None of the stores that I went to today had this. I was really hoping to get it today, but I guess I'll try again tomorrow if I have time.

YOUR NEW RELEASES: Bruce Springsteen has High Hopes to top next week's chart with what could be the first #1 debut of 2014. But keep an eye on Frozen, which performed strongly over the weekend. Can the soundtrack pull off another upset? Stay tuned. Here are this week's key debuts: Bruce Springsteen (Columbia) 90-100k Kidz Bop Kids (Razor & Tie) 55-60k Jennifer Nettles (Mercury Nashville) 50-55k Switchfoot (Atlantic) 35-40k Jon Pardi (Capitol Nashville) 20-25k Rosanne Cash (Blue Note) 14-17k In a related story: Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce! Wow, that's quite a bit higher than what I would've expected for her, actually. I know Sugarland's last album did 200k, but that had a big hit (Stuck Like Glue) on it, and they were really popular back then.
Considering this song barely dented the top 40, I think those are pretty good album sales. I think she's going to need a hit on radio, though, something that will go at least top 20, in order to make people more aware of this album.

I won't lie I wasn't sure what to expect for her first week sales. I thought it'd be a lot like Kellie's first weeks. But she seems to be all over. Her team is promoting her every way they can and it seems to be helping the album right now. Sure, this single didn't do well. But I think at least she has some name recognition working for her at this point. Not only with Sugarland but in her own right hosting things and appearing on her own the last few years. I know there still seem to be casual Sugarland fans who seem clueless about her solo career, single and album. It doesn't matter how many times she posts about it or Sugarland reposts it, they still don't seem to get what is going on. But hopefully with this big promotional push she is on for the album that will help that. But like Jhomes mentioned a stronger, bigger hit will help things even more.
Just a reminder she'll be livestreaming a show at ramcountry.music.yahoo.com tomorrow night at 8pm EST. From what I've read she will be playing the whole album all the way through. I believe it's only the second time she has done it. The first was in Nashville in November.

Consider me underwhelmed by this cd. Too many slow songs for my liking.

I couldn't even make it halfway through the album. Feels like every song is 10x slower than "Stay" was. Wish i hadn't wasted 12 bucks on it, guess i will start previewing music before i buy it.

I just came to post that! But she got #1 on the country album charts and #5 All Genre Album with the sales. I'm pretty proud of that considering everything that went on with lack of single success, etc. It was more or less done off of name basis and appearances it feels like.

Dear Jennifer,
Please go find Kristian and reform Sugarland and make wonderful country music again before its too late and we can pretend this album just never happened.
Sincerely,
A big Sugarland fan, but not here for whatever this album is...

I finally got around to listening to this album last night and I enjoyed it. It does really fit the singer/songwriter genre that I have become quite a strong fan of. There are quite a few good songs on here, but maybe one or two songs that I could see being released as singles. She sounds great on this album and I was quite pleased with the bonus tracks as well. I can also see myself liking this album more the more I listen to it as well.

I actually really enjoy this song and I am not a Sugarland fan whatsoever.

Looks like she has another round of promotion coming next week. I would have thought they'd do that this week for the west coast run of promotion but it seems they are working it all after The Grammy's instead.
January 25th - Jennifer Nettles: Making of That Girl on CMT January 27th - The Ellen DeGeneres Show January 28th - The Talk January 29th - Tonight Show with Jay Leno February 4th - The Queen Latifah Show

Wow! I am amazed at the quality of this new CD it's fantastic! Not really country but a bit of soft rock and I would call it Easy Listening. Better by herself than Sugarland..

I know we don't do a lot of these kinds of posts in the country board but I thought it would be alright for here? Since it was already a topic above. I found this on twitter and it's predicting sales for this week for Jennifer. I'm still a little surprised by this number that is predicted. I know most times there is a big drop from week one to week two. I was expecting a bigger drop from 55,000 that sold the first week. @chartnews 52m US chart preview: @youngthegiant, @lordemusic 30-35k | Bruce @springsteen 22-25k | @eminem, katy perry 21-24k | @jennifernettles 19-21k.From what I have heard from a friend who has a few sources within. UMG is going slow towards a second single due to the fact they don't want to flub the second single. They were disappointed by the fact PD's just didn't take to That Girl even after all the radio visits they did and the responses they got during those visits. The responses were positive but never translated. Falling tested the best on the radio tour with each and every station she visited. They feel it would be a sure-fire hit for radio but want to be sure PD's are on board with this before they officially release it. So it looks like Falling will be the new single when they feel it is right to release but there was nothing set in stone at the moment. It's a wait and see. Hopefully I remember everything correctly as I typed this all up. But that is more or less what the person said. It's frustrating to me as a fan to see this. At the same time I can get why they are holding back right now even though she has appearances where she is singing/promoting the album until they are sure everyone is on board with it. But I have noticed a few stations are testing Falling with their listeners in sink/swim, download/delete, smash/trash type deal. Live Nation as well as released to exclusive videos. One was a lyric video last week for Falling. This week is a behind the scenes/story behind Falling as well as Moneyball. Just a big wait and see I guess.

"Falling" and "Me Without You" are the only two songs on the album I care for. "Jealousy" is alright too, but I think its far from country. My pick for the next single would definitely be "Falling" although its still nothing that I see becoming a big hit

I really love her album. "Jealousy" would be my personal choice for the next single, but "Falling" works too. Whatever they go with, I hope they send it out soon. She's selling relatively well, and I think that it would be smart to try and cash in on her momentum, and the media appearances she has currently been making.
