Now that she explained that the meaning behind BBHMM will be revealed in the video, I wonder if the song was specifically released as a tie-in with the TIDAL campaign and the "bitch" she's referring to is the streaming industry not paying her enough revenue. The lyrics make a bit more sense, especially when she refers to how popular her records are once they drop and then demands that they "pay me what you owe me". Just my hunch.

I'm really liking what I've heard from this project. She's maintaining just enough of her core strengths while experimenting outward.
I wasn't a fan of Unapologetic outside a few tracks, none of which were singles, but I haven't been this excited for a Rihanna release since before Diamonds came out.

WOW. I'm at an airport lounge and they have the games on and this 'song' comes on. I applaud RiRi for doing different music, but.... A BANGER would've been more appropriate for this crowd. Strange choice of music for FF.

'American Oxygen'. It's been the theme song for March Madness. That was terrible. I think it was her sound crew playing a huge role in that. She was waiting for something huge to happen from the looks of her constantly looking behind her. I wanna give her the benefit of the doubt b/c I don't think I can blame this travesty on the liquor. Lol

I believe it is. The message is okay, but the production behind it does it no justice, IMO.

There was something wrong with the audio and the band. She was constantly looking back in the beginning and you can see her looking mad af on some videos, lmao.
Something went wrong and someone is getting fired tonight.

Yeah, the performance was a mess, but I think the song sounds like a multi-format smash. There could be so many promotional tie-ins for it.

People who were there said she didn't sound as bad as on the stream and some videos I've seen really showed some things I couldn't quite catch yesterday. That stream was really bad and that censoring With that being said, I was not impressed and she should work on her performance skills; I hate when she barely sings some songs. Everyone has a bad day and she can't really be blamed for other issues beyond her control. She'll do better next time :) The setlist last night, for anyone who's interested: 1. A Night (Intro) 2. RockStar 101 3. American Oxygen 4. Rude Boy 5. Umbrella 6. Live Your Life 7. Run This Town 8. All Of The Lights 9. Pour It Up 10. Bitch Better Have My Money 11. FourFiveSeconds 12. Where Have You Been 13. We Found Love 14. Stay 15. Diamonds

LMAO. I don't know what went wrong last night or what was even going on for that matter, but that show completely sh*t the bed. It just seemed poorly rehearsed, she was sleepwalking and the audio was abysmal.
Oh well! It happens. Better planning next time please.

Is something wrong with the song or is it supposed to sound like that? the production is awful. It sounds so different from the march madness commercial doesnt it?

I like it, but it should've been 4 minutes long; would have been sufficient.

That performance was so terrible but I saw nothing but glowing reviews on my TL. Someone even commented on how she's grown so much vocally...
People really do not know or care what a good performance is unless the media dictates it.

Well we can safely assume AO will not be a hit (hopefully not a single). This will be an interesting era if FFS is actually the big hit from it. Though we have only heard 3 songs so far so who knows.

Hmm... this is sounding like her 'American Life', just with hits. But BBHMM is fun. American Life was the opposite of that. The reactions to the new material is hilarious to watch from some. Like, if you're that bothered with Rihanna doing more Urban material, you don't have to pay that much attention to it. Carly Rae Jepsen has a song that's nothing but frothy Becky 's aunt pop, go listen to that. I'm sure she and Scooter Braun would appreciate it. I like AO overall, you can definitely feel Kanye all over it. She's 3/3 for me so far.

And at the same time you can't expect an artist to ditch their primary star making sound and not have some uproar/backlash within the fanbase. Not that I'm even saying she's doing that this era, after all it has only been 3 songs. But if this whole album is like that there will be upset fans for sure, and they have a right to be. They became fans of a Rihanna who was musically something different than most of what we've gotten this era. Sure she always had her dabbles in urban, but its been a very secondary sound for her all of her career. She's not Beyonce where most of her stuff was urban rooted, and only occasionally did she do pure pop. Rihanna is the complete opposite of that, up to this point at least.
