His album is now available for listen on iTunes, with "My Baby's Gun N Roses" for download. It sounds very similar to all his other singles. There's also a song called "Small Town Throwdown" with Justin Moore and Thomas Rhett on it. I can't help but feel that song is going to sell a lot of downloads in the first week the album comes out, prompting it to be released at the second single. Already reminds me of The Only Way I Know by Jason Aldean.

Honestly I'm looking forward to the album, BG has some head-scratchers but his albums are usually full of high quality songs.

By the way, new song is currently 16 on all genre chart already. I know it was just released, but I never saw Brantley becoming as big as he is right now. I think his album is going to sell between 100-150k in it's first week easily.

^ I have to agree, his fan base is absolutely huge, and I'm definitely excited to hear the album. Hope it's more "You Don't Know Her" and less "Kick It In The Sticks".

^I sure hope his album isn't so much "Kick It in the Sticks" as that song barely scraped the top 40 following two back-to-back #1 hits for BG. Decent song, but certainly not good for country radio.
Today's chart update does not look good for this song. It lost the bullet and dropped 50 spins and 300k audience. Maybe Eric will get to #1 on both charts after all. I'm just surprised that such a high-impacting hit could be on its way down after a rapid climb up the charts and only six weeks in the top 10. I'd say only about ten country songs per year sell as well as this record has. Plus, Brantley got nowhere near as high as Jerrod Niemann's song did in spins and audience, so it really surprises me that this can't get more than one week at #1.
Apparently it's almost impossible to stay at #1 once you've topped Mediabase. Look at the few three-week #1 songs in the recent past. "It Goes Like This" and "When She Says Baby" both didn't get Mediabase until their last week at #1 on Billboard, which is why they managed to stay afloat for long stays at the top of the charts. We've had a few songs hold out for a second week at #1 on Mediabase, but those only include songs from FGL (who got lucky with "Stay" being #1 at the end of the year), Luke Bryan, who is of course the hottest star in the format right now, and Blake Shelton, whose song "Mine Would Be You" got lucky because for some reason "Aw Naw" just collapsed the week of its final push.
So my conclusion is that it's best for a song to wait as long as possible before getting the Mediabase #1. BG really should have tried harder to let Eric Church jump ahead to #1 on Mediabase last week, so "Bottoms Up" would have been able to get two weeks at #1 on Billboard (last week and this week) and climb to much higher peak airplay numbers.
Right now, I'd say the odds are about evenly split between BG and EC for #1 this week. I'm sure BG won't fall so hard every day this week and could easily put up a few more gains, but this is a bit much to be losing on only a Wednesday. I guess I'm indifferent as to who I want to be #1, since I love "Bottoms Up" but really love Eric Church as an overall artist even though I feel majorly let down by his latest record.

The album sounds way more "mainstream" than his previous records, if these first two singles (the new one is on iTunes now).

The digital single for "Bottoms Up" has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.
I don't know why his label won't certify his Gold album "Halfway To Heaven" Platinum.

Is this still going recurrent for tonight's update on Mediabase? I see the Afternoon update still has it on the chart, and I checked the last 2 weeks and both had negative on points and spins, so it should still go recurrent on tonight's update.

It didn't go recurrent tonight. Shouldn't it have? Or did it have a bullet the week it dropped to #2?

It's still in the top 10 - do things go recurrent while in the top 10 or no? I think BB at least has that stipulation, not sure about MB.

This should go recurrent on Mediabase. Even if it's still on there on AllAccess, I don't expect to see it in Aircheck tomorrow night.

Mediabase pulls songs on the third consecutive week without a bullet, regardless of where they are on the charts (except from #1). So a song could conceivably (and this has happened, I'm pretty sure) go recurrent from #2.

Just checked Mediabase, published chart and Brantley has been removed from the top 50. It should not be on tomorrow's updated chart.

Going back a few years, "Making Memories Of Us" went back to #2 unbulleted and stayed there for a second unbulleted week before going recurrent.

The days before massive weekly pushes to #1, and then plummeting like a rock the next week...
