chase is the last from this line. I'm actually thinking the country radio is heading towards its tipping point with this kind of music. Slowly but surely, I'm confident. But this is a good song.

Can't say I really care for this song- it's not bad, but it reminds me too much of Cruise. However, I do think he and the song are better than anything FGL has to offer.

I read on Twitter it was Warner? Isn't the yellow shape in the background of the ad the Warner (WB) logo? Same one seen at the bottom of the Blake Shelton ad? I'd say Warner it is.

It's definitely the same shape as the Warner Bros. logo, so I do think we'll hear a more formal/official confirmation pretty soon. I can't seem to locate that tweet that y'all are talking about..

Was gonna say, it is following the EXACT path of "Cruise" to date, except its' outsold that song by about 25k to date. He's Luke Bryan's friend and actually used to sell his merch a few years back. He's a good talent and he does fit the group of stars making their way up the charts at the moment. I'd expect this one to be a nice sizable hit for him on radio.

Cole got six more adds this week and is up over 1200 mediabase points. "Chillin' It' really hasn't had a struggle at all getting up to the top twenty. Even though it has the same subject as "Cruise", its a Much! more enjoyable song to me. Ton of good tunes in the twenties and thirties right now (Nail, Swindell, Pardi, Scotty, Frankie, Love and Theft, Dan+Shay etc.) I expect "Chillin It" to get at least top five by January, and it couldn't happen to a better guy. Too bad his dad couldn't see his son enjoy more of his success.

As for the song, I can't imagine it not going at least top 5.

I'm always really late getting my ear wrapped about new music, but on the first listen I thought this sounded way too much like Cruise, which was mentioned above by others as I started reading the thread while listening to the song. With that thought in mind, it's going to take me a while to get a full opinion of this song without first thinking of it's relation to FGL.

I don't think this sounds like "Cruise" at all. Earlier in the thread, there was comparison of this to FGL's song, but no one every said that the two sound alike. The comparison is in that the two are following extremely similar paths in regards to sales and airplay. Also, there are a few similar elements, such as the lack of music before the singing begins and starting the song with the hook, but I don't see how the two sound alike. The vocals on this are definitely less twangy. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the two as sonically similar.
