Lol I don't troll Kelly threads. Just google Kelly clarkson and hit news and its everywhere. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion Blogs/sites posting articles about her tweet (and mostly agreeing with her) ≠ backlash.

I've don't just that and no backlash comes up. If you're still confused, feel free to PM me and I can try to explain this better, but I don't want to derail the thread further. But do know we are talking about posts like this in regards to clarifying Pulse's trolling rules so I'm just giving you a heads up.

But do know we are talking about posts like this in regards to clarifying Pulse's trolling rules so I'm just giving you a heads up. Stop trolling! Geez. Yes that Tie it Up performance was rocking! I am cutting into limited Pulse time JUST to address you, so you can either take this as the highest of compliments or the most scathing of judgments. Your call. But please stop trying to make fetch happen. It's not going to happen. Kelly's tweet isn't a big deal, neither by degree of shadiness, impact it made, or response it got. But even if it was, so what? Seriously, so what. No one else in the thread cares and constantly trying to divert the topic back to it - and specifically, putting a negative spin on it each time - is the thing that would make you come off as trolling. So let it go unless and until you can actually post multiple media sources for the "everywhere" that you are seeing discussion about it. (Also don't be surprised if said posts go without much or any response.)

The only two people who are upset are Miley's two friends hahahahahah. Why is she bitter? She is going to be married very soon, just won a Grammy, had her biggest hit a year ago, and has a 11+ year career. www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2402377/Miley-Cyruss-BFF-hits-bitter-Kelly-Clarkson-criticising-singers-raunchy-VMAs-performance.htmlOn Twitter, the only possible criticisms of Kelly I see are "you're fat who cares what you say" or "when is the last time you had a hit". Both of course are reductive because anyone who puts stock into upset crazy fans are going to be upset. Crazy fans on twitter literally praise anything their favorite artist does and act like their little army. Also, it should go without mentioning, Kelly's What Doesn't Kill You is probably bigger than all of her (Miley's) hits combined. Also, not to mention her reputation among her peers which I don't believe Miley will ever have. On the other hand, articles, TV, and radio stations almost agree in unison. They like Kelly's opinion of the VMAS. Today on the way to school, the DJ said Kelly was queen and had the best post-VMA tweet. They also said laughing, "is Kelly Clarkson irrelevant"? On the whole, this is not damaging on Kelly's career and I proud she had the guts to voice her honest and much needed opinion to the horror that was this year's VMAs.

So, can someone sum how other Christmas album releases have worked with regards to "singles"? I know they can't really be treated like real singles, because radio will hesitate on them until after Thanksgiving, but singles are released, and one will be for Kelly, so is there a consensus on when that happens? ...I guess I can do some of this myself. "Oh Santa!", Mariah's lead single for Merry Christmas II ( ), was released October 11, and the album released November 1. But Michael Buble's Christmas was released October 25, and the lead single (All I Want For Christmas Is You cover x 2) not until November 16. He also released "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas / Jingle Bells" on November 18 and "White Christmas" December 11. So...that's interesting. I suspect we'll get the single the first or second week of October then? I wonder if they'll release a cover as a single, as well, or stick to original material? Or both, if they do a super-squished single release schedule like Michael Buble.

So let it go unless and until you can actually post multiple media sources for the "everywhere" that you are seeing discussion about it. Sorry that I am late to the party, but even the trashy Dailymail article about Miley's friend (Cheyne) "responding" to Kelly's comments ended with the following statement, "With the provocative performance causing a stir the world over thanks to the power of the internet, this is one battle Cheyne and Miley for that matter are likely to lose." Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2402377/Miley-Cyruss-BFF-hits-bitter-Kelly-Clarkson-criticising-singers-raunchy-VMAs-performance.html#ixzz2dCcYqXjO spoonabdul3, can you please post links to the "backlash" that is "everywhere" as you stated in your earlier posts ? I certainly am not seeing this, but rather has come across support of comments from artists, such as Kelly, Nick Cannon, Adam Levine, etc. dbhmr, I do not have an answer to your question, but wanted to solicit your and others' opinions as to the sales performance of Kelly's Christmas album. The uber-fan in me would love for this record to parallel to the massive holiday sales that other premier vocalists' Christmas records have (Michael Buble, Josh Groban, etc.). Unfortunately, as much as Kelly's critical acclaim has grown over the past several years and as much as she is respected as a top-tier vocalist, I do not feel that the public's critical acclaim is anywhere on the level of the aforementioned artists to produce such huge sales. Discuss.

I honestly don't see the value in continuing the backlash discussion because I don't think it exists, and I think in this case, the moderator has spoken, so to speak.
With regards to your sales question, I have very conservative estimates. I think it's going to open soft--something in the 60-90k range (her GH opened with 75k, for reference). I think if the single is well received, she'll go Gold by the end of the year at the very least, and I think that will be a success.
Christmas albums have tremendous, potential, however, and Kelly is in a very interesting place in her career. Her straddling of CHR/HAC/AC/Country may work fabulously for a release like this, especially if the CD hits all those points and it is marketed as such. But the variety could also alienate those audiences from each other, and they may just stick to downloading tracks that pertain to their interests on iTunes.
I sort of think this could sell around 400k and be a nice chunk of change for the label and be a nice gift to fans, or explode and sell upwards of 1.5 million and do great with recurrent sales for years to come. It really depends on the material, the promotion, the word-of-mouth (especially critical for Christmas albums, it seems), and the reception.

Or both, if they do a super-squished single release schedule like Michael Buble. I think it's all over the place. Sarah McLachlan released "River" from Wintersong in late August I want to say (or if not, then it was early September). Obviously radio didn't jump on it then, but it was available for them to play. That's the earliest example I can think of, but it's in no way the norm. Colbie Caillat released "Christmas In The Sand" as a single October 15th of last year, and her album was out the 23rd. So yeah, I guess I'd expect a single in early October, since Kelly's album is out the 29th, but there's a chance it could be earlier.

Wintersong One of my favorite Christmas albums ever. Here's hoping Kelly can match the quality of that album (and queen Mariah's original, ofc).

Probably wishful thinking from myself, but the way that email from RCA said "stay tuned for your first listen" or whatever makes me think we'll hear the single sooner than we think, sometime in September I'd guess. But I see it being more of a preview from Kelly's site type thing rather than it being from an official release to radio and iTunes.

Omg Sarah fans here as well! I'd love Kelly to collaborate with her! They must at least like each other's works! Kelly was invited to Sarah's Lilith Fair tour and she recorded Sarah's "Angel" (awful production, but whatever) - Secretly I wished a newly recorded version of the song was on Wrapped In Red, but whatever.. it sounds x-mas-ish to me, okay?
All I have to say about the album's success now is... RCA PLEASE PROMOTE WISELY!
Also Kelly's showing some Carrie Underwood, Lana Del Rey and Selena Gomez love on Twitter

So apparently on Miley's tumblr account she shaded Kelly with, "Im 20 I have time to right my wrongs but ur a grown ass 30 yr old woman." and also wrote, "Haven’t had a #1 since American idol. I’d be mad too."
I find it funny that she would only single Kelly out when many other people said worse things about the performance.

Whether it was actually Miley's personal tumblr or just a fan pretending to be her, then I hope it's the latter. It wouldn't fit with Miley's 'don't give damn' attitude single anyone out or even respond to negative opinions.
