Any ideas why this song had weak sales? (other than that Demi's singles usually have weak sales). Why this song though?

I just feel like many people loved hearing it on radio, or just didn't hate it enough to skip it. Yet the ones who liked it, didn't like it enough to buy it, I mean Heart Attack and Give Your Heart a Break had higher sales, but I mean those two are arguably her best songs, so... it's basically the normal situation with her.

Were their sales on-par with their high airplay though or still lagging?

Well Heart Attack made it pretty high on pop I think #4, right, and I'd say for the first half of her run her sales were doing pretty good maybe slightly under par, but not much... then the next half it started dropping tremendously... :'( GYHAB made it to #1 on pop radio, and sold over 2 million, so I'd say lagging because a #1 song should be pulling in more than that!

Any ideas why this song had weak sales? (other than that Demi's singles usually have weak sales). Why this song though? That's usually the case with dance songs that do well on pop (see all of Calvin Harris' singles, Zedd's singles, "Slow Down", "Alive", "Take Me Home", "Let Me Love You", etc.). They usually all have radio peaks that outshine their digital sales. Usually this is because dance songs are kinda faceless. They're the most generic songs on the radio for the most part, and while listeners don't mind hearing them on the radio, they don't usually feel much of an incentive to buy them. "Neon Lights" seems to be the biggest victim of that. Anyway, not surprised this over. It's had a fantastic run, and I couldn't ask for anything more. Now hopefully, we get a fourth single that isn't "Fire Starter", or she comes back with a new lead single soon. ETA: Oh, "RDC" was just announced. That works

Then we have the same kind of songs such as "Turn Down For What", "Animals" and surprisingly "Latch" that have decent sales yet are either just taking off or haven't taken off as much as the other songs. But for a song that peaked in the top 5 with that kind of atrocious sales, its run is pretty impressive though.

Kind of like the 2010's equivalent to the dance radio hits of the 90's such as "Another Night" by Real McCoy or "Be My Lover" by La Bouche or "This is Your Night" by Amber?

Those songs are much less generic though. "Turn Down For What" and "Animals" are both basically instrumentals, and have things like Vine helping them. "Latch" is more garage than the typical EDM style of the other songs I mentioned.

It looks like this never officially peaked at 5? Just 7? It peaked at #5 during last week's published update.
