OMG. I am just on Brand New and this is EASILY my favorite album of hers. If I hear anything like In Love With Another Man, I would probably crumple to the floor. That is one of my favorite vocal performances EVER. That production on Brand New is so nasty. Edit: Stanley noooooo...what is this mess?! Her voice sounds great, of course. But, the instruments sound out of key and the beat is a mess and sounds sloppy. OK, by the end I guess I was grooving but it seemed so...out of place. Masterpiece is great, but also out of place because it sounds like it belongs on a Lionel Ritchie 80s album or something. It reminds me of Nightshift (instrumentally) by The Commodores, which I love. It just sounds randomly dated but I do like the way it sounds and again, she sounds perfect.

The vocals on this album make me believe in real singing again. This album and Faith's "Incomparable" contain some of the best vocals from any R&B singer in a good while now.

The second half is so much better than the first.

I don't know about that. Near flawless album from start to finish. Stanley is the only weak link here.Flawless. Stanley has grown on me exponentially. It's such a lark and it takes getting used to but it's different for her and I like that. She is really such an incredible artist. I wish more people would know about her.

I know! Way better than expected. Shows she has a fanbase there. She just needs a hit.

It currently has an 88 on Metacritic with 5 reviews in. At least she has her most critically acclaimed album. :)

Yeah. I feel the same way I feel about Mariah's latest. Fuck sales. Get that critical acclaim and actually improve upon your craft.

I wanted to love this album, because I love Jazmine's last 2 records. This one just seems a lot more hit or miss than the other two though. I find myself skipping around around.

She is soooooo incredible.
Probably my favorite album of hers, I think she's gotten better with each release. I actually think Forever Don't Last is the weak point on the album.

I'm starting to warm up to a couple of the songs that didn't immediately win me over. Top 5 right now is "Let It Burn," "Stanley," "Mona Lisa," "Mascara," and "Brand New".

"Stupid Girl" should be her Pop hit. It is infectious.

Seems to be almost universally praised as her best album yet. My top three right now:
1) Masterpiece 2) Mascara 3) Let It Burn

I love Stanley now. OMG. This album is perfect. I agree with Jack: no way this won't wind up as one of the best albums of the year, when all is said and done.

Um why is the title of "Forever Don't Last" isn't "Forever Doesn't Last"? She sings "doesn't" and not once says "don't" which I'm happy she doesn't. I don't get that. Have she ever explained the reasoning behind the title?
I didn't know "If You Dare" was a bonus track. It makes sense that it is because "Masterpiece (Mona Lisa)" is a great closer even though I love the former now. It is such a cute bop and lyrically, one of my favorites on the album.

I was wondering about why it's called "Forever Don't Last" too. During the Breakfast Club, she even called the song "Forever Doesn't Last."

This album is my first proper musical obsession of 2015. As a full body of work it's great, but I especially just can't get over how good "Mascara" and "Stanley" are.

Well, Forever Don't Last is how they would say it in the ghetto so maybe that was what she was going for. I have seen other examples where the title was slightly different than the hook or whatever. NBD.
