Drake sold less than the 670-695k projected but still better than last album despite it not being near a holiday weekend.

Happy for Cher! I thought she was the only woman in the top 10. Just realized Krewella is a trio of 2 women and a man. Not familiar with their music. I know you were partially answered , but they also had a minor pop hit this year with alive . It wasnt a strong seller (only went gold) but It made top 15 on pop airplay. Peaked at 32 on the hot 100

He really has left a deep penetration within his fans for them to still be buying his cds at numbers like this for this album. I'm happy but surprised I thought with the singles so far he would sell less. You know the music genre's are soooo separated now. Here's a young guy who is HUGE in his genre but I can't name one song of his because I don't listen to his genre of music. Yet, I do listen to a lot of popular music. Just a comment by me. It's sort of the same thing with Bruno Mars at the Superbowl halftime. I say most people won't know who he is. Someone else says that they don't know anyone who doesn't know who he is. I guess it all boils down to your circle of family and friends and what music they listen to. With so many entertain options now, we just aren't going to see the making of many stars that most random people walking down the stree will all know. I do think Drake's selling strength has remained very steady.

I do think Drake's selling strength has remained very steady. I agree. For example people would say Lady Gaga is the biggest pop star in the world, but in my first year at university I never heard anybody mention her in conversation, and I never heard any of her songs played in someone's room or car or at a party or in a club (I'm sure people know who she is though, but she'd be a complete non-factor in my life if I didn't follow the charts and post on forums like this). Yet there's artists who've never had a chart hit who I heard a lot of. And there's songs from 10 years ago I hear more than current "hits". That said, I'm sure my parents have never heard of 95% of the artists I listen to.
