I had to rewind Numb in the middle of Meek's rap. I mean...HOLY SHIT. What an opening,

I just cannot get enough of this album! It took me a while to warm up to Mascara and it wasn't until the album was released and I heard it as a part of the whole track listing that I really grew to appreciate the song. It's just a great album to listen to from beginning to end. (although nothing matches After The Hurricane for me...that song touches my soul like none other!)

I'm shocked that she is promoting. Did she do any during the album release?

She went on the Breakfast Club. I'm not surprised to see her out and promoting, but I'm surprised that RCA still cares enough to book her these promo spots. If that makes sense.

Well it is her management and I'm still shocked though. Her label does seem to care a bit because it dropped the album price on iTunes as well. I just wish there was a deal on the physical copy though. It is too expensive.

So glad she's out there doing promo! She's amazing live. They need to push "Let It Burn" to UAC and just get it over with though. I don't think Urban will touch this album, but she could at least see success there.
I have been listening to this album ALLLL WEEEK non-stop, not a bad spot on it. "Mascara," "Silver Lining," "Let It Burn," "Stupid Girl," "Stanley," and "If You Dare" are by far my favs though.
On an unrelated note, is Tamar always that annoying on The Real? Ugh. She makes it so hard to root for her.

Anyone else find themselves playing this album again and again? The vibe is just so slick for her - I didn't think it was gonna stick on me this long.
I heard Let It Burn on the radio last night and it sounded a JAM.

Saw her in concert last night. Sold out show. (Tickets were $28.) She was amazing. I also got the VIP package to see her rehearse before the show. Her entire crew is talented. Me and my friend were literally the only people there for it. At the end of her rehearsal, she looked at I guess her road manager or somebody and said "I could eat again..." Then she started talking about steak, and just walked off the stage. Her opening act is a guy by the name of Jordan Bratton. He's good. He's like Chris Brown singing Frank Ocean's music with the stage presence of Kanye West when he's performing "Jesus Walks." Setlist: 1. Famous 2. Dumb 3. Bust Your Windows 4. Lions, Tigers, and Bears 5. Holding You Down/Killing Me Softly 6. Let It Burn 7. If You Dare 8. Stupid Girls 9. Forever Don't Last 10. Masterpiece (Mona Lisa) 11. #HoodLove 12. Brand New 13. Mascara 14. Need U Bad 15. In Love With Another Man The show was live streamed for Yahoo Music! and might be online somewhere still, but I uploaded the whole thing to YouTube. I was on the front row dead center stage. I haven't watched any of these vids back, but she was having some kind of mic issue during the show (probably because her opening act literally slammed the mic on the stage like 10 times during his set. lmao) and there were parts where the only reason I heard her was because I was right in front of her.

And "Brand New" is definitely the fan favorite from the album tracks. After becoming my favorite, I started looking up performances of it, and it literally gets the biggest response outside of the singles. It was like one of the only album tracks that the entire audience sang word for word last night. She needs to record a bridge for it and make it the next single.

I was so disappointed when she didn't perform "Stanley." My friend Ashanti had to hold me down because I was tipsy and screaming "Stanley! I WANT STANLEY!"

Damn. I didn't know she was coming back to NY so soon. I already have tickets for All-American Rejects college tour in Staten Island with a friend of mine. I'll see her at some point hopefully.

I looked up the setlist in advance so I wasn't disappointed. The only difference was she switched the order of "Dumb" and "Bust Your Windows." And this is her opening act. Apparently, he just signed to RCA. He performed this last night.

Is there a specific sample on "Stanley"? The beat reminds me vaguely of "Do You Wanna Fink" by Sylvester.

She was incredible live. I know she has the obvious Lauryn Hill influence, but she gives me a lot of Phyllis Hyman vibes live. "Let It Burn" live was EVERYTHING. So were "Brand New," "Forever Don't Last," and "In Love With Another Man". A lot of her songs come off better in a live environment than on the albums.
