Told you guys over a month ago that all signs pointed to this album being nowhere near complete and she was basically in demo mode trying to see what sticks. Believe that more than ever now, especially with these pics of her still in the studio. These songs we've gotten are all gonna just end up being "buzz singles" not even on the album, just watch. The album's not coming out until November/December. Q1 2016 wouldn't even shock me, though I do think they're aiming for a Holiday release.

In the last 2-3 days, she's flown from NYC to London to Miami and is now in Cuba. I wonder what she's up to...

Stans will say it's a smart move to regroup and get things right with a Pop hit, a bop, etc. But I think the casuals and those who follow things meticulously, it will come across as tho she is not confident in releasing the album (that i personally think is finished, they are just in a bind) without any real monster hit. Like she can't survive without hits and a potential "My December" era. BBHMM isn't doing too bad. They should just release the album.

Gut is def telling me they're (well ESP Rihanna) is not happy w/ the reception these singles got and is in super red alert mode. Call em whatever u want but they were absolutely NON 'buzz' singles lol- def. real official releases. I also agree w/ a few others that the album was prob 99% ready for release but for a woman who had #1 smash after the next just 2-3 years ago yrs ago (and w/in striking distance to get the most #1as for a female at only 27) to what she's encountered w/ these last 3 songs has to be an epic blow. Really hoping if there's anyone left from her smash era, they're doing what needs to be done. Or she's at least getting back some of the key players from that time and are in the process of whipping up some instant pop/dance/r&b sure fire hits.

She looks fucking incredible with that hair. As for the shoot, it looks very similar to the one she did in France last December. Def giving me the idea that it's all for one big "project"

I still can't shake the feeling that this being her last album with Def Jam but first with Roc Nation has a lot to do with this. I'm not sure why this needs to be a joint release - either do one last album with DJ or move over to Roc Nation completely. It's already difficult enough getting an artist on the same page with ONE label, never mind getting two labels and that artist to agree on everything. So you probably have one label gassing her up, the other label freaking out b/c it's not up to the usual Rihanna standard of hits, and Rihanna herself probably not giving a fuck and determined to do whatever she wants now that she's got a solid decade of experience and hits under her belt. I'm willing to bet that until AO flopped she was perfectly fine with how things were going and she might not even be as bothered by that as she could or should be. Let's not forget that before any of these singles had come out, she said the album would be revealed 'bit by bit' or something like that. So this could have been the plan all along and/or she knew when she said that she didn't have much ready and they were going to just throw a few singles out to not go too long without her having something out, but still buy her some time and see what sticks. Nothing really wrong with that, IMO. That said, I still maintain that this era wasn't too messy when it was just FFS and BBHMM - this only feels messy to us because we don't know what is going on and are left to speculate - but I do think it might be kind of messy just in terms of everyone involved likely wanting or expecting different things out of this. But again, that is just me being left to speculate. At the end of the day the only one whose final opinion matters and will pull it together is Rihanna, though. If she doesn't cooperate, no one else can make a move, really. Really hoping if there's anyone left from her smash era, they're doing what needs to be done. Or she's at least getting back some of the key players from that time and are in the process of whipping up some instant pop/dance/r&b sure fire hits. You say this like she only had one smash era. Or are you just referring to her career overall? Either way, since this is her last album with Def Jam I don't think I would expect her to still have or return to most of the people she worked with before. Even though RN was her management already, I assume she'll have different people doing her A&R and radio promo now.

Lol.
Why do I feel like they're setting up some sort of massive TIDAL deal that'll finally give the company the break they need? The fumes that will follow. Ki.

Rihanna is performing live in Chile for the first time ever, at Estadio Nacional, on September 29th (3 days after her Rock In Rio concert).

I have always been a fan of Rihanna...not a stan or anything and I don't know all the ins and outs of her career...but I like what I have heard on the radio over the years. I just hope this era does not turn out like Mariah's latest. Keep dropping singles over the course of the year to see if anything sticks and then release an album that bombs. Since January she has released 3 singles with none of them setting the world on fire, which is unusual for Rihanna. I have to say, I did really like Four Five Seconds. (Actually four singles if you count the one from the Home soundtrack) The name of the album hasn't been mentioned, nor a release date..as far as I can tell. What's going on?

Well the Rihanna hype (for the most part) is gone. I wonder what they plan on doing now...

I'm so tired of folks on here downplaying the success of "FourFiveSeconds" and "Bitch Better Have My Money".

I was ready for her this year. I enjoyed the movie, the soundtrack, and the singles. But an album and tour is what I really wanted. It's OK though Robyn, Janet's here...you can take a few more months off!

I've accepted the fact we won't be getting anything until the fall. I'm fine with that. The album just better be fucking amazing and she better promote the shit out of it...like Loud era type promotion.

Rihanna has released 3 off the wall singles that obviously weren't tailored hits. We were lucky for one to chart well.
How about we wait until Rihanna actually pushes a radio hit before we declare the sky is falling?
Off the wall singles not charting well doesn't mean her career is ending. It just means she released off the wall singles. If she comes back with a radio hit, it wouldn't surprise me if it would fly up the charts like she never left. People are used to odd releases from her. Her career isn't built on the traditional release schedule

I think the first two singles have done extremely well. My only issues have been with the lack of release date for the album, the marketing of "American Oxygen", and the response to "American Oxygen". Like I REALLY love that song. I'm very grateful and Robyn's already done quite a bit this year, so it's crazy that she was hyping up #R8 for so long and it's not even here. I'm still bopping to the Home soundtrack and the singles (I'm honestly content with it), but if the album isn't ready, PLEASE be clear with that in your communication and don't hype up something that's not complete. She could have easily released nothing and still had us in suspense, but she did put something out, so I'm not upset. I just think we've become so conditioned to Rihanna releasing yearly that we became over excited when they started hyping new music. I don't think the fans are greedy, I just feel like they should have kept that #R8 crap silent. Hopefully she learns from this and doesn't do it again.

She sold 80% of the National Stadium (55k) in one day here in Santiago for her first show ever in September. In the news they've said this is to promote her 8th Album called R8 Lol
I wanted to go with my sister, but.. The tickets were really expensive and the stadium is not really good for concerts. I thought she wouldn't do good selling the tickets, but wow, i was really wrong
