"All For Love" is overrated. I personally think "Golden" would be a better single choice, but it doesn't seem likely that either will ever see release. I really love both songs, but I was never expecting "Golden" to get released as a single. (a bit too slow for radio)

"All For Love" could be the "Just Give Me A Reason" of country radio.

They always write when on tour for songs for their next album. They are touring through end of August and then have show in Sept and 2 in Nov scheduled. Hillary said they were just starting to write and they are taking their time. I don't expect an album until early next year. They had mentioned before about going back and releasing another song from Golden, which I think they should and then final release from this era should be And The Radio Played. The songs from Golden/Golden Deluxe in the new set on tour are Downtown, Compass, Better Off, And The Radio Played, Get To Me, and It Ain't Pretty. Goodbye Town is in an acoustic set of 4 songs mixed together so its like only a minute of it.

I want "And The Radio Played" released simply because it mentions "Forever and For Always", "Before He Cheats", and "Love Story".

Looks like this will peak this weekend at either #2 or #1. Given the seemingly lack of interest and low sales (by Lady A standards) to this song and Goodbye Town, I wonder if they will end the era on this song?

Even though it's having to coming from way back, I do expect this song to make it to #1 on Billboard. It needs some help from Aldean, and I think he'll provide it. It has one fewer day to work on a #1 on MB, but that's also possible.

I think they will release "And The Radio Played" yet. There's no way that radio won't fall in love with that one, and in this case I can hardly blame them because I think it's a very strong song. So I am pretty confident that they will release that one yet and it will be the last release from the Golden era. I would not be surprised to see ATRP become one of their biggest hits.

I agree ATRP is very strong song and it's one of my top 3 favorites by them ever but I'm not convinced it will be a big digital seller in this current radio climate. I hope I'm wrong, because I do believe a few years ago it's the type of song that would be a huge hit. I'm just not sure anymore a song like that will be big.

I'm sad to hear that "Compass" and "Goodbye Town" have been low-sellers with low interest in them. They are by far two of my favorite Lady A songs in quite a long time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that their next album will sound more like their debut and Need You Now than the boring Own the Night. I'm on the fence about Golden, I like about half the record but I'm not in love with anything, and the other half of the record I could live without. It's better than Own the Night, but Lady A can do better.

I want Compass to hit #1 so I can move Lady Antebellum from #77 to #67 on the list of those artists with the most #1 hits. Compass is a good song and should close the Golden era out. A new lead single, please.

The last Lady A lead single just came out a little over a year ago, and they've even gone and released a deluxe edition of this album, so I think it's a bit early to move on to a new album already. I agree that it would be perfect to release ATRP for a summertime hit and then move on to a new "era" in the fall.

Well, today's update just about seals it. Lady A only gained about 230k--not a huge number--but Jason lost a little more than 900k, so I don't see any way for WSSB to manage a 4th week at #1 on Billboard. This means that "Compass" will probably hit #1 with maybe an audience of 2-4 million less than Jason put up, but still a pretty strong number.
Next week looks like a battle between Dierks and Frankie. Thompson Square's EISBTA looks like it's running on fumes.

While this single hasn't exactly been massive, it is headed for a Gold certification in digital sales and it's done well to put the Golden era back on track after the misstep that was "Goodbye Town." I can't see them passing up on releasing "And the Radio Played." That one just has smash hit written all over it, and I wouldn't be surprised if it became one of Lady A's biggest singles.

Lady A and Stevie Nicks will perform Golden at the ACM awards Sunday. Although not an official single I believe this will be their 4th single from Golden. Whether it be the version with Stevie Nicks or just their version.

It would just be such a mistake to pass on "And the Radio Played" as a single. I do enjoy "Golden" a lot (the namedrop of Wichita in particular sticks with me - being as I lived there for a time and I'm about to move back this fall), but I don't view it as a radio single at all. I could see it performing similarly to "Wanted You More" by struggling to get into the Top 20 and not much higher than that.

I think they'll perform it just because it seems more appropriate for an awards show than a simple, catchy, radio-friendly song like "And the Radio Played," but I suspect they will go with ATRP as the next radio single.

I am starting to doubt they release another single at all. Seems they would have taken this opportunity at an awards show to perform ATRP if they indeed were going to release it. It is a very clever nostalgic song that would have brought back memories of past great hits to viewers of this awards show. I'm guessing they go with Golden or end the era. If they do happen to release ATRP, they have missed a big opportunity to showcase it on the show.

I kind of get the sense that them performing Golden is more of an era closer a la Taylor performing All Too Well at the Grammy's...

"Golden" is a great song, it's just not radio material at this moment in time, and adding Stevie Nicks to it will do nothing exempt get a little bump from fans thanks to the award show performance. That's why there's a recording of it.
I have a feeling that they'll release another single from "Golden" the album. It wouldn't make sense to not do that. Otherwise, they'd have to wait until like July to release a new single from a fall-release album. Just don't see that happening.

My thought process on this is that since they're performing with Stevie Nicks they probably picked "Golden" as a song that would work with her as a featured artist (I certainly can't imagine her being featured on "And the Radio Played"), because I imagine that duet was somehow arranged early on and had nothing to do with what they planned to release as their next single. I'm sure Lady A is excited to perform a song with her on the show, regardless of what they get to perform.

Everything is completely quiet on the Lady A front. It doesn't appear that they will release another single from Golden. I can't believe that they are passing up on releasing "And The Radio Played". I think that is a definite smash.
I liked "Compass" quite a bit and yet the whole Golden era has been a huge disappointment to me, probably the biggest disappointment (in terms of singles released) for an album and its singles in the last 5 years at least. Every single song on the standard edition was near perfection for me aside from "Generation Away" (the only song I dislike on the album). "Downtown" was great and is definitely one of my all-time favorite singles from them but then "Goodbye Town" (another favorite) under-performed a bit at radio and the rest of the album basically got shelved, and that is such a huge disappointment to me.
"Nothin' Like The First Time", "It Ain't Pretty", "Can't Stand The Rain", "Golden", "Long Teenage Goodbye", and "All For Love" were all incredible songs. My favorite of the non-released album tracks is definitely "Better Off Now (That You're Gone)" though. I think any of these songs would've sounded great at radio.
Their momentum has fallen so sharply since "Need You Now". Obviously they were never going to create a hit that big again, but ever since the tail-end of the Own The Night era, their sales--both album and singles--have fallen very sharply.
So maybe it would be best for them to take several months off and come out with a brand new single this fall (in order to make fans and radio miss them), but I am still really sad at how the Golden era played out. :'( It's my favorite album from them...I rank it just above their debut.

I'm very disappointed with this era as well. I think ATRP is such a great nostalgic song and in years past I agree it would be a huge hit. At this time though and the current state of radio, I don't think ATRP would be a huge seller nor would today's dominate listening audience even know most of the song titles in the song. I think in the end, it just would not do well on radio. I think they need to take a break but I'm betting we get a lead single by August from them.

Their debut is still my favorite CD from them, but I definitely agree that this era just feels so wrong. I know that for a group like Lady A it can be a tough radio market but I don't feel like their music is *that* far removed from The Band Perry, and TBP is still doing fine. I really, really wish they'd released Better Off Now - that's one album track that will probably never sit well with me staying an album track. I'm not nearly as in love with And the Radio Played as y'all are (I actually don't really like it all that much), but it still feels so strange that the era just ... ended.

I mean, their Album isn't flying off the shelves and outside of the lead single this era, none of the other singles have been huge digital sellers like they have had in the past.

This is true, but TBP isn't really struggling so far at radio, at least not the point Lady A is at right now, so I feel like TBP still has more momentum and is viewed more favorably at the moment than Lady A.

I mean, their Album isn't flying off the shelves and outside of the lead single this era, none of the other singles have been huge digital sellers like they have had in the past. I agree about The Band Perry--I know they just won Vocal Group at the ACM's for their first such award, but their momentum loss is noticeable as well. "Chainsaw" is doing just fine--quite well for a 4th single actually--but even though their singles have all been big hits, they just haven't sold as well, and their debut album has sold about 3x as much as their current album. Their loss of momentum isn't nearly as noticeable as Lady A's (or ZBB's) is, but it's still noticeable, imo. I disagree about "And The Radio Played" though. Maybe it wouldn't be a huge seller but I think radio would gobble it up. I have rarely felt so certain about anything. If radio likes a song they will make it big, and that song glorifies radio and country music. I think a good comparison is Mark Wills' "19 Somethin'". His song didn't name-drop country songs, but it still chronicled the decades a bit just as ATRP does. "19 Somethin'" did it with events/trends whereas "And The Radio Played" does it with country music hits of the times. Plus ATRP is just super good and super radio-friendly as well. "Compass" itself wasn't a huge seller by their standards but it still did just fine at radio, and I think ATRP would do at least as good as "Compass" did, if not better.

Not even 1 full year into its release and the era is pretty much over? Yikes.
